October 6, 201312 yr Really happy for Hazard today. A goal could be exactly what he needs to get back into form.
October 6, 201312 yr He's been quite poor at times for us this season but saying that i miss him when hes not playing.
October 27, 201312 yr citeh are a good side and they had players that were consistently trying to rough him up! as far as i am concern he did fine because we won the match.
October 28, 201312 yr Up against the best right back in the league, probably the 2nd best in the world after Lahm, he got crowded out but still showed glimpses of his outrageous talent, and worked hard defensively. It was a tight well defended game overall, Nasri/Oscar/Schurrle/Toure/Navas didn't do anything spectacular either aside from Schurrle's tap in. Silva was probably the brightest of the 6 attacking midfielders on the field.
October 28, 201312 yr He's not going to be the best player on the pitch every game but the work rate was there yesterday both offensively and defensively. I thought he did okay personally.
October 28, 201312 yr I think "all over the place" is a bit unfair. You are right some games he shines and others not so much. I think it depends if the other team target him or not. The good thing is we have a number of very very good attacking midfielders so if one is marked out of the game then the other two will take advantage.
October 28, 201312 yr i think the commentators had a point in yesterdays game. hazard is just shy of being called a truly world class player. the one thing he needs to add to his game is match-winning performance in the big games. he has all the talent to do it, he just needs the confidence/determination to go out there, demand the ball and take the game by the scruff of the neck in the really crucial moments. at the moment, its the one difference between him, and the likes of ribery/messi/ronaldo/ibrahimovic etc

Very true. I thought he was poor yesterday in a game crying out for him to take it by the scruff of the neck and do something special. He is a real talent and capable of being our match-winner (and indeed has been) but I have to feel for Mata who if he put in a performances like Hazards yesterday he would be dropped. I guess Mata will play tomorrow in the cup but I would be inclined to play him against Newcastle and let Hazard take a turn on the bench.
October 28, 201312 yr He was poor offensively for the most part (or rather quiet), but he worked his bollocks off out of possession. This is why he's an untouchable. I think he's going to explode into form pretty soon, our whole team just seems to be clicking gradually.

The whole team worked hard but the TV highlighted a couple of times Hazard switched off and let his man go. Sorry, but that performance yesterday was not one of an "untouchable".
November 1, 201312 yr Mourinho helped transform both di Maria and Ozil from the sort of player Hazard is into genuine matchwinners. Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane, Kaka, Ribery, Iniesta all come to mind as recent examples of how long it takes some players to realise their obvious talent. Of course there are always your Messi, Robben, Ronaldinho, Gerrard types who exhibit a talent for taking thr stage from a young age but most players need it to be nurtured.
November 1, 201312 yr True. I think another thing is that, PL players have sort of 'figured him out', if you will. I believe he even mentioned something himself about having to try and adapt this season because it's more challenging. IIRC, Ronaldo had to face a similar thing early in his career and he managed to adapt well and look how it resulted. Although at the same time, he had size and stuff to assist him so Hazard kind of has his work cut out of him tbh. I'm sure Mourinho will get the best out of him though!
November 1, 201312 yr I think the team still doesn't get the best out of him tbh. He is absolutely indomitable when the ball is played to him around the wide area of the box but we don't do it often enough. It's the single strongest weapon we have.
November 1, 201312 yr I thought we'd see a lot more quality dribbles and runs out of him this season, he's been a bit up and down. If we had a big forward like Drogba with massive aerial presence we'd probably see Hazard gunning it down the line more and making crosses etc. We seem to play the waiting game, passing about and waiting for openings.

I'm sorry, Syd, but to put Gerrard in the same sentence as those three, when that sentence doesn't start with "Gerrard isn't fit to clean the boots of......." is just plain wrong.
November 2, 201312 yr I think he has been running back and forth pretty well since the beginning of the season. Whilst not always impressive, he has been wearing out quite a few defenders which enabled other players to find the find the space they may not have found otherwise! One big annoyance of mine is his English (and i'm Belgian): How can you settle in a team an get support from fans if you are not able to communicate effectively?
November 2, 201312 yr As I said earlier he is too inconsistent to be a key player for us, needs to improve
November 2, 201312 yr 12 appearances this season, 5 goals, 2 assists. I think that is a pretty decent return.
November 2, 201312 yr He is a fantastic player and we are lucky to have him in our team. And that's the reason we want and expect to see more.
November 2, 201312 yr i dont think anyone is doubting his ability, but the difference between great players and good players is that the great players produce in the big matches, the big moments and win the club points on their own. hazard has yet to do that really. its the difference between someone like robinho, and your messi's/ronaldo's etc. we dont want hazard to be a robinho!!
