Mentioned it in the other thread but any new contract will be in it's second year when the tv money sky-rockets under the new deal. I expect that was a factor in the negotiations and now that's settled we could see some movement forward.

Apparently Jose was waiting for a new pen to give to Hazard to sign his new contract ;)

 

..always holding my heart when Haz takes a pen, have faith though ;-)

I thought he looked incredibly tired in the second half and was nowhere near his usual standard. I am extremely grateful we're not playing this weekend in light of the upcoming PSG game.

    I enjoy your posts Chelsea forever1, but they would be far easier to read without text speak (omg) and excessive capital letters (FiNALLY), emoticons (the blue hearts) and elongated words (sooo, overrerrrrr). Emoticons every now and then are absolutely fine, as are capitalised words in times of excitement like when Chelsea score! Just not necessary in almost every post, in my opinion.

    In my opinion, hazard's signature for me is an important chelsea goal.

    Is that the woman who's been doing all the deals?

    AFAIK she definitely did the Schürrle deal to Wolfsburg. People in Wolfsburg were complaining about her since December.

    How can Eden take his game to the next level, or is he the best Midfielder on the planet, and therefore isn't/can't be like Messi?

    Eden is brilliant as he is. Don't make those comparisons. Hazard is Hazard and Messi is Messi. If you want to have a Messi go and buy him.

    He has signed the contract, will he stay that long, if he does not start recieving protection from Referees I believe he will not,

    Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard could become "one of the best players in the world" if he gets protection from referees, according to former Blues star Pat Nevin.

    Hazard, 24, who has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at the club, is the most fouled player in the league this season, with opposing players being penalised 74 times.

    "If he's going to last his five-and-a-half years he's got to get a bit more protection than he's getting just now," Nevin told BBC Sport.

    "If he gets that then he could turn out to be one of the best players in the world. If he gets that, then he would be right on the coat-tails of Messi and Ronaldo."

    Crazy to look at Messi's record at 24 there! Even Ronaldo's is pretty incredible.

    Hopefully Eden will have a EPL, League cup and CL crown to his name befor ehis next Birthday.

    Just wonderful news, can't imagine us without him. For a guy that's most fouled player in the game, his endurance is quite special on top of everything else he delivers.

     

    That blue shirt suits him so much better than a royal white, good to know he keeps on wearing it for at least some years. Also think that Mourinho is the best manager for him. His consistency and work rate has improved a lot since Jose's around, he can still improve, exciting times...
