February 11, 201511 yr As it turns out, 16-year-old Eden Hazard had a mullet: http://gfycat.com/FamiliarSociableAfricanclawedfrog
February 11, 201511 yr Mentioned it in the other thread but any new contract will be in it's second year when the tv money sky-rockets under the new deal. I expect that was a factor in the negotiations and now that's settled we could see some movement forward.
February 11, 201511 yr Latest on the new contract from Mourinho: "I am buying a nice pen. I need a bit of time to go to Sloane Street and buy a proper pen. I just need time to buy the pen and after that I think there is not a long time to go..."
February 11, 201511 yr Apparently Jose was waiting for a new pen to give to Hazard to sign his new contract ;)
February 11, 201511 yr Apparently Jose was waiting for a new pen to give to Hazard to sign his new contract ;) ..always holding my heart when Haz takes a pen, have faith though ;-)
February 12, 201511 yr I thought he looked incredibly tired in the second half and was nowhere near his usual standard. I am extremely grateful we're not playing this weekend in light of the upcoming PSG game. Edited February 12, 201511 yr by PloKoon13
February 12, 201511 yr just signed a new 5 and a half year deal, just popped up on my phone (sky sports), best news all day! JM must have gone and got that pen!

February 12, 201511 yr How can Eden take his game to the next level, or is he the best Midfielder on the planet, and therefore isn't/can't be like Messi?
February 12, 201511 yr Omg FiNALLY I'm sooo happy my sleepless nights about Madrid knocking the door is overrerrrrr I enjoy your posts Chelsea forever1, but they would be far easier to read without text speak (omg) and excessive capital letters (FiNALLY), emoticons (the blue hearts) and elongated words (sooo, overrerrrrr). Emoticons every now and then are absolutely fine, as are capitalised words in times of excitement like when Chelsea score! Just not necessary in almost every post, in my opinion. Of course, I will make sure I make it easier next time for you and for everyone else not to worry. I'm just so excited. In my opinion, hazard's signature for me is an important chelsea goal.
February 12, 201511 yr Just wonderful news, can't imagine us without him. For a guy that's most fouled player in the game, his endurance is quite special on top of everything else he delivers.
February 13, 201511 yr Is that the woman who's been doing all the deals? AFAIK she definitely did the Schürrle deal to Wolfsburg. People in Wolfsburg were complaining about her since December.
February 13, 201511 yr How can Eden take his game to the next level, or is he the best Midfielder on the planet, and therefore isn't/can't be like Messi? Eden is brilliant as he is. Don't make those comparisons. Hazard is Hazard and Messi is Messi. If you want to have a Messi go and buy him.
February 13, 201511 yr He has signed the contract, will he stay that long, if he does not start recieving protection from Referees I believe he will not, Pat Nevin said as much. Eden Hazard: He could be 'one of the best in the world' - Nevin Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard could become "one of the best players in the world" if he gets protection from referees, according to former Blues star Pat Nevin. Hazard, 24, who has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at the club, is the most fouled player in the league this season, with opposing players being penalised 74 times. "If he's going to last his five-and-a-half years he's got to get a bit more protection than he's getting just now," Nevin told BBC Sport. "If he gets that then he could turn out to be one of the best players in the world. If he gets that, then he would be right on the coat-tails of Messi and Ronaldo." How the trio compare at 24 Hazard - 3 major honours: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Uefa Europa League Messi - 26 major honours: 5 La Liga titles, 5 Supercopa de Espana, 3 Champions League titles, Copa del Ray, Fifa Club World Cup, Copa America, Ballon d'Or, Fifa Player of the Year, Olympic Gold, Fifa U20 World Cup, Uefa Club Footballer of Year Ronaldo - 9 major honours: 3 Premier League titles, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Fifa World Club Cup, Fifa World Player of the Year, Ballon d'Or The Belgium international has scored 13 times in 36 appearances this season and seen 28 opposing players booked for tackles against him. "It's great news for the club. It looks as though he is going to now be a Chelsea player for the majority of the best part of his career and I for one am excited to keep watching him as a part of our game. "Too often we are losing the best players out of the Premier League." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31448866
February 13, 201511 yr Crazy to look at Messi's record at 24 there! Even Ronaldo's is pretty incredible. Hopefully Eden will have a EPL, League cup and CL crown to his name befor ehis next Birthday.
February 13, 201511 yr Just wonderful news, can't imagine us without him. For a guy that's most fouled player in the game, his endurance is quite special on top of everything else he delivers. That blue shirt suits him so much better than a royal white, good to know he keeps on wearing it for at least some years. Also think that Mourinho is the best manager for him. His consistency and work rate has improved a lot since Jose's around, he can still improve, exciting times...
