Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

It didn't take a particularly long period of disappointing performances for quite a large section of the Chelsea fanbase to turn on him either if we're being completely honest...

Took longer than it did to turn on the most successful manager in our history....

I just get the feeling you're never gonna be able to let it go Barry!

Cannot compare a manger to a player. Player only has to sort is own game out, yet a manger has a whole bunch of things/players he needs to get going.

Good to read this morning that Eden is happy to stay unless RM come calling. I dont think you could blame any of our players for wanting to go to Madrid, and especially not Hazard whose boyhood idol Was Zizou.

It's a shame the fans aren't chanting his name after calling him out as a "snake" after the debacle with mourinho. i think the fans need to get behind him so we can at least sway his mind a little if it is in madrid.

His name was sung on Saturday a number of times and he heard and turned and clapped the crowd - twice, once when he scored and once at the end of the match.

Great player on his day but I doubt he would last long at Madrid, he's not greedy enough.

Annoying thing is he will possibly leave at the end of the season but for probably less money than what he would have sold for last year.

Poor again from Hazard tonight. He started the game well but he soon trailed off. He was in the perfect position to take on the Norwich players throughout the second half but stopped and passed back. He just doesn't have the drive anymore, it's more than just a lack of confidence.

I'm not even sure if he wants to play for us or not. I was watching Traore and could see fire in his eyes, his motivation and his heart while playing, but I couldn't see these things on Hazard.

The bottle's gone. In situations where he'd put his head down and go, he now lays the ball off. Rather than take players on, he passes and then moves but doesn't really have the pace to create the space needed.

His passing is still pretty good but there's no drive, no dynamism, no electricity.

Maybe it's all the kickings he's got, maybe he's saving himself, maybe it's a lack of fitness but this just isn't Eden Hazard.

He isn't doing the things that make him Eden Hazard, player of the year.

If he isn't going to try to beat his man or take shots at goal then what exactly is he doing for his £200k a week?

He's not playing badly as such but he's just not influencing games anymore which makes him kind of pointless.

Didn't think he that bad today. Yes he should have tried to get a shot away late in that second half, but he was full of running from start to finish, and was the victim of some lazy passes when we were on the break in the second half.

I don't see any evidence in his that even remotely suggest he doesn't care. Tbh I find the whole notion that a professional athlete, can be that uncompetitive, to be completely absurd.

Sad to say... He gives me the impression he doesn't want the responsibility of making things happen. Maybe he needs input from a different manager maybe he needs a change of scenery.

He just isn't hungry any more.

Full of running? Not really with the ball very much. He'd play a lot of hopeless give and goes but most of the time he laid it off rather than running with the ball.

But I respect that you believe he was full of running. So I checked on whoscored and squawka and they sorta confirmed what I thought I saw in the match. He took a player on 4 times, succeeding twice. Redmond on the other hand had 13 attempts.

Redmond's also came late on down the left after we'd made those changes.

Redmond could have walked past those players with the lack of effort we were putting in at times towards the end. He doesn't get anywhere near the close attention from defenders that Eden gets.

Not defending Hazard's performances as I also expect more from him but people go way over the top at times.

I didn't actually say anything about taking on players so not sure why you brought that up tbh.

He made some fantastic runs off the ball tonight, he tracked back well, when he did beat his man he nearly put one on a plate for traore in the first half.

I thought he was dropping the shoulder and more flicks were coming off tonight than they have for a long time.

He seems to just get constantly critised, and it has been a hell of a lot worse since the quotes from the interview the other week.

I think there is quite a few fans with their mind made up about him now. Matic, mikel, willian, and oscar, we're all worse than him tonight imo. Costa was in the second half aswell, but I suppose everyone loves a scapegoat.

Maybe we should sell him and buy redmond! Lol

I think it's because of how often it is happening. If it was one performance like this every so often, i think people wouldn't complain, but it seem's like every single time he plays that he put's in this kind of performance now. I can accept poor form but it's got to be more than that now, no top player stays out of form for this long. It's almost been a full season of poor form from him.

Sorry, I assumed when you said he was full of running that you meant with the ball.

Off the ball I didn't think he did much defensively but he seemed to make a lot of runs forward where he'd lay the ball off and try to run into space for the return except he couldn't really shake his marker.

And it's not just tonight. More stats(YAY!) but he's averaging half as many successful take-ons per 90 as he was last season. Put simply the guy simply isn't dribbling past players anymore.

What was good tonight was a couple of his passes, first for Fabregas and again to put Traore into space.

But he's just not doing any of the things that make him worth what he's being paid, and he's even averaging half as many tackles per 90 as he was last season.

If you're half the player you were then making comments about other teams is inadvisable.
