Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here, but I think part of him being booted constantly and not being protected is damaging to his Psyche.  When he has the ball, he rarely attacks the opposition back 4 and continues to invite their players to get back and cover against him.  It is the same as Willian, but at least Willian is taking on some players.

He still seems unfit to me, the game being a crucial CL tie meant he pushed himself more than usual and actually made some of his signature runs which I haven't seen for ages, ends up injuring himself during one of them.

Didn't perform once this season. It is pretty much over now anyways, what a fall from grace. Major disappointment. I hope Kenedy gets a chance in his position from now on until may.

Sounds like an excuse to me. He's off in the summer.

That would be terrible for the club, it would take years to find someone anywhere near as good as him. Despite this awful season he's still one of the few players we have who has real top class quality. I get the temptation to lash out but I think fans and the club need to think carefully about letting/wanting him to go.

You would think with the season he has had he would show some disappointment or anger on his face when things ain't going right. You look at the others and when things haven't quite gone right, they show their emotion, with Hazard it is nothing.

I remember when we were losing to Tottenham last season, Hazard gave everything he could to try and get us back into the game. We were 4-1 down ( i think ) and he was still by far the best player on the pitch. He ran his socks off, he beat Tottenham's defenders again and again, he shown drive, commitment, determination and then anger when things didn't go right..........i haven't seen any of this once this season. The guy just doesn't look like he cares enough. Every so often you will see him burst through a few players but as soon as he feel's contact he is happy to take the foul.

For all of the talent he clearly has, he just isn't doing enough for us. Players can go through poor form, i can accept that, but i don't think what Hazard is going through is down to poor form. Disinterest is the word i would use right now.

The thing is, he wasn't even that bad tonight. But when the time came for him to step up and show something, it just didn't happen.

I didn't think he played badly at all tonight - he was very dangerous when running at the PSG defence, and worked tirelessly to protect Kenedy on the left; he put so much effort into some of his runs off-the-ball that at times I initially mistook him for Pedro. He also had that excellent chance which stung the palms of Trapp.

Unfortunately, he instantly deflated after PSG's second. That said, he was far from the only one. I wasn't particularly impressed at how slowly he trudged off the pitch when he was substituted* - if an opposition player had done that I would have been screaming for a yellow card for timewasting!

* I am completely willing to retract this if it turns out he is actually injured and it wasn't just a knock.

He's been mince, absolute mince.

Look at other top quality footballer then look at Hazard. He's been awol for a whole season and shows bugger all emotion.

He will want to leave in any case but I'd drive him to the airport for £50 million and over.

Waste of a amazing talent, if he goes to Madrid they will eat him alive and then he will know all about it.

Did Hazard actually swap his shirt for a PSG one at half time? Did not realize that before someone mentioned it now but how dare he if thats true.

For what it's worth Paulo Ferreira (whose commitment I am sure nobody would be fool enough to question) did the same thing with Ronaldinho (who had scored twice) against Barcelona in 2005:

Yeah, even though i am annoyed with Hazard's apparent lack of interest, i'm not going to complain one bit about the shirt swapping at half time. I don't really understand why this annoys people so much really. For some reason people think it show's that a player isn't interested or isn't focused, i don't understand how anyone comes to that conclusion to be honest.

i won't be sorry if he leaves, one good season but this time around he has shown a lack of desire to deliver for us. i think we are all agreed that the team needs a refresh for the next campaign, poor old Roman will have to splash some cash. I just hope that Conte or whoever is in charge can find players with enough skill and hunger to get us back into the top4. Next season will be hugely difficult with so many teams well equipped for the Premier League.

But we can't have another season like this from him. If he look's disinterested now, just think how he will look next season. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he put's in a transfer request after the Euro's.

He just plays like he doesn't want to be here ...

Players have a right to do what they want with their career so Hazard can leave if he wants in the Summer, I won't lose too much sleep. What keeps me up at night is the utterly disgraceful performances he is putting in, week in week out despite the ludicrous amounts he is being paid.

If you want to leave at the end of the season fine, but I just don't understand the logic in the way he is getting on? Why not try to convince your other suitors that you're worthy enough for them to take a punt on, and if his reasons are purely financial, why would he not want to drive his market value up a bit?

Maybe his form is just an indescribable problem, but the worrying part is that with most players in this situation the confidence is lacking but the desire and drive is evident; can't say the same for Eden.
