Our New Stadium

I mocked up the model in 3ds max. Crested a spline line tracing of the stands, extruded them to form the model so it would be an exact replica and very accurate down to even the exact number of rows, spacing between tiers etc. when I get more details to work from, I will do a proper photographic render.

Wow, those 3D renders are images I made just today! How quickly things get shared. Let me know if you guys get more details and I will update the images. I would like to do the roof model but I had so little to go on that it would just be guess work. The same. For the exterior. Not sure why the only official images are so very vague.

They've been shared a lot mate, on every other Chelsea forum I've peaked at as well. Well done for doing them.

Expect more detailed drawings and a model around September time.

I know you've not included it in your images but I just wanted to correct something you said about wheelchair access on the Architecture forum.

One of the consultants at the exhibition told me disabled fans will be located at the top of the lower tier of the East Stand (Edit: I can't remember if he said West as well but I doubt it).

I think they are playing ball, according to the consultant I spoke to, they have been brilliant, and the club have been working with them together on this for 3 years.

Here's an article published on the council's website 3 years ago, just before they started working with the club closely on this.

http://www.lbhf.gov.uk/Directory/News/Enlarged_Stamford_Bridge_should_be_CFCs_future.asp

As you can see, they rejected the idea the club had put forward that expansion on the site was unfeasible, they understood our reasons for needing to expand, and they were against us moving outside of the borough, so it looks like this is when the real constructive dialogue started between both parties. I could be wrong though.

I don't think this is right. At the time of that statement the council was in Tory hands and their apparent main motivation was to squash any possibility of the club muscling in on their pet project at Earls Court. Whatever people think of the national party, the local Tories have never been supportive of the club. It was only when the council changed hands to Labour in May 2014 that the wheels on this project began to move. Pure coincidence or did the club finally get a local authority they could work with?

Hope so Davey I'll be upset to see the bridge knocked the redevelopment of the bridge was a huge part of my childhood the benches the green bucket seats and the massive floodlights I'll never forget them memories but if we get the go ahead for the stadium being redeveloped it will be iconic

It took me a while to be convinced that we truly needed an upgrade but I'm very happy that we will be staying on the same site no matter what rather than moving elsewhere where the spirit and identity of the club would have diminished somewhat in my opinion!

The redevelopment of the stadium throughout the early 90s was a truly a symbol of the club revolutionising itself under Bates and I think Roman wants to do the same thing under his ownership of the club.

This project is very exciting. With every new detail, either official or fan rendering, I cannot wait for the next set of plans and details to be released. This is going to be awesome!! :JC_doubleup:

Oh the dumb irony in your post.

Erm , yeah whatever.

But at least admit you were just guessing and making up figures!

Cheers to Neil for drawing those up. I am sure it took ages.

Do we know if they are confirmed / realistic plans based on knowledge so far, or is it only Neil's idea?

Do you think we will re name the stands as they are being knocked down and rebuilt?

That was my question as well. Hopefully MH and Shed End will stay, and some more imaginative names will be given to the East and West stands. By that time, a John Terry stand for instance would be a good idea

Matthew Harding and The Shed End will stay the same.

No idea if the West and East will have new names.

Davey Baby Stand anyone .. ? Nope, thought not.

They are accurate according to the drawings published by the club.

Bear in mind however the drawings published by the club were deliberately vague and only meant to give us a general idea, prior to the consultation that has just passed.

Neilando, that's what I was doing, but had only just finished tracing most of it. You done a better job than I could have though, not had a lot of time to play on 3ds Max.

I had a little. Go at how the roof might look. But I know it is just a guess. I added the buttresses as seen in the cfc images, and it's a close approximation.
