Victor Moses

I don't get this argument of end product Moses kept putting quality crosses in with no one of the end of it Moses giving the ball away is nothing compared to what others have done last season and the mistakes for goals this season. The more this team plays the more the understanding will come

I thought it was a pretty standard Moses display, great at times, good direct running but with very little end product, which has always been his problem.

Have to agree, put in a better shift than we've seen lately from Oscar or Pedro but my first thought wasn't running to this thread to lavish praise upon him, a 7/10 performance at best, but hopefully he'll continue to improve.

Still not sure that i'd rather have him in the team ahead of Cesc but we'll see, so far so good.

Let's hope he gets a run of games so we can see how productive he can be. Then people can judge him fairly. I hope he stays in the team as he looked good from the first game of the season and the minutes he's had since.

Missed the game yesterday...was he playing rwb?  How was the team set up?  3-4-3 is what I'm hearing...was azpi playing as part of back 3?

From what I gather:

         Azpi, Luiz, Cahill

Moses                         Alonso

         Kante, Matic

 Willian                   Hazard

              Costa

The performance wasn't that good.

It was better than ANY performance Hazard has this season, and yet a goal against burnley (IIRC) and people were going on and on and on about how the old eden is back and blah blah blah..

Why are people moaning about his end product when we've had Willian on the wing for the past three years hahahaha. Worst end product ever seen.

OH! MY! DEAR! LORD!

I thought I'd pop by the ol' forum to see what the mood is, but holy crap on a stick! It's... It's... It's The Monty Python's Flying Circus, to be honest.

@Maksimov  I for one am overjoyed to see you posting again, Maks!  Go to the MC thread!  You know you want to!  I am missing Modest Mouse!

I have a lot of time for Victor Moses and he brings an injection of directness, pace and strength to the right side of the pitch especially in his new wing-back role.  Would be well pleased to see him sustain in a first team spot in Conte's 3-4-3 formation.

Are you going to elaborate on any of that or just stick with the comment that offers nothing to the discussion?

Well, the gaffer likes him, and I am glad to see him get some playing time if he is earning it through old fashioned hard work

Manager of Chelsea Antonio Conte says Nigerian forward Victor Moses understands and plays the type of football he cherish in his players.

Moses excelled in a new role as wing back for Chelsea in their 2-0 win over Hull City over the weekend, which ended a barren run of games without victories for the Blues.

” It was a great performance from Victor Moses. Your name isn’t important, but you have to be able to play my idea of football” He said.

” For me, Moses played an incredible game in a defensive situation and offensive situation. It’s fantastic. He is working very hard and that’s why he deserved to play. He showed me that my choice was right.

” If Moses and Pedro can play in this way, it’s fantastic. To have wingers able to do this role (wing-back) is a great option”.

You've caught us on a good day.

Comparing Moses to Hazard is ridiculous, we're talking about a man who carried our side to a Premier League title, picking up the Player of The Year in the process and has dazzled us for years with performances to another man who made his first Premier League start for the club this weekend... The two aren't on the same level.

However saying that, very pleased to see Moses playing well. He works hard, is a percentage player and does the simple things well. Not afraid to take a player on and his delivery is far better than we've seen in recent times with Willian and Pedro. I'm all for him getting more minutes and making that RWB slot his own if that's the way we're going!

No one is comparing Moses' talent and hazard's talent. That's a no brainer.

The comparison was just to show the double standards of judgement of our fans. Moses did put in a Motm performance - fact. If hazard had put in a performance like this, everyone would be going OTT. Fact is that despite all the talent that hazard possesses, he has been below average for a major part of now 1 and a half year.

Its time we start judging him for the performances that he does put in rather than the performances that we wish and hope he puts in, rather than using double standards to judge our players.

moses on the other hand is putting in a definite 8/10 performances on every chance he gets, be it a sub appearance, league cup or pl.

If Hazard put in the performance Moses did against Hull i would say he was very average, you are acting like Moses put in a Ronaldinho vs Real Madrid 2005 type performance, but apart from a couple of nice dribbles that led to nothing what did Moses actually do in the game that was so great? fact is Hazard has put in 3 better performances this season then Moses performance against Hull.

LOL. Hazard has put in 3 better performances Just like Pedro keeps starting every game and even scoring in every team sheet you put forth.

Cant do much about those prejudices.

Also, IF moses simply put in an average "hazard-esque" performances, and still was voted the MOTM by about 30% posters on here, just shows the current hazard standard of play.

  1. Heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.

  2. Line two 18cm/7in cake tins with baking parchment

  3. Cream the butter and the sugar together until pale. Use an electric hand mixer if you have one.

  4. Beat in the eggs.

  5. Sift over the flour and fold in using a large metal spoon.

  6. The mixture should be of a dropping consistency; if it is not, add a little milk.

  7. Divide the mixture between the cake tins and gently spread out with a spatula. Bake for 20-25 minutes until an inserted skewer comes out clean. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before turning on to a wire rack to cool.

  8. Sandwich the cakes together with jam, lemon curd or whipped cream and berries or just enjoy on its own.

  9. Whilst having your cake, simultaneously eat it and then post "lol", muttering something about prejudices.

next week, seeing wood for the trees. and concluding that the trees are prejudiced.
