Sorry, but it was 2:1 with the team chasing the game and pushing forward. Matic had the right to push a bit forward as he had no reason to expect such a poor loss of the ball. We shouldn't have lost the ball in that area, especially with such a poor pass. That goal is on Hazard.

Don't have a great deal of sympathy for matic tbh. If he had stood up and be counted, he would never have lost his place in the beginning.

If he is embarrassed by it, good, next time he plays he should have a point to prove.

Our title defence has been embarrassing, matic definitely isn't the only one by any stretch, but he can be a leader and it's going to characters like matic, costa, and Terry that can get us out of this.

Your points are valid. I was just trying to look at it from another perspective on why Jose subbed him off haha.

Oscar was supposed to go off, then that Pelle goal took place & Jose was trying to rescue a point from the match. Jose even said as much after the match.

I would not be too concerned with the sending off...the Portuguese player went in for a stomp and that's why Matic reacted. 

Well, it's a bit of an overreaction from Matic. Can't blame him entirely though.

 

It's funny how he swung his elbow and completely missed Andre Andre, yet that guy went down like he got shot in the head.

 

 

Matic was captain at that moment, he couldn't do that. He left the team with 9 players, bad times for him.

Looked like the guy could have caused some serious damage if Matic had kept his left leg standing. I'm just glad he's ok.

Looking at the opposition player, he's tried to stand on Matic's ankle/leg about 3 times after the ball has gone. 

 

Doesn't excuse the response from Matic because especially after the Ashley Barnes incident he should be smarter to it. 

So, where was the sniper hiding? Matic didn't even connect, but something made the other guy go down...

So that is twice this year that a player has tried to snap Matic's leg in half. I bet no punishment is given to the other player again though.

Hazard get's fouled a lot but he hasn't had players trying to break his legs.

Came on and changed the game for good today. I'm still thinking he wasn't that bad, but I will forget all that critic towards him and facing a new start. Today he showed a good performance, I hope to see him starting with RLC. 

I'm glad he played well today. We were a lot more defensively assured and organised in the second half.

 

At least this'll put those rumours about him being unhappy to rest.

Funny, I remember Matic getting a red and it being upheld for doing what Richardson did to Costa,  Only difference is that Matic did it in response to a leg breaking challenge and not some petty sh*t.  I await with baited breath to see the FA do absolutely f**king nothing.
