May 7, 201610 yr If they aren't going to give him a new contract then surely he must get a testimonial?
May 7, 201610 yr If they aren't going to give him a new contract then surely he must get a testimonial? Has to, who would you think he'd chose to have it against?
May 7, 201610 yr If they aren't going to give him a new contract then surely he must get a testimonial? Unlikely given the club has been very cold to Lamps and Cole as well. Drogba is the only one who has been treated well by the club.
May 7, 201610 yr Can't think of one decision in recent times that has been the right one, maybe an overreaction, but I think certainly within the elite clubs throughout the world, for me one of the worst. Fully agree.
May 7, 201610 yr So that's it. It's over. Finished. Thank you for everything JT. Oh and f**k the board. :)
May 8, 201610 yr We must sing his name loudly and from the rafters throughout the last game against Leicester. And a minutes applause on the 26th minute.
May 8, 201610 yr Anyone else find it amusing that it's being reported as JT will now miss his last game....surely yesterday was his last game then....
May 8, 201610 yr Duncan Castles @DuncanCastles 18h18 hours ago That second yellow card should mean that John Terry never plays another competitive game for Chelsea. A fitting end. #CFC #SAFC tosser!
May 8, 201610 yr Castles isn't even a real journalist, just a hack who isn't employed by any of the main papers.
May 9, 201610 yr the club need to man the f**k up and keep him at the club. even if he's sitting on the bench a little more often, he needs to be here at least one more season ffs.
May 9, 201610 yr Not final yet. I think Conte is likely to keep him According to Rob Beasley on Twitter, Conte has spoken twice to Terry and told him it's a Board decision and he has no say in player recruitment! If that's right it would mean it's Abramovich who's made the call.

May 9, 201610 yr A club spokesman said: "John requested a meeting with the club the week before last. "In that meeting he asked about the possibility of an extension to his existing contract. "John was advised that while no new deal was currently on the table, that situation could change in the coming months. "The club has the utmost respect for John and everything he has helped us achieve to date. "He is a fantastic servant of Chelsea Football Club and a superb captain and, as such, the club will keep the channels of dialogue open." Read more at http://talksport.com/football/chelsea-insist-captain-john-terry-could-still-be-offered-new-contract-160201183305#YarHkAJ5Ssg6E0hG.99 That was in January. Doesn't contradict what Conte is alleged to have told him. It just means that the final decision could still take place over the summer. I think they might make him a very poor contract offer on massively reduced wages, and JT will turn it down knowing he could earn far more overseas. A sad sad end in prospect for a truly fantastic servant.
May 9, 201610 yr If I were JT I would take the lower offer, (within reason) and try to keep the place. He wants that legacy to go on as long as possible. Definitely has another year in him
May 9, 201610 yr No fuc.in way has Conte joined this club to be told transfers are out of his hands. No way.
May 9, 201610 yr This season has just been so bad by our recent standards that some hard and unpleasant decisions probably do have to be made.
May 9, 201610 yr If I were JT I would take the lower offer, (within reason) and try to keep the place. He wants that legacy to go on as long as possible. Definitely has another year in him Assuming there is an offer, I really hope he'd take it, but he must feel let down by the whole process (and by what happened with Lamps and Ashley Cole). He's got another year as a player in him, but he can contribute massively in other ways as well.
May 9, 201610 yr Why would a manager join if he had no say on player recruitment? I just don't buy that. Could be that Conte has made the decision in consultation with the Board and is telling Terry that it's a Board decision, so the new manager doesn't take the flak from the fans for showing Terry the door.

He's got another year as a player in him, but he can contribute massively in other ways as well. That's what's pissed me off about many of these decisions. They think cause they're done as first teamers that it's as simple to get rid but they don't think of the influence they have on the dressing room and training etc.
