August 23, 201411 yr They are selling because they want the new shiney thing not the old shiney thing.
August 23, 201411 yr What happened to the Cuadrado to United move? He was linked quite heavily if i'm correct
August 23, 201411 yr Bayern have become odds on faves to sign Sami Khedira,Replacing Arsenal, If they also sign up Benatia who is 1/6 to join Bayern, That would sort out any weakness around the back for Bayern, I guess that's why they are CL favorites. Signing players upon players does not just sort out weaknesses though. For me it causes a lot more heat in the dressing room and I don't think players play better when there is to much at stake for there position. Or if a player is just valued as a backup. Football isn't that one dimensional, it's why I hope we don't sign Cavani because it would be a big f**k you to Costa if you ask me, especially when he is promised to be our new main striker. We could do with another striker yes but we should be only looking at players like Remy not massive transfer targets that set a lot of headlines and can cause disturbance. August 23, 201411 yr Wait, what? Why would them signing Khedira sort out their weakness? He would be their worst midfielder if he was signed.
August 23, 201411 yr either Khedira or Vidal will be very good signings for them along with another cb

That's what 30M gets you, two goals when it matters. The point about Costa is that most defenders in this league will be able to keep him in check when it comes to general play. If he's not quick enough or tricky enough to create on his own with the ball at his feet he'll be reliant on quality service or, as both of his goals have been so far, cleaning up scraps. We'll see how he does against non championship defenders, but he has been overrated by most people for me.
August 23, 201411 yr Dint think Di Maria at £56m will make as big an impact as some people think...panic buy
August 23, 201411 yr There's no such thing as a worst midfielder in your side, He is more than capable of doing a job, You also have to take into account Javi Martinez is out for a long period, Schweinsteiger is currently out for another 2/3 weeks and is a regular in the treatment room at the moment, Plus there's no guarantee Schweinsteiger will be at Bayern come the end of the transfer window. The other factor is that he is popular amongst the hierarchy at Bayern what with his contribution at the WC, With Rummenegge salivating over the idea of him playing for Bayern under Guardiola.
August 23, 201411 yr Huge signing for them sadly. He's one of if not the best winger in the world today.
August 23, 201411 yr Dint think Di Maria at £56m will make as big an impact as some people think...panic buy Appeases the fans, same way the Mata signing did but it glosses over the fact they have no world class defenders or central midfielders. They'll be lucky to finish top four even if they do sign Di Maria.
August 24, 201411 yr Off topic-ish but it's frustrating to see players like Ozil not coping with the more physical side of the English game but then England not playing that 'English' physical game in international games. Everytime i see any side try playing physical in international football the ref has none of it and blows for a foul everytime. Physical football only happens in England sadly. Bayern have become odds on faves to sign Sami Khedira,Replacing Arsenal, If they also sign up Benatia who is 1/6 to join Bayern, That would sort out any weakness around the back for Bayern, I guess that's why they are CL favorites. Depends how Guardiola sets them up though. If he plays open tiki taka football like he usually does i can see the another thrashing in the later stages of the Champions League. damn why are Real selling? he's easily their most important player after Ronaldo and can play as a winger or in midfield I would imagine LVG will go to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-3 I suppose when they spend nearly £100,000,000 on 2 players they have no choice. August 24, 201411 yr Dint think Di Maria at £56m will make as big an impact as some people think...panic buy Quality player, as is Mata, but is not where United need more strength. They need it at the back, maybe they think Rojo gives them that, and need it in the center of midfield imo.
August 24, 201411 yr Been hugely impressed with Di Maria in the last year or so, really stupid Real selling Di Maria to bring in James who isn't fit to lace his boots. Stinks of the Makelele situation allover again.
August 24, 201411 yr Surely a right wing back like cuardrado would have been better for United. Can't really see their end goal at the moment. De Gea Di maria smalling jones rojo shaw Herrara fletcher Mata Rooney van persie Not the strongest team considering they will have spent 120m
August 24, 201411 yr Been hugely impressed with Di Maria in the last year or so, really stupid Real selling Di Maria to bring in James who isn't fit to lace his boots. Stinks of the Makelele situation allover again. That's what Real do though, they sell a player that's perfectly capable and often better than the new show pony they want. Example selling Wesley Sneijder and signing Kaka.
August 24, 201411 yr Dint think Di Maria at £56m will make as big an impact as some people think...panic buy I'd be more worried if they were spending that money on a new defence.
August 24, 201411 yr Di Maria is a fantastic player and will mean that Man Utd have a 'trademark' world class winger for the first time in a few years. Completely agree though, they need to sign at least one defender (I'm surprised they weren't in for Vertonghen as soon as they knew Vidic was leaving) and another central midfielder if they are to be a serious threat. After all the summer talk, anything short of Vidal would be a disappointment.
August 24, 201411 yr I'd be more worried if they were spending that money on a new defence. Exactly - that's their weakness but buying solid defenders doesn't excite the majority of fans... and that's seemingly what Man Utd are solely trying to do.
August 24, 201411 yr Hes a "marquee" signing to appease fans when what they need is to solidify there core. He's also a winger then they are playing with wing backs. Much like Mata for them he'll require a change of system to fit in and for me it's a foolish waste of £60million when we all know they need a solid CB and a midfielder better than "I've had 2 years out" Darren Fletcher. If he was moving to City or Arsenal I'd be concerned as is I think the situation at Utd is hilarious. Can't wait to see them finish 5th after spending £150 million. Since Jan they have spent £100 million on 2 players not wanted at their clubs. Desperate. Edited August 24, 201411 yr by Shotgun883
August 24, 201411 yr Di Maria is a good player but sky said he scored four goals and had 17 assists in la Liga last season....considering real dominate every game they play in bar Barcelona and Atletico, that's not that great...at Utd he won't have anywhere near as many chances...plus he better sort his diving out
August 24, 201411 yr QPR are getting hammered. What the hell is Redknapp doing ? they are so open and have 2 aging CB's in their team. You would have to be blind not to realise that Rio Ferdinand is finished.
August 24, 201411 yr As much as I don't want Tottenham to win (they'll be top of the league won't they?) - QPR losing and hopefully being relegated again would be fantastic to see.
