Welcome Loic Remy

Pato was pretty good when he first came on the seen. Just seen he is only 25! Still don't think he will reach his potential, like bobby said, injuries looked to have really hampered his career.

When we were in for Benteke people didn' t like the price/idea, but if you're watching him now against Arsenal he looks like a perfect chelsea player, target man, handful, turns off players well, he is like a drogba/costa highbred but just not quite as good, petty we couldn't have got him for a good price.

If i had to find a fault with Bentake is that he can be a bit rash at times and loses his head and gets sent off. TBF Costa will be sent off in the next few games. Even WBA players managed to wind him up.

I don't think we will make much if anything by shipping out Remy and bringing in Austin.

Were they not wanting £12-15 million

For the lone striker role, which José prefers, Austin would be a better fit than Remy.

He's very good but he'd have to play second fiddle here, but I suppose City tempted Bony to play second fiddle, and he's another very good striker, whom they bought for £28m.

Remy can play in multiple positions which Austin can't.

In any case Austin would be behind Falcao if he moved for at least a season so if he values his career he should go somewhere else.

Multiple positions, but not naturally suited to the lone striker role. As other posters have pointed out Remy's hold up play is particularly poor. He doesn't play well with his back to goal and José isn't going to change his preferred formation to accommodate two strikers as a starting option.

What are our chances to keep him? I don't know why but it seems like Jose doesn't really rate Remy. He's trying to bring back Falcao but it's impossible. Rumours that Lyon are planning to bid for Remy.

bloody hell we just started the season, i see no reason for him to get sold. we need all the players we can keep at the moment so doubt he'll be leaving. we have costa, remy, falcao and traore (who can be 4th striker) so see no reason to let one go as it's a long season.

We'd be mad to sell him. He has a skillset neither Costa nor Falcao are anything remotely close to. In addition he scored a goal every 95 minutes in the league last season.

I have no idea why he is behind Falcao, i would pick Remy to come off the bench every single time over Falcao. When Remy comes off the bench he offers something, and although it's early days, Falcao has done absolutely nothing positive when he has come off the bench so far.

Agree totally.. Baffling if it was a level playing field..

But as we know (Torres) sometimes a name and previous reputation will carry you further than it should.

think falcao was only used last game as he is stronger and more likely to hold the ball up

Is he stronger though ? from what i have seen in the last year the guy is easy to push off the ball. I am yet to see him power through any English teams defense.

I even think Remy is a better finisher than Costa. Costa being the better player overall obviously but give Remy a chance and he will score.

Sort of agree, and he's definitely faster. I'm not buying this whole must be able to hold the ball with back against the goal theory.  He's not Drogba/Costa type of player, but more often that not he will get on those through balls than the other gents. There are good strikers that aren't great in holding up the ball, doesn't mean they can't be successful.

Jesus Christ give the man a chance??

He's played 29 minutes off the bench, 18 of which we were down to 10 men before he came on.

What exactly do you think he should have done?

Spot on ... Jose's judgement is wrong on this one.

If I was Remy I'd hand in a transfer request and get out quick!

He was poor all last season ... there will be no miracle improvement this one.

I wonder if the dodgy knees play a part in Falcaos form.

I remember him in Spain and he's one of them smaller players that seemed to score a lot of headers. He had an incredible leap. He doesn't seem to have that anymore.

As above though. I'm all for giving the guy a chance. He works his ass off.

He's had his chance for over a year now, we ain't miracle workers, the guy looks finished and Remy SHOULD be ahead of him.
