December 6, 20169 yr Still struggling to see what his best position is, i dont know many Prem clubs he would get a guaranteed start every week.
December 6, 20169 yr He'd need to drop down a division or 2. Don't think he's ever going to be good enough really, unless he gets his head down and really works instead of thinking he's made it already.
December 6, 20169 yr Thats what happens when you give a youngster a big ass contract before he has even played a first team game.
December 6, 20169 yr Send him to Newcastle on a 18 month loan if Rafa will take him, that's the best move he can make if he wants a shot at a place here long term.

You said cut our losses on a lad that is 20. Two years ago people may have said the same about Chalobah when he was that age, now most people would agree he should always be in the match day squad. I just really don't understand your thinking behind getting rid of a player that has as much natural talent as him.
December 13, 20169 yr Selling him would be silly at this stage, but I think a loan move would do him a world of good if the right opportunity arises.
December 13, 20169 yr Some nice words from Conte in his presser. Says if he keeps working hard he has a future and that he can 'count' on him. I do love to see the positivity from every angle with Antonio, as we've seen at United and with us in the past Mourinho belittles his players at time, and with the youth that's extremely harmful. There was a time when Ruben was the golden boy of our youth setup and I'm sure there's potential there, just need to nurture the talent and get him up to scratch. He has all the physical attributes and technical, it's more the work rate that has let him down. But if there's anyone to get your work rate going it's Antonio Conte! December 13, 20169 yr the Italian isn’t sure about sending the midfielder out on loan to gain experience just yet, believing that the 20-year-old has good potential. ‘For now he(Loftus-Cheek) is in our squad, but this season he has had a few injuries,’ Conte said on Tuesday. ‘There is a moment when I speak with my club and make the best decision. I think Ruben has good potential.’ He added: ‘He has great potential, it’s important to show this in order to improve. I count on him.’ I think he'll likely end up gong on loan. If he was likely to be getting minutes i think Conte would have shut the answer down straight away and said he was staying. Instead he seemed to avoid the question and says he needs to speak with the club.
December 13, 20169 yr I still don't think Conte knows what to do with him. He's not suited to the two man midfield. He's not really got the pace to play beind the striker. He's not a centre forward. Where do you play him? I just think there's better options, both first and second choice, for wherever he could play.
December 13, 20169 yr I think he's a box to box midfielder- his attributes and playing style are totally suited, in theory, to playing in the two man midfield. now clearly chalobah and fabregas are ahead of him at this point and he probably needs to learn how to play competitive football, so in the short term I don't see how keeping him around is going to help. if he goes out on loan and takes his chances I think in future he could compete for a place in that position.
December 14, 20169 yr I reckon he has to go on loan, with only the FA cup and EPL to play for Conte will pick pretty the team from the pool of 16-17 players every game. Chalobah had about 100 games on loan, that's why he's getting some minutes. RLC needs to prove himself at another EPL team.
December 14, 20169 yr I think if we ever changed up to a 352 or 433 in the future Ruben would be a starter. Much like at Juve when Pogba was the third man in the middle and given freedom he flourished. At Utd when he's been put in a 2 man midfield he's struggled. At England U21 the 3 man midfield of Lewis Baker/ Chalobah/ Ruben has dominated every team its come up against. For now a loan but by no means even consider selling.
December 14, 20169 yr Just wait for it, never lost my hope towards him. He's still young, still has to learn things and Conte has done some incredible things this season, he can work with him as well. His main problem is work-rate, he must work more on the pitch, he's quick, good physically, good with passing. Talented enough to play, but still has to learn.
December 14, 20169 yr I really hope Conte brings in Lampard to work with players such as RLC, I just think that the insight from Frank would absolutely revolutionize his gameplay. I think he has all the physical attributes to be a success but maybe lacks positional awareness which can only come through experience and working with the likes of Lampard.
December 22, 20169 yr I'm beginning to lose hope on RLC, I thought last season was the big chance for him to break in the team but it hasn't happened yet. He couldn't even make a few sub appearances this season, don't get me wrong I think Chalobah is a good player but I've always seen RLC having more potential. I agree a loan would be best for him, so everyone can see if he's actually good enough to be a regular for us.
December 22, 20169 yr Apparently FSW wants him on loan http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/12/newcastle-want-chelsea-central-midfielder-loan-second-half-season-reports-newcastle-united/
December 22, 20169 yr If he gets games there then I think it's a move that's good for all parties. If he impresses they may take him on loan again next season in the PL.
