Thats an excellent idea, cant imagine why that hasnt been thought of sooner.

Maybe, just maybe, its because theres no such thing as guaranteed playing time. And when a player cant break through its «another pointless loan from the board». If Lewis-Baker was loaned to Palace last year and not given a look in, people would be up in arms. Cant win

its been thought of plenty of times, just instead we prefer Vitesse for some odd reason.

If RLC can force himself into palace this season, then so can Baker (at least he would have last year) because he was always more developed. Lower end premier league teams are the ones we should be aiming to loan out players too. im sick and tired of all these loans to sh*tty leagues and with even sh*tter teams

There's a time and place for sending players there. Putting kids in the PL where they're over their heads doesn't help. The 4 we currently have at Vitesse would not make it into the teams at the bottom of the league. Maybe Baker does now but 2 years ago before he went to Vitesse I doubt he would have.

Aina is struggling to put in good performances at Hull. He wouldn't survive playing for Bournemouth for example. Do Dasilva, Mount, Dabo, or Tomori look ready for PL football right now?

Further Baker is also struggling to get game time for a Championship team ... yet we have people claiming he should have been sent to a BPL team 2 years ago .

Aini is one of the bright sparks for Hull this season in a largely poor team. Defending in the premier league is much different to the Championship. A player can struggle with the physicality of the lower leagues but thrive in the prem, Kane being the perfect example. If a loan fails in a league that has very little similarity to the prem then it means very little. If they do however fail on loan in the prem, then we should worry.

That's a really interesting video for me. Everton are a very physical side, particularly under Unsworth, and Ruben shows a lot more aggression and tenacity than I've ever seen. He also shows a lot of strength. In short, he seems more willing to impose himself, and it may be because he feels more confident after playing so well for England. Apparently he's quite a timid character off the pitch and maybe this translates on to the pitch at times, which some mistake as laziness or arrogance. I know for a fact shy people are often mistaken for rude because they seem aloof but really it boils down to a lack of confidence. Playing regular football at long last and feeling valued may do wonders for him. Now he just needs to get a goal and play on a winning side in order to give his confidence a further boost. He's definitely got the ability. He just oozes class.

Would love it if he could come in next year and battle for Baka's spot.

It'd give both players good competition.

Turning out to be a great loan move for him, would love to see him in the position Bakayako played today. I like Baka but looks like Rubens could offer so much more in the position.

I think he'd fit in better where Danny played

If he wasnt a Chelsea loanee and I was suggesting we sign this player who is doing well at the worst club in the premier league you would say I'm mad. No one is suggesting we sign zaha...

He needs 2 seasons away before I can be convinced.

He doesn’t need another loan season. What else do you expect from him now, to win the league for Palace? If he keeps this form and forces his way into the England World Cup squad, you can’t tell him to go out on loan next season again.

We go that route, and I would expect him to hand in a transfer request. He will slot in nicely into Liverpool & Spurs midfield as things stand.

Then fine, let him compete at Liverpool or spurs and we get a healthy fee for him. I don't think he would actually be first team there anyway.

We aren't trying to compete with those clubs, they aren't going to win the league anytime soon, we need to be.

Christensen was champions league level starting defender for two years. Loftus cheek is not and has never shown he is consistently at the level to be a first team Chelsea player. The only reason anyone thinks he could be is because he is an academy product.

I'd rather we sign zaha if we are going into crystal palace players.

(And id expect him to influence the game so much that palace are a top 12 club, similar to how Kante influenced leicester).

I rate Zaha and if we weren't already stacked with quality in his position i would take him. Loftus Cheek is a player we own, he is more than proving himself, the pundits nothing but praise him. Yeah if we were fully covered in midfield i would say staying on loan is the right move, but right now he would walk into the team as our 3rd best midfielder after cesc and kante, if we continue with 3 down the middle he could start most games. Bring him back, 1. He improves us, 2. He's young and full of potential, 3. He would be the first youth product to break through for years.

Drinkwater has shown more in the minutes he's played than anything loftus cheek has done for us or palace in 3 years.

Pundits like a narrative. Chelsea not producing talent was the first narrative, now that we are it's that we don't give them a chance. He has been given a chance and at palace he hasn't been good enough, the team are in the bottom 3. If he was elevating that club to mid table then my mind might be changed.

He doesn't improve us, he's a rotation player at best. Bakayoko is also young. 3 is irrelevant, we need the best not "our own"

He's 21, if he doesn't want a season on loan at a better club than palace to improve him like Christensen had, then i say we cash in.

My mind could be changed, but he needs to be playing a lot better than he is now.

My opinion is that if he cant displace Baka at least he provides competition for that spot. Which will improve us over all. Bring him back, give him his chance.

You watched how many game for him ? I don't think you understand why we talking about his quality this season.

Since start of season he plays well, he was called for the national team after only 8 games for Palace, he has only 21. And it's only his first season where he plays regularly.

Whether he finish the season with 10 goals and 5 or 4 assists, what's you gonna tell ?

If he does that then it's a different story. He has one goal and 0 assists? I've watched him, I also watched the England game he played where he was massively overhyped afterwards.

It is his first season playing regularly, my point is be needs two and ideally the second in a better team.

If he wasn't a Chelsea player no one would be suggesting we sign him to replace Baka. Do you agree?

If he wasn't a Chelsea player we'd be wanting to smack 40M on him. He's already outperformed anything Barkley has done in his career and we wanted him. The only reason he hasn't been first choice at Chelsea is because we already have him.
