January 13, 20179 yr This is terrible news, especially at this stage of the season. And an uninterested Costa is best just dropping!
January 13, 20179 yr Every week now the obscene figures coming out of China are getting getting bigger, what happens when they offer Eden £1m a week. Don't scoff, the way its going who knows.

The voice of reason, lets wait it out and see what happens over the next few days. If we had a pound for every mountain made out of a molehill in the transfer rumour field we could afford to build the new stadium ourselves.

If this happens won't be long till others are tempted eventually My understanding is that was just as throwaway comment from some Communist Party functionary, it's business as usual for the foreseeable future.

January 13, 20179 yr In all seriousness... I think (hope?) the press are making a mountain out of a molehill. 1) Despite the claims that Diego has refused to train for the past three days, there is footage of him in training on the club's Twitter feed from yesterday. 2) Diego's an emotional guy. If he was about to leave Chelsea every time he had a row with someone at the club he'd probably have never made a single appearance for us. 3) If every transfer bid from China was taken seriously and actually took place, there would be about three players left in the Premier League: Billy Jones, Adam Federici, and Matty James. 4) Despite the reports that Diego has been 'dropped', is it not possible that he's just injured? Extrapolation: Diego won't be in the squad tomorrow because he's injured. He had a row about it with one of the fitness coaches; Conte got involved although no one actually knows what each side was arguing or who said what. It's possible that he is subject of a transfer bid from a club in China; I imagine that is irrelevant. At least some of the 'facts' the press have reported about this are completely wrong or invented. Conclusion: The press have blown this out of all proportion. Edited January 13, 20179 yr by PloKoon13

I was just saying similar to my mate who's Chels, I think its a case of Chinese Bid + Injury/row = Costa's off to China.

Exactly, a predictable case of post hoc ergo propter hoc from an incompetent press. As if reporting news that Champion of England Jeff Schlupp has gone to Palace isn't exciting enough! January 13, 20179 yr Lol, costa hasn't trained in 3 days? He posted a video of the training ground being snowed out and he was entering the training building. Lol
January 13, 20179 yr For the superstitious people out there, you know what day it is today don't you ? Friday the 13th

It's just down to he wanted to go back to Spain not long ago and now thinking of China!! Professionally it's the end of his career, poor league, 3 year deal, no chance of playing for Spain again. So it would be just about the money. In the real world, I'd take the best offer, but football isn't a normal job, It's supposed to mean more than money, or at least it used to mean more. If he wants more money, go at the end of the season, not in January when we're top of the league, if it's true then obviously we know what the fans mean to him, nothing. I hope it's media speculation, otherwise this sport is alienating me so much, I'm thinking what is the point anymore? Edited January 13, 20179 yr by Floyd25

We should start our own team, you only get paid in the mutual respect and adoration of your fans. I want to be feel the love JT feels. Not from teammate's birds, from the fans.

Costa has already switched continents once, probably doesn't not have ambitions to become the best player in the world any more, much easier to buy his soul.

January 13, 20179 yr Slightly worried but I'm sure that Conte has the people skills and man management to keep him on track and be mates again. Drogba seemed to be leaving every season and look how that turned out. Hopefully just a minor bust up, there's no way that we will sell him.

January 13, 20179 yr A bit worrying that it's supposedly a lower back complaint, which just like in the case of Payet can't actually be diagnosed.
