August 4, 201510 yr Such negativity, absolutely comical. Could it be Mourinho just wanted to rest him for a game that actually mattered? Come Saturday night when he has started and scored half you will be coming on a giving it the big one "haha told you so, never in doubt, what a player, blah blah blah"

Come Saturday night when he has started and scored half you will be coming on a giving it the big one "haha told you so, never in doubt, what a player, blah blah blah" I think mourinho said he is a doubt for the weekend.. I may be mistaken though. I can't help but feel that this is likely to be an ongoing issue and one which will require some serious rotation in our forward line this season, which makes it all the more surprising for me that we went in for falcao its brave from jose I'll give him that. worry that this could be a repeat of 2013/2014. close but with a lack of a regular goal scoring machine we might find ourselves coming up short.
August 4, 201510 yr Its definitely a concern that he doesn't appear to be 100% over the hamstring problem, but until he is sidelined for a run of games I don't understand some of the comments like "we've seen the best of him" etc. I wish I had a crystal ball like some here seem to have! August 4, 201510 yr This is a big problem and has the potential to derail our season. If Costa is going to miss games then our back ups don't fill me with confidence. Remy is a great sub to have but he's not a starter and Falcao is a massive gamble. This is why Bamford would've been useful to have in the first team squad. Otherwise we're just going to have to go look for a striker as a panic buy. Jose must be concerned that his planning has just gone up in smoke. Because you can bet that he was counting on a fit Costa for most of the campaign. Edited August 4, 201510 yr by Socrates

August 4, 201510 yr Feel like I've stumbled on to rawk. Every wherr I turn is pessimism and negativity and all this over one loss against arsenal in the community shield.
August 4, 201510 yr Feel like I've stumbled on to rawk. Every wherr I turn is pessimism and negativity and all this over one loss against arsenal in the community shield. It does seem to have gotten pretty out of control on here recently.
August 4, 201510 yr It does seem to have gotten pretty out of control on here recently. It's our excitement at the title then expectation to dominate in the England for the next five years talk of bale and pogba coming in all to have cold water thrown on it, get no one and realise we are going to spend like arsenal for the next five years then add the charity shield loss, I think people are just disappointed but the real supporters will get over it and knuckle down behind the team again the fair weather friends are welcome to move on
August 4, 201510 yr I spoke about talkchelsea forum recently and it seems their members have joined here too lol.

Come Saturday night when he has started and scored half you will be coming on a giving it the big one "haha told you so, never in doubt, what a player, blah blah blah" No one would be more happy than me, fact is, he was injured when we bought him, it reoccurred last season, and its happened again this season. They are just facts, hoping he will be fit and score is well, just hope. I don't expect another title this year tbh but it doesn't bother me too much, maybe time to take stock and see some youngsters come through. Top 3 will do fine
August 5, 201510 yr Mourinho told talkSPORT: “I have to be honest and say that it is a bit of a concern. “A player that didn’t finish the season and doesn’t start the season obviously doesn’t make make me happy. “The boy is trying hard but he has a problem against Barcelona, the next day the scans show there is no injury so the next day he trains but the next day he is not comfortable 24 hours before the game we don’t know if he plays or doesn’t play. “It is not a good feeling for him, it is not a good feeling for me.”
August 5, 201510 yr If scans are showing no problem and he keeps having this then what can we really do about it? It's a nightmare situation in reality.
August 5, 201510 yr Don't worry. Bamford will be immense and come back to chelsea to claim his rightful place as the guy to lead our line, and the best english striker in EPL history. Put money on it!
August 5, 201510 yr I was quite optimistic about our strike force this year but after watching Falcao on Sunday, seeing Remy not understand the offside and Costa with his never ending hamstring problems, I am slightly worried.
August 5, 201510 yr Some people have gone off Remy based on one match. I'm comfortable having him lead the line and whatever Falcao manages to do is a bonus.

Top 3 will do fine Wonder if Roman can be content with top 3. Maybe he's matured, maybe not. I guess we will see. I wouldn't be completely schocked if José gets sacked by Roman this year if we get behind. I'm not saying it would make sense, just aware it's a possibility. I think there is tension over the Cech deal and a lack of funds personally. We'll see!
August 5, 201510 yr i have never been impressed with remy whenever he's started games, or in general. i mean he has the look of a guy who is just going through the motions. I know he is capable of coming up with a goal, but i wouldn't be assured that he could lead the line for us and worry opposing teams too much. i am still dubious about costa, even after last season. i know his goal tally was really good and all, but he just doesn't do anything outstanding to me and i rarely see him take shots on from outside the box, and his ball control is kind of clumsy. such as shame as i think we really f**ked up not going for aguero when we had the chance, or even putting in a large bid for suarez when there were talks of him going to arsenal/moving away from liverpool. i shouldn't be too harsh on costa, but i just feel he is somewhat limited as a striker and in his abilities as a player. August 5, 201510 yr Some people have gone off Remy based on one match. I'm comfortable having him lead the line and whatever Falcao manages to do is a bonus. Agree with this! Remy plays off the last defender, so I would have expected Jose to have given instructions to the players behind him to look for him quickly instead of cutting back and checking every time. Him ending up offside several times is due to the fact our creative players tend to overplay and are not direct enough.

See, this is what confuses me. You don't rate Remy who is a proven goal scorer and is still scoring goals. You're still unsure on Diego Costa, even though he scored 20 goals in his first season in the Premier League. But you think Falcao is still good even though he hasn't been the same player he once was for well over a year now, only scored 4 goals for United last season and has been equally as poor for his country. It doesn't really make any sense.
August 5, 201510 yr Despite a dodgy hamstring he was still up there, percentage wise, with Aguero for scoring. Players exert themselves and it's bound to take its toll. Let's all hope this talented young man has this resolved not just for us, but his career.

It doesn't really make any sense. that is true and i am not disregarding costa's scoring abilities entirely, i just think he is a limited striker when comparing him to other strikers in the league and europe. i would take suarez, aguero, muller, tevez, lewandowski over him. I think a true striker should make his own goals out of nothing, and should be able to score goals from most areas of the final third, including taking shots outside the box. take drogba as an example, very rarely his goals were similar, he could pull off a 30/40 yarder from nowhere! this is why i like the aforementioned forwards as they're especially dangerous at this, whereas a lot of costa's goals have come from inside the box. I feel his control of the ball can be weak and he often comes across very clumsy and not the most comfortable with the ball at his feet. falcao is a striker capable of scoring different kinds of goals to costa, especially outside the box. i still think falcao will come good so i have that belief as if he comes into form he could easily displace costa. falcao may have lost a little pace, but he has always been a clinical finisher, even more so than costa, so i think if he gets the chances in games he will put them away for us in style. of course people will disagree, but this is just my opinion. if costa starts banging them in next season then i won't care where they come from, but i still think he has technical limitations as a footballer. August 5, 201510 yr Who cares if his goals come from inside the box? Would we get extra points if he scored a screamer? His goalscoring ability is immense, and he easily would've challenged Aguero for the golden boot if not for his injuries.
