November 7, 201510 yr Costa letting the team down really badly ATM. What is he actually offering. This big bad wolf? He is in most defenders' pockets. When has he ever dominated a defender? This supposed strength? Where is it? He is out muscled 9 times out of 10 by defenders and resorts to petty poking and niggly none sense. He was such a threat and so clinical last season. Sharp, predatory, fear-inducing for defenders. Right now: No pace to get away from anyone No confidence to shoot Constant dilly dallying Constant running into players Close to Zero aerial threat Close to Zero ability to hold up ball Close to zero ability to link up effectively No back to goal, no out muscling anyone... He needs another striker with him or he needs to be dropped. Edit: This post sounds angrier than it should. Costa was so frustrating to watch though, today... November 7, 201510 yr He is almost useless if he doesn't play aggressively. This "nice" Costa is terrible.
November 7, 201510 yr Today tbh he was a waste of a shirt, just like against Kiev Not sure of the stats but all game he avoided getting anywhere near the six yard box, didn't win anything and ran into defenders and lost the ball He had one shot which was saved and rest of the time did enough so as to not look ridiculous but come on, let's face it he was not committed or got stuck in. Disgrace to the shirt
November 7, 201510 yr He's been awful all season Overweight Lazy Getting caught up in nothing situations I'd cash in on him

November 7, 201510 yr After watching that analysis on MOTD I have to conclude that we've wrecked another top goal scorer - only Drogba has done the business where countless others have failed
November 8, 201510 yr The suarez or aguero of this world would be ideal but realistically edin dzeko would be a decent shout.. How about messi? lol never mind..
November 8, 201510 yr He is getting the Rooney Syndrome of coming deep to make things happen, almost worked with the link up play with Pedro but it was almost an exception as opposed to the norm. We hardly ever have anyone in the box and we never shoot when outside no wonder we struggle to score from open play.
November 8, 201510 yr He has also toned down his aggression on the pitch. This is a mistake as it makes him ineffective. Some players (like Rooney and Costa) play better when they are aggressive.

Some players (like Rooney and Costa) play better when they are aggressive.Toned down his aggression? Have you seen our last few games? Just because he hasn't been swinging elbows at player it doesn't mean he's been less aggressive. That certainly isn't his problem at the minute
November 8, 201510 yr His ball control and dribbling is awful. He doesn't seem capable of keeping possession of the ball for more than 2 seconds without being dispossessed. He is so frustrating to watch atm Edited November 8, 201510 yr by enigma
November 8, 201510 yr Only way I'd sell him is he we can sign Cavanni otherwise I have no clue who we would get. Maybe Zlatan for a season or two? Even him I'm unsure of espe sulky at his age. Although I have always felt Ibrahimovich should have played in England at some point in his career as he's kind if the perfect striker for the Premier League.

November 8, 201510 yr Costa is best as a poacher. We're not creating enough chances that allow for that. That's the single biggest reason he's been terrible this season. Lack of fitness just compounds that. A striker who can create his own chances is something we desperately need.

Really our goal machine youth Abraham, or Solanke, or Bamford would be better. Only worse option is Falcao....
November 8, 201510 yr How about Charlie Austin? Really our goal machine youth Abraham, or Solanke, or Bamford would be better. Only worse option is Falcao.... I would love for us to sign Austin but I don't think he'd be the best first choice in all the games. Could be wrong mind and tbh he'd probably be more effective than the three we have upfront right now.
November 8, 201510 yr I used to defend torres with that excuse.. funny old times.. But with Costa i think it's true. Torres used to create goals by himself before he joined us, Costa has never been that player. Costa is a goal poacher and he always has been.
November 8, 201510 yr Costa is becoming a parody of a sunday league player (apologies you leaguers) just wants to row with defenders....
November 8, 201510 yr Austin would be better than Falcao as a 3rd choice if he'd be willing Charlie Corrolli would be better than Falcao
November 8, 201510 yr Austin would be better than Falcao as a 3rd choice if he'd be willing Could be better than that, maybe second choice. An alternative when our main striker is not about. Though how best do you construct an entirely new striker list? 1st choice who is of a top caliber we can attract? 2nd choice a player like Austin is ideal, home grown, Chelsea fan etc. 3rd choice why not Bamford or one of the other young guys I mentioned above? All it takes is your first or second choice to be banned or injured and you get minutes, more minutes than Pat is getting at Palace anyways.
