Petr Cech to Arsenal

Featured Replies

Goodbye ?ech, thanks for the memories. As far as the Arsenal fans are concerned, you've got yourself a great keeper, guess what? So have we and you haven't got one over on us, the gloating is extremely cringeworthy and actually a little bit strange. I guess when you go for so long without the Premier League trophy, you celebrate the smallest of achievements, the truth is he only joined your club because he wasn't our first choice keeper anymore, not because he chose you over us, how you can gloat is extrodinary. Anyway, moving on, to anyone who has burned a ?ech shirt, or sent ?ech abusive messages on Twitter, you are about as close to being a real Chelsea fan, as I am to being the Prime minister of this country.

you've got my vote Floyd

Oohhh, I'm back in my English class. The teacher I had for 4 of the 6 years terrified me.

The poster is black for mourning.

Where's Moi? I love it when she corrects me.

It will be interesting to see how this affects the Mourihno/Roman relationship this time round, out of curiosity, and I am completely 100% asking this hypothetically before someone goes in to cardiac arrest while abusing me, would everyone still be happy we were a 'classy' club & sold him to a direct rival if it means we lose Jose because he's not in control of transfers?!

I must say it is a fear I have especially with what happened last time.

From all of Jose's comments about Cech's exemplary behaviour while Courtois was replacing him, and from all the amazing memories he has given us over the years (to me, he will always be the true hero of Munich), Cech goes with my blessing. He has behaved admirably and, whilst I wish he'd picked a different team to go to - really any other team - he has, in my view, earned the right to pick his next destination.

Not read through the thread, so don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but this is also good for the image of the club. If we are known as a club which treats its players well, this will help us recruit and keep personnel in the future. With so much in high-level football down to personal relationships, this is not to be laughed at.

Just back and trying to catch up with recent posts but to be honest I gave up after wading through 2 or 3 pages of arguments back and forth.

My thoughts for what their worth.....I am very sorry to see Petr Cech leave Our Club, even more sorry to see him go to the team I consider to be our biggest rivals for domestic trophies next season. In his years here with us he has been probably one of the best goalkeepers not just in Europe, but in the world.

Thanks for the memories Petr but please don't try too hard for the gooners.

Enough said about this matter. I hope he's happy and share the vision of Wenger to get a top 3 finish. I don't know how much we got for him, but at least we didn't lose Courtois to Arsenal or any other team for that matter. We will be fine for the next 10 years as far as first choice keeper goes. We won the title after we let go Mata and Luiz, maybe next season we will win the triple with Cech gone. Good luck to him, well, not really.

I think he still has a big say in transfers but this cech business is a special case. The only current player who will probably get the cech treatment is John terry. Mourinho didn't like this transfer but I think he'll also understand. Besides, deep down he doesn't consider wenger a rival/ threat regardless of who he buys

WTF is wrong with some slags chatting sh*te and threatening a proper legend?! clucking hate those anonymous slags on twitter! the man spent his peak years with us and won everything. if they can't deal with it they should wind it in and say nothing! as far as i am concern i'm not happy he's going to help the goonies but if someone offered him the number 1 berth who are we to judge him when he is no longer number 1 with us. if roman allowed it and JM not saying too much and us getting £12million then i would say it was a good deal for all concern. good luck to a proper blue legend.

I didn't shed any tears about Drogba or Lampard because I was with friends both times when it was announced, but today on my own I was crying, I'm very annoyed about this despite the fact we've basically had weeks to prepare for the day it happens. An excellent keeper, to spend 11 years watching him was a pleasure and is even closer to removing the legends that I grew up with, I don't know what I'll do when Terry calls it a day, if he ever moved to someone else in England I'd be devastated

Very honourable ... but utter shambles none the less ... potential huge own goal ...

Hence, our shocking transfer window Part 1 begins ... just looking forward to the lame Columbian duck joining us now ... hmmm.

I am all for Petr moving on from this club, one that he has spent an amazing decade battling for.  But there is something about him in a Gooner kit, that makes my insides turn.  They were biting at our heels last year and he has made them a better club.  If Jose doesn't have a Pogba, Sterling, Griezmann or Bale up his sleeve then we are not repeating next year.
