We was linked fairly heavily with Aaron Cresswell last summer, I'm thinking he would have been a better signing than Baba.

We've thrown far too much money at fullbacks in the last few years without actually improving the team which is frustrating.

Club needs to stop dicking about with signing these players like Baba, Kenedy etc who bring little to squad.

My main irritation is that once again a player who cost substantial money is being farmed out on loan rather than us cutting our losses and just selling them.

 

It's a bit harsh on Kenedy who can play LM or LB he is primarily known for playing outfield and he is still a young lad who could get better I think the Baba Rahman deal was the more questionable one when we have Nathan Ake who we refuse to give a chance for some odd reason...

But what was the point of the Kenedy deal?

We've got Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Cuadrado, Moses already on the books.

Then you've Traore as well.

Not counting the likes Musonda out of the academy as well.

It just felt like such a nothing purchase. He's not better than established seniors to dislodge them and there's not a clear gulf in quality that he's better than some of the young lads we already had.

I have no doubt Emanalo was behind Baba's signing. Never seemed to fit the profile of someone Jose would have actively seeked to sign. Having a medical at Schalke apparently.

In his role Emenalo and his team will be behind every signing. Another shocker with baba. Of all the left backs in the world....

When you put it like that you do have a point lol, our Youth situation has always been a headache Musonda is a top player as well.

 

I'd highly doubt that Moses will stay though him and Pedro yeah okay more I think about it god damn we really do need to get rid of the deadwood.

Quite embarrassing we've sent another player on loan who we spent over £20m on, only a year ago after the Cuadrado charade.

Kenedy is a prodigious talent and has the making of a player who could turn out better than anyone currently in the academy.  

We won't always have established seniors, players move on, get offered money from foreign leagues, lose form.  I don't think the club is above developing young players that haven't actually come out of the academy.  Did enough for me last season though he did get the opportunity that the academy players haven't had.

Disagree, I think Kenedy looks quality when ever he got a look in with us (in the correct position - not LB) offers more than the likes of Moses & Pedro for me, he just doesn't get the same amount of time as Pedro to prove it.

Why sign Kenedy when we went and bought Pedro?

A player like Kenedy will never get regular football at Chelsea, just look at how few minutes he has had during pre season.

He's going to be limited to late sub appearances and maybe league cup games and it'll hinder his development.

Then in a few years he'll be in no mans land and shipped out and replaced by the next young hopeful. It's been the case for twenty years now and I can't see Kenedy bucking the trend.

I don't really rate Rahman but i don't like the thought of going into the new season with Azpilicueta as our only choice at LB. If we don't have a replacement lined up then what the hell will we do if Azpilcueta get's injured ? i hope Kenedy isn't the backup to Azpilicueta because that would be crazy, Kenedy isn't a full back.

Photos have leaked on Twitter of him signing his contract.

Done deal already as far as I'm concerned.

Worries me that we are looking thin on the ground with experience and quality at full back.

Really hope we see some defensive reinforcements signed soon.

The guy cost us quite a bit for an unknown and if we are to get most of it back he's got to be playing well at some level. He basically hardly played for us so nobody's going to buy him at the moment.

 

I actually have no problem with our loan system as the borrowing club pays most/all of the players wages and they get to develop, of course it was kind of pointless under Jose but now we have Conte who will give anyone a chance if they're genuinely good.

Funnily enough the move means he'll be seeing European action unlike the rest of his Chelsea mates...

Selling now when his value is rock bottom, just because we have a lot og players already out ON loan would be an extremely poor business decision

They're probably thinking that if he can have a half decent season in Schalke, they'll get more money for him next year.
