30 appearances, 17 goals and 4 assists in all competitions for Tammy this season.

22 appearances, 10 goals and 3 assists in the League.

Really happy for him that's he's having a good season for Roma.

Personally, I still think he was harshly treated by Tuchel who, for whatever reason, just didn't seem to like him as a player.

I'm pleased for Tammy assuming reports are accurate that he is doing well.

Watched one match where he missed 4 sitters for Roma though he is scoring in others.

So trying to be objective have clicked on this, shot conversion rate for 20/21 at 18%

https://www.kickest.it/en/premier-league/stats/players/shot-conversion-rate/2020-2021?positions=4

To compare:

Cavani on 29.4%

Lacazette 28%

Ings 21%

I think its more a reflection of the Italian League that him and Lukaku look like top top strikers. I do think he was majorly harshly treated by Tuchel, but at the same time i dont think he was good enough and still dont. Shame really because he would of been a good squad player.

He was exactly what we needed in our squad this season, he scores goals and none of our other attacking players can. Ridiculous to sell him and send Broja out on loan at the same time.

This is the one thing I think Tuchel got really wrong, not because I think Abraham was the answer to our problems, but because I don't see why he couldn't have offered us as much (probably more) than what Lukaku has. Now we are stuck with a £100m striker that will probably hold us back for years instead of going for somebody more suited to how we want to play. There is often always a young striker that breaks through, you just need to be patient and wait for that player to emerge.

Tammy scored 15 goals for us 2 seasons ago.

It is more than patient, you need environment where young player can suceed. You can't ask young player your job is to lead the line, hold the ball, fight cb and score. They will struggle a lot and lose confidence, you need to give them smaller role and slowly give the more.

This is where veteran comes in. You need your older player to be able to do the more difficult role. This is what Willian and Giroud did very well for our attackers. They will hold up the ball, bring the ball forward, press and track back so all puli and tammy need to do is to create and get goals.

Why are you using goal conversion rates for last season and what is the reason for picking out those three players?

Top goal scorers last season in the Premier League were:

Harry Kane - 23 goals, 16.8%

Mo Salaha - 22 goals, 17.5%

Bruno Fernandes - 18 goals, 14.9%

Son Heung-Min - 17 goals, 25%

Patrick Bamford - 17 goals, 15.9%

So of last seasons top 5 goal scorers only one player had a better conversion ratio in the league than Abraham.

Also worth noting that Abraham had the highest conversion ratio in the league of all of Chelsea's attacking players last season.

Fairs points and on looking again at the page see there were further pages so not a good comparison.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

But some wrongs are much more damaging. Sticking with Abraham for another season would have hurt us a lot less than throwing £100m at a player we will be stuck with for years. It's not like we will suddenly go and bring in another striker with Lukaku on our books. He will have to go before we bring in another striker.

I'm not talking about some 18 year old kid, I'm talking about players that have been around for a few years and ready to go to the next level. You see players emerge like this regularly, like Vlahovic at Fiorentina. I'm not saying we should have signed Vlahovic, but it's these types of players we should be looking out for, not players like Lukaku who we know has huge weaknesses and is clearly not suited to how we want to play.

Tammy was awful for the majority of his time here last season, and hurt the team when playing, essentially seeing us playing with a man less.

Lukaku has been awful for the majority of this time here this season, and hurts the team when playing, essentially seeing us playing with a man less.

For me, it was absolutely the correct decision to let Bambi on Ice go. It remains to be seen if it was the correct decision to buy back Lukaku - current output suggests it wasnt.

Playing for Chelsea up top is more than simply finishing and putting the ball in the net (although that is a good place to start!) - if it was, then Batsman would be our first choice. Tammy want good enough, and we shouldnt let Lukaku's failures sugar coat that.

Fun fact:

Lukaku scored

2020/2021: 18 goals without penalties.

2019/2020; 17 goals without penalties.

Right now Abraham is on pace to score 17 goals without penalties.

"Italian" strikers are a dangerous commodity. Piatek and Immobile banging them in for fun in Italy, but utter flops in the free-flowing Bundesliga. Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic and Dzeko being top strikers as grandpas.

You need some proper level scouting to successfully predict the transferability of Italian scoring to other leagues imho.

When was the time when Tammy was 'awful' last season? He was mainly a bench player, but he was scoring when Lampard started him. Under Tuchel he didn't even get the chance.

To this day I still can't believe he wasn't even on the bench for the cup final...

Awful most of the time, just scroll back through this thread to see the complaints.
