I feel sorry for Jose but not the players.

They had 30 mins against a knackered Stoke team with 10 men and they bottled it. Kenedy and Traore are exempt from that.

Pot shots from 20 yards plus aside yet again we looked devoid of ideas in attack.

Personally I thought we were poor after the first half and it's really not good enough.

Game of four halves, one we played very well in , one we struggled after going behind, one we didnt show enough urgency and one we didn't have the legs left. Not sure why we chose to take the second penalty if Stoke chose the end.

Listened to it on 5 live, extra time against a 10 man stoke should have been our opportunity, had a gut feeling haz was gonna miss, not sure what his penalty was like, but from the past he always try to be too fancy and it seems the goalkeepers now have him sussed out now. Oh well, another loss, this season sucks.

At least we didn't lose because of terrible defending. 

Got to be proud of the boys tonight. They rolled their sleeves up and we absolutely battered Stoke for large parts of that game. Didn't deserve to lose but at least the signs were positive. Feel for Hazard who still isn't at his best but he showed glimpses tonight and we tore them to pieces at times. We just need to score some f**king goals!!!

Good run out in preperation for the real competetion on Saturday. Effort with very little end product. We look blunt up top, but at least played with energy once Kennedy and Traore came on. Personally I hope both are in and around the squad in place of Falcao and Ramires this weekend.

Extra time against ten men was an awful performance bar the first few minutes. We looked utterly clueless about how to play against ten men. Ponderous and lacking ambition going forward. Despite being a man up, when we attacked,we often had three men against seven and,at most, one in the box.

Bang on! Who is our attacking coach? Do we even have one? Our movement in the final third is well awful; players are static, no width, no triangles.

Loz, if I have one critasisem is  that there was a small lack of coheishen with the new boys when they came on. Either trust or just not aware of the runs but often, we would look to make it a  bit harder on our selves with forcing the pass. But this is a team low in confidence and thats bound to happen. I still say Stoke's keeper was their best player

I agree with this to an extent, however, none of our players can shoot. This isn't anything new though to be honest we had the same problem in the second half of last season and it still hasn't been addressed.

In the first half i thought we looked pretty decent. We were moving the ball around, it was tidy, we were creating chances, we just don't seem to have any finishers in the team anymore. Second half was poor, as soon as we conceded the goal our confidence took a big hit and we started giving it away and going back to hitting it long, luckily we got the goal injury time to keep us in it. Extra time was poor, we just kept slowing down play when we approached their box. We had a few shot's at goal but they were just hit and hope shot's really. Pens were fine, what happened to Hazard doesn't surprise me one bit though, it seem's to be something that happens a lot in football when you are out of form.

 

Another frustrating defeat out of the way, let's hope we don't have another against Liverpool.

 

Oh, and Stoke are still the dirty bar stewards they were under Pulis. That prick Adam get's away with it more than any other player in the leauge.

Traore and a nice little left foot effort saved by the leg of the keeper, any other day it goes in. 

He also tipped kennedys shin round the post.

Traore had another effort i believe tipped over the bar, maybe it was just going over.

Willian I thought had scored with a screamer that wistled past the post. 

 

We got our seleves in the right area's. Stoke score from open play with one of only two efforts. It's just not rolling but it will come. 

Hazard for his improved contribution, still doesn't look fit.

Hazard looks like he's had his confidence sucked out, Costa's contributions to matches is just getting angry and the less said about Fabregas the better.

 

I'm pissed because I don't want us to go back to having a new manager every season but it's getting increasingly hard to see how this can be turned around. The press will be at Mourinho's back the entire season, what slim chance we have of getting top 4 requires an incredible run of form that just doesn't look possible.
