Mikel and his "relaxed" atmosphere. No wonder he never lived up to his expectations.

I did the unthinkable too (that is to criticize Jose, right?). Pls lay into me as you just did mikel.

Personally think the others are doing a fine job. You think Mikel has been a success? He had talent to do more.

Interesting article on Conte that I picked up on Twitter...

http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/serie-a-showcase/conte-2/

That is an excellent and interesting article. Shows how adaptable is and is some ways, there will be a lot of similarities between Juve and Chelsea. After reading that, I can see why the board have him at their number one choice. He certainly has done a lot more than Simone has.

Be a bit disappointed to not get Simeone.

He would have been the best choice IMO.

True, but i think the guy is loving it at Atletico Madrid right now. I don't blame him to be honest. It must feel good to be competing with Real Madrid and Barcelona.  It's not easy for any club to get involved in title races in that league with Barcelona and Real Madrid around.

Yeah I don't blame him at all.

We are a mess right now and currently don't even look like having European football at all next season.

Why would he give up a team on the up to move to one in turmoil?

I suppose I saw him as the natural replacement for Jose and one who would probably mean we keep our better players like Costa (Who would have loved to be playing for him again).

Conte is just not someone I can see doing well in England for various reasons.

Hopefully the choice we make works out.

Said he doesn't care about money. Would look really stupid if he then joins us afterwards.

Well only if he joined for that sole reason.

He might see Chelsea as a bigger club who can attract the better players plus enhance his own CV with success in the most competitive and top league in the world.

That being said I doubt he would join, he clearly has a special connection with Atletico and maybe unfinished business.

I'm not. I don't think some people realise how dire the football Atletico Madrid actually play is.

I'd be really happy with Conte.

I wonder what you expected him to do when out of favor.

Maybe there was a reason he was out of favor with so many managers. He was great in our CL run when we were ultra defensive. Other than that, not much.

He just isn't that good. He had talent when he came and I think if he had a little more drive could have been much better. He always had the personnel to hone his skills around him. But didn't.

By March, #Chelsea want to decide who their manager will be - Conte seems to be ahead in the talks but nothing has been decided yet. [sky]

Chelsea will not go beyond mid-March to announce the coach for next season (Gazzetta dello Sport) #CFC

Sounds like we will find out soon then. Maybe agree a deal in March and announce in April/May.

Very encouraging to see hes on board with our youth situation especially. Maybe he's the man to see us make strides in bringing them through

? That's dreamland my friend.

Absolutely no chance any manager will be coming in and playing the yoofs. None whatsoever. Roman would never in a million years want that and no manager would last a month if he tried it, (not that any would have the balls to).

What utter rubbish, it is very obvious that Roman desperately wants youth players to make it, just look at his joy when RLC got his goal.

Supposedly Conte wants Vidal
