Right now Emerson is to good to drop from LB would like to see Christensen/Rudiger CB pairing more often though and obviously Azpi at RB as usual

In terms of how Sarri likes to play Luiz fits in perfectly but defensively I think rudiger is better he still has a mistake in him at times though.

I imagine the penny has dropped he's onto a good thing here. He will get into the first team as Luiz will eventually make way and we aren't going to be able to sign anyone else. 

Or the penny has dropped he'd be unlikely to walk into a team on our level and have to take a step down and a pay cut to move on. 

Still think him and Luiz is our best partnership though.

I still dont see what all this fuss is about this guy. Most Chelsea fans want him in the start eleven over Luiz, id have Luiz over Christensen all day long. Christensen craps himself any time he gets closed down.

He is not confident on the ball, which is probably a big reason why Sarri doesn't pick him much.

That's why he needs a good run of games to build up his confidence cause he wasn't like that in Germany and Pep wouldn't be a fan of his if he was. 

I'm a fan of his and think he should be starting next to Luiz but to be honest, if he wasn't a Chelsea lad would we be looking at signing him? I very much doubt it.

He's 23 now, and there are players out there both younger and better (De Ligt, Upamecano, Militao, Lucas Hernandez). Needs to improve and control games if he wants to be a nailed on starter for us. 

He played well last season under Conte consistently until fatigue set in.  This year, he has been replaced by the guy he replaced the year before, not because of his defensive abilities, but because he doesn't pass like a midfielder.  He's a kid that seems to thrive with confidence, and Sarri hasn't given him enough of that.

I see it a bit differently, I think he sees Luiz as being crucial for when the press is on due to his outlet to midfield and attack by his accurate long ball even though defensively he is suspect at times.

This leaves Christensen competing with Rudiger for the second spot. Sarri by using him in Europe and the cups has sought to keep him engaged.

He is confident on the ball. He just needs a run of games. Confidence is a big thing. He is very composed when he is in his stride.

Christiansen is too light weight for me. He doesn't win many physical battles, which is always going to be a problem for a cb.

I agree he is definitely light weight for a centre back, still developing physically though. I think when he is on his game, his anticipation can make up for his lack of physicality.He could certainly benefit from putting on some muscle though.

I see him more of a carvalho, intelligent and calm, but he needs some of Rickys dark arts in his game, he is too nice. 

The centre back situation is a strange one, we have some good options, but none really seem to fit. I think all 3 would be good next to a real leader of men type organizer. Rudy tries to be that guy, but positionally he gets caught out too much for me, I think he would be better concentrating on his own game, and letting his partner dictate more. It's just a pity his partner is David Luiz, who doesnt always cover himself in glory defensively either.
