July 6, 201610 yr I think that Chelsea fans need to see attacking football, like Ancelotti back in 2009-2010. Do you see Conte doing us the favor?
July 6, 201610 yr What Chelsea fans need is for the club to back a manager over petulant players. If they don't like his methods or his tactics then they can sod off as far as i'm concerned.
July 6, 201610 yr I think that Chelsea fans need to see attacking football, like Ancelotti back in 2009-2010. Do you see Conte doing us the favor?Yep. He's started off at Juve with some pretty aggressive attacking football playing 424/433 before changing the tactics, despite that his team scored goals despite most teams just sitting back against Juve in his second and third yr.

So far this season hasnt started and there's no clear indication the players' will perform like season.

We can only base off their most recent showing where they came off as petulant brats. Which continued in the Euros with players like Tibo mouthing off. Edited July 6, 201610 yr by JoseBlues

July 6, 201610 yr I always thought the sight of Jose parading himself around Manchester would make me crumble and lacerate my morale, but it hasn't really. The main reason being that Conte is incoming and seeing what he's done with Italy has been a joy and I'm buzzing for next season now (permitting we get a destroyer in midfield and a tactically astute defender to sure things up). Call me a sh*te if you want, but my favourite Chelsea moments have been when we were industrious bullies and got the job done. Irrespective of how ugly it can be to watch at times, when Chelsea did this they had that little bit of guile and finesse in the other end of the pitch to outclass opponents when it mattered. That for me would be the summation of Conte this summer, and from the few Juventus games I saw when he was at the helm, and that's what has me excited. That and the fact he got the best out of the players he had, makes me wonder who he can elevate in this Chelsea team. That's just my 2 cents, and I can't wait for the next season...
July 6, 201610 yr Joust, top post. Let the bullying begin, but please lets not harass the refs this season, make it a top priority, I really hope Holland gets this point through to Conte before we head into the season, Costa (if he stays) and some others need to cut out the sh*t they give the officials, it only does us harm if we don't.
July 6, 201610 yr It's a shame Jose and Pep didn't come in next season instead of this, with Pellegrini, Van Gaal as the main threats and Klopp managing a beyond inconsistent Scouse team, Conte would have had a clear run at the title in my opinion. Oh well, hard way it is.
July 6, 201610 yr Conte looks promising but is an unknown in this league. He knows Italy really well and it is no surprise he did well with that team. I am excited but reinging it in till at least December.
July 6, 201610 yr Totally agree with Joust on that one. I miss when we had powerhouses in midfield and defence who just physically dominated opponents, Maka, Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Gallas, Cole, some of them weren't the most technical players, but were supreme athletes who could take the game to the opponent. Hopefully Conte can re-instil some of that fight in our team
July 6, 201610 yr What Chelsea fans need is for the club to back a manager over petulant players. If they don't like his methods or his tactics then they can sod off as far as i'm concerned. It depends on the situation. If say come November, the results aren't flowing freely but we are in a relatively respectable position in the table (at absolute worst 7th), with good signs towards the future and enough indication that when Conte gets rid of the players not suited to his style and replaces them with players who are we will reap the rewards, then absolutely 100% i will agree with that statement you have made. If on the other hand we are fighting relegation playing sh*t on a stick football with every player apart from Willian playing like total amateurs (and even he wasn't as good as people made out), then no, i will totally disagree with what you have said.
July 6, 201610 yr Fully agree on the bullying thing, I'm sick of watching our midfield get outnumbered and bossed in games.
July 6, 201610 yr Unless we make some midfield signings, we will continue to be bullied. Conte is not going to help that from the touchlines
July 6, 201610 yr Every time I see him, I think he is a Bond villain. He should have some sort of exotic cat with him at all times.
July 6, 201610 yr Every time I see him, I think he is a Bond villain. He should have some sort of exotic cat with him at all times. Sadly we sacked her
July 6, 201610 yr Looks abit Tom Cruiseish there Cruise would sh*t his pants, and call for his stunt double if he met Conte.
July 6, 201610 yr Fully agree on the bullying thing, I'm sick of watching our midfield get outnumbered and bossed in games. Me too. God, what i'd give for a fast attacking front 3 (or however many Conte wants to play), with some serious defenders in behind them. Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Makelele...it makes me do something I rarely do in life: yearn for the past
July 6, 201610 yr I think the thing that we can be sure of is that Chelsea will be hard to be beat. You look at other teams like City, Liverpol and Arsenal and they are relatively easy to beat. Conte beat some good teams with a pretty poor Italian side. It will go a long way being hard to beat.
July 6, 201610 yr Looks abit Tom Cruiseish there I wish you hadn't said that, I can't stand Tom Cruise.
July 6, 201610 yr Got the goalkeeping coach he wanted now according to Independent. Really. I will be amazed if lollipop has gone.
