July 1, 201610 yr I was talking to my mate the other day, he said that it might be possible that Conte plays Hazard as a second striker in a 3-5-2. I felt it could work but it might limit him too much. Thoughts?

July 1, 201610 yr I doubt it if Morata and the boy from Marseille are coming in. Neither pair up well with Costa though
July 1, 201610 yr i really cant see us playing 3-5-2 next season, our best player Hazard simply doesn't fit into that formation
July 1, 201610 yr i really cant see us playing 3-5-2 next season, our best player Hazard simply doesn't fit into that formation I actually think Hazard could be devastating in this role with a good second striker. If the other striker mainly works between the posts and Hazard is given free rein to roam it could work really well. I can see the arguments against this with Costa but it doesn't mean it wouldn't work with the right partner. This isn't a dig against Costa (who i do think is on his way though) but with strike partners its about chemistry. We could lose a massive name like Costa and end up with Pelle which on the face of it looks like bad business. But it already looks like this guy coming in is all about systems and player chemistry. On the one hand i want Italy to win the Euros so i can keep watching this guy's tactics, formations and team motivation. On the other hand i want them to bomb because i cannot wait for him to get stuck into our squad. Conte appears to be a force of nature and i hope he has the strength of character to blow all the cobwebs, politics and BS out of the club and really turn us around. From the outside there are so many players that we have and don't use, when i see what he has done with Pelle and Giacherrini, Conte must surely be able to mould a really exciting team from our extended squad.

Conte could get Hazard to play a similar role. Courtois Ivanovic - Zouma - Terry Willian - Matic - Fabregas - Kenedy Hazard Batshuayi - Costa We still need a new CB, Koulibaly would be high up on my list, Kante or Diarra in midfield, and a LWB, Asamoah would be ideal as he can play in midfield also and another ST to replace Remy. That role isnt ideal for Hazard, but if Conte does want to play 3-5-2 i cant see Hazard being used as a wingback, maybe playing as a striker could be where he ends up in that formation. July 2, 201610 yr Oh God, no 352, just no. We don't have the personnel for it. A 424 with a new CM could work
July 2, 201610 yr So when does officially start now they're out? Presumably he'll have a short break before coming and join mid July?
July 2, 201610 yr We play our first match of the preseason on the 16th, maybe he will take some days off and resume sometime next week.

July 3, 201610 yr Antonio Conte said he had no support in his role as Italy coach, as his two-year reign ended with the defeat to Germany in the Euro 2016 quarterfinals. On television after the game, the coach, who is leaving Italy to take over Chelsea, praised his players for giving their all despite the bitter exit on penalties. He also thanked Italian football association (FIGC) president Carlo Tavecchio, but his evaluation of the media and Serie A was far less positive in his postgame news conference. "I didn't see anyone alongside me, the media, or anyone, it was always Conte against everyone," the manager said. "I've always fought for the interests of the national team, not for myself. "If I'm honest I've never felt supported by anyone. The president of the Italian federation has always been alongside me but he can only do so much. My decision has been taken, it's a shame as we have created a family and I hope what we leave can bear fruit." Conte had been trying for months to shift the date of the Coppa Italia final, withTavecchio accusing the Serie A authorities in January of undermining the national team by refusing to schedule it before the end of the league season. Juventus and AC Milan played the cup final on May 21 as planned, leaving Conte without seven players for an extra week as he prepared to compete in France. "I hope in the future we can give more time for the national side," Conte said. "I fought in vain to move the Coppa Italia final as I wanted to work with the players because our only chance of achieving something great, our only hope, was to work as a small war machine. "I think we have proved that today, and throughout the European Championship. "I hope that we can really leave a lasting mark in terms of love for the national team and for the shirt. We have tried to put this message across and I hope it's been conveyed despite our elimination." But Conte added that overall he enjoyed his time in charge of the Azzurri, though he was also very excited to take over the Blues in London. "I have had two wonderful years culminating in this eight-week period and I will never stop thanking everyone as we created a magical atmosphere which came to an end tonight," he said. "The decision to leave the national team after a two-year spell was made before the tournament. In November I thought I was continuing, but when I made my decision not to continue with the national team I told the president my decision after which there was a great opportunity to move to Chelsea and I accepted that. Now I have the pleasure to begin this very exciting adventure. "In a few days' time the new season will begin and, to be honest, I wouldn't like to have had a single day's holiday as that would have meant going forward in the European Championship. "Now I'll take seven days off when I will try to shift some of this disappointment for going out of the competition before then taking the reins at Chelsea. I know it will be a difficult challenge but that's what I relish."
July 3, 201610 yr Italy had a hard time with injuries and their draws too. Winning the group and having to go up against Spain and Germany kind of takes the piss considering the teams who didn't win their groups got easier draws. Kudos to Conte and Italian players for fighting hard throughout the tournament though
July 3, 201610 yr I can't wait for the day he's officially unveiled and we hear him address the media and supporters for the first time as Chelsea coach. I've been very impressed with what he produce with Italy in Euro 2016. Very confident we're in good hands under him provided he's given 100% backing and he has the right support network around him.

July 3, 201610 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36696116 The BBC have done an article on Conte. Great interview with Costacurta. He was a fine defender. One of that great AC Milan back four.
July 3, 201610 yr I was impressed by how Conte managed the Italian team. Let's be honest, it's a pretty crap team, and he managed to get better of Spain/Belgium, and held Germany for 120 minutes. There's nothing he could do about the clowns who took the penalty, apart from picking them. He's very good and extracting the most out of his players, whether that could last the whole season with us is remain to be seen. I couldn't care less about the style of football we will be playing, we just need to get back into the top 4. Let's hope Roman and his minions not judging Conte too soon.
July 5, 201610 yr Conte is good. Regards Charles www.dealsharvest.com With incredible insight like this I just have to visit your website....
July 5, 201610 yr Not even great, exceptional or excellent…just plain old ‘good’. He needs to work on his pitch!
July 6, 201610 yr Says a lot when Conte was manager of an incredibly average Italy side and can take them to the Quarter finals and beat some of the biggest teams in the game, yet Hodgson was with England for 4 years and still didn't know his best formation and starting 11.. Looks like we have a gem in our hands with Conte.

Roy is actually a very arrogant, deluded man.Check out his quotes when he was Liverpool manager, comedy gold, he even went as far as saying we would consider him as good as Fergie if we studied his CV properly.
