Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

I'm not worried. Conte had some fantastic players at Chelsea during his time, who were winners already. Inter did well to win Serie A, but they were the best of a bad bunch. Juventus were crap. The Premier League has grown a lot since Conte with tougher opposition and managers, so although it will be interesting and he'll improve them I'm sure, I don't see him taking Spurs to a title. I'm willing to admit i'm dead wrong if he does anything of the sort though.

If Conte joins Spurs he'll be the third former Chelsea manager to have jojned them in the past decade.

Levy basically wanting to emulate his more successful neighbours.

Pound shop Stamford Bridge.

I guess it's better he goes to Spurs than Man Utd where he is a lot more likely to be successful but can't help feel this is treachery. Another mercenary manager of modern football. I hope he fails miserably if he goes there.

Interesting. They’ll keep Kane. They’ll buy him a couple of cheap-ish squad players. What can he make from them eggs?

He won’t win them the league (lol) but he’ll make them better. The league will be tougher.

Conte isnt a long term manager, he will come in and ruffle some feathers, won't be given the funds to win anything and will leave in a cloud of smoke after he's fallen out with everyone at the club.

Spurs squad is mince

Don't see them keeping him. They don't have CL football and they will need to spend about 100 million plus to win anything of note.

The ideal team for him is PSG that can spend money but he never did well in Europe and PSG is aiming to win the CL so I don't see him doing well there.

I find it odd that first Inter told him that they will sell so many players but now it looks like they don't want to sell anyone anymore...

He'll never join Spurs if Kane is leaving and I don't see Kane staying, the one option would be to buy Lukaku from Inter after Kane leaves but it all just sounds so complicated.

Really hope he doesn’t go there but there’s strong rumours it’s close. Strange thing is that Levy wrote a couple of weeks ago that he was looking for an attacking manager. Doesn’t seem right.

I really hope he doesn’t go there. He is a fantastic manager, one of the best around and he’ll turn Tottenham into a top team again. There’s no doubt about it. He won’t last long at all, probably 1 season but Conte is the very best they could get if they want trophies.

Conte, wtf are you doing.

It's hard to understand Conte. All of that bitching and whining about transfers when he was with us, Juve and Inter and now he's going to a club with an owner that never backs the manager....

They must have agreed to give him a budget, he is very ambitious so must have got some assurances, IMO.

I can really see the Spurs job appealing to the egomaniac side of Conte.

He will dedicate anything they win to himself, and he will love the challenge of being the first manager to get them to win anything noteworthy for donkey's years, and especially as Mourinho didn't win anything there. Good chance for Antonio to get another dick swinging point against Jose LOL

They will also probably pay him an obscene amount of money 🙂

Simone Inzaghi has been named new Inter Milan manager.

It's funny how it worked out, he got into CL last season but failed to repeat it this season with Lazio and now he's going to a bigger club anyway but it looks like Conte didn't even consider Lazio or any other Serie A team, he gets tired of his country pretty fast...

First they told Conte that they will sell Lukaku and others and now it looks like they won't sell the most important players part from Hakimi, maybe Conte wanted to spend more money and the owners told him that there are more chances to sell players than further spend and he got mad. Hard to be a manager when at your core you don't really have any reasonable amount of patience while working with people :laugh2:

It is interesting how he jumps country rather than moving to a bigger club in one league.

Suggests two things, either a mega personality that is too overbearing or he does not want grief from fans as he switches allegiances.

Here's footy 365's take, they think it will end in tears though see it a s a sign of desperation as they could not get Pochettino.

Agree he should improve them.

I don't think Spurs will find a better manager than Conte if they wanted a quick fix, of course we know how it will end after 2 years. I assume he will sign a long expensive deal just to be covered. Jose saved Levy plenty by finding another job, so that money will be send to Conte. Hate to say it, but I think Spurs will be a much better team with him in charge, especially if they spend another 100M.
