On the one hand it was a plucky performance considering the gulf in quality - particularly the second half of the first half. On the other hand, in the context of the season as a whole (and maybe even last 14 months) it's shocking to see how far we've fallen in quality and spirit.

Maybe now isn't the right time to think about it, but I just can't see us coming back from this malaise any time soon. Maybe our last Champions League game for a few seasons, especially as England is heading towards only three places. It'll cost an FFP busting fortune to get us back to the top in a season or two.

No complain about the result, we just aren't a good team. We couldn't even get over 40% of the possession at home, unable to control the midfield, sloppy in defence, the list goes on.. The usual suspect s didn't show up for the occasion again. Let's hope we beat Everton this weekend, otherwise it will be a disastrous week.

When Costa was subbed he was having a big effect of the game and we were still in it, when Hazard came off we were already finished

The season review DVD better be free, with only the wins included, mind you it'll be fairly short. One competition left to play for, hope the players decide to turn up, also hope someone tells Hazard it isn't a training session. Just about survived a mental breakdown, must be getting too used too losing and drawing.

There was a good two-thirds of the game there where the players did us proud - consistently hassling the PSG players and fighting for every ball; I would go as far as to say we were the better team up until the 67th minute.

 

But as soon as PSG's second went in... nothing. [Almost] the entire side just gave up instantly. Who cares if it's a lost cause? You fight until the very last - greater obstacles have been overcome. Fabregas in particular seemed incapable of completing a pass after the Ibrahimovic goal, utterly baffling considering how mercurial he was prior to that - it's like his inner Arsenal came out as soon as the going got tough.

 

That said, I will admit that as soon as Costa did the substitution hand motion... I feared the worst.

 

Oh well, 18 months isn't that long all things considered. Ultimately we were beaten by a better side. I hope this car crash of a season ends as soon as humanly possible, and if we're lucky, we can come away with it clutching the FA Cup trophy.

Don't need "world class players", we need good players who work together as a good team. Look at Leicester and Spurs this season, how many "world class" players do they have? You need a certain level of quality obviously, but you also need spirit, work ethic and an understanding betwene one another

Conte has a huge job for next season. Without Champions League football, it'll be even harder to attract big players. However, Man United have done it before and signed Di Maria without CL football. We have to offer huge money and make the most of our financial power to sign some players. I'm convinced Hazard is leaving, with him I'd like Oscar to piss off too-can't stand his inconsistency. We need to sign a couple of solid centre backs, a central midfielder, a good winger and a striker who can give Costa some serious competition. 

 

I'd like us to potentially sign Reus or Mahrez to replace Hazard, and f**king anyone for Oscar. Pogba was/is/always will be a dream. I don't fancy us to be title contenders with this squad. Really worried about the coming season

If there is anything this season that makes me yell at the tv, it's our sloppiness on the ball. Why IS that? It strikes me as lazy, disinterested, lack of focus. Bleh.
