Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

Jose did lose the dressing room and whatever club he has been at there is normally some form of controversy. There I've said it. I tried to support him right up to his demise but it was very difficult and in the end it was difficult to argue against the decision to get rid. You can't argue that he isn't a short term fix. Two or three seasons at best at any club. He just doesn't handle long term pressure very well. He puts himself and I imagine his players under extreme pressure to reach the highest standards but his methods don't work long term. Hindsight is great thing but it is a fact that gradually the controversies mount and players start to lose their ability to trust their instincts. This has happened twice at Chelsea now. I know he shouldn't be losing the dressing room but he did and we need to move on from the Jose era.

As for Jose I'm not convinced he'll go to MUFC but if he does I think he'll be given squillions and rebuild. Probably win the Prem and same old same old after two or three seasons. A real test of Jose's character would be If MUFC, or Arsenal, don't want him and he definitely wants to stay in the Premier League. Where would he go then? A smaller club perhaps. Maybe he'll have to consider that whatever country he goes to. Could he reinvent himself and learn how to deal with pressure on a long term basis at a smaller club?

What a complete and utter load of bollocks, so Jose's trophy wins are all because of luck and timing? By all means question him for this season but coming out with sh*t like that just makes you look a disingenuous f**kwit.

Blimey you are quite the keyboard warrior aren't you hahaha.

Dunno where you got luck from either, all I said was timing. Same with Pep. Both are great managers but they are great at timing their moves to other clubs .

The best managers get the big jobs, pretty simple really.

I agree. Mourinho made many f**k up's this season, but so did many others. People will say we have improved since Mourinho was sacked, but it's not that much of an improvement. We are a mid table side, we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives and now we are out of the Champions League. The only thing Hiddink has that Mourinho didn't have was Fabregas and Costa playing better, everything else is the same.

Things need to change at this club, we keep landing ourselves in a mess and i'm tired of it. All of the success we have had in the last decade has masked the fact that we are terribly run club, it's finally caught up with us this season though.

The "only" thing Guus did better was Fabregas and Costa? Whats with bringing in Mikel so Fabregas got more protection? Whats with Baba and Traore partly Kenedy and RLC getting a chance? Whats with actual changing players if they don't perform? But nah, not much improved since he left.

Don't get me wrong i would loved to have him here but this season he and also the players just failed.

Baba and Kenedy have only really played due to injuries. Like the only time Guus makes a sub.

I think Romans biggest failure, has been his lack of backing for title winning managers, the only time we have retained the title was when the managers requests for players have been adequately signed.

Mourinho 04/05 wanted gerrard in the summer, we got Essien. Retained title.

Mourinho 05/06 wanted cole, got cole, but sacrificed gallas, which left us short on on a centre back going into the season. Just missed out on the title maybe Essien and paolo at centre back was the difference.

Follwing summer, Mourinho was still crying out for another top centre back and another striker as Sheva was past it. We got ben haim. Mourinho and chelsea part company 2 months later, only for the board to bring in ivanovic and anelka a couple of months later!

Ancelotti 09/10 wins the title with probably the most eye catching football of Romans era to date. Club sells/releases carvalho, Ballack, deco, j.cole, and Essien is at deaths doors.

Carlo wants all of them replaced, plus competition for an aging drogba. Club misses out on david Luiz, neymar, and torres. Only ramires comes in, and carlo told to use youth team.

By the time the club rectifies this in january to some extent, the league is gone, assistant manager has been sacked, and carlo is already a dead man walking.

Mourinho 14/15 wins the title fairly comfortably, but the squad has shown signs of requiring some attention in the second half of the season. Asks for benteke, pogba, stones. Gets falcao, djilibodji, and pedro.

Worse start by champions ever, Mourinho sacked with club in 16th.

There is a clear pattern, and although I don't think Mourinho's sacking was that outrageous given the league position and controversy, it is clear that when roman gets a winner, he needs to start backing him fully.

In all likelihood, this summer we will buy the the sort of targets we should have been buying for mourinho last summer.

If we don't get a primary target, we should get someone as close to that as possible, ie Essien instead of gerrard.

I'm gutted jose has gone, it could so easily have been very different. Hopefully the club learn their lesson, now it has cost us champions league football for the first time in the abrahmovic era.

I'd agree with that Roman failed to back title winning managers. I would also RDM in that list as well. First sign of trouble and he was gone.

I'm sorry to be the one to bring this up again, but how is Emenalo in such a senior position? I don't mean it in 'screw him he's sh*t', but how did he catch Roman's attention? Is he a skilled businessman outside sports? etc. Answers would be appreciated from someone who remembers him coming in.

He came through Avram Grant I believe.

For as much as we know about him, I actually think he has done a good job. Sure there's some signings that didn't work but he has signed some good players.

An excellent example of the Peter principle?

He started in a lower position, and impressed enough people to get promoted.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed in an interview with BT Sport that he will start a new job in July. The 53-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked by Chelsea in December and has been linked with Manchester United. (Manchester Evening News)

Think it's pretty clear where he's going. I know we sacked him but I am getting tired of our legends joining other English teams.

We can't complain that he wants to restart his career elsewhere especially since we sacked him against his will.

Him moving elsewhere won't detract my view of him! He's a club legend for eternity in my mind!

He was a player under Grant. Now that raises the question of how Avram Grant got a position at this club and it's because of his personal relationship with Roman.

Two months after he arrived, he was our coach despite lacking the appropriate (and required) coaching badges. By most accounts he was an outdated presence on the training field and a lot of the real duties were performed by others.

Breifly, Emenalo moved to America, was a coach/director at the Tuscon Soccer academy (where Messi and Ronaldo began their careers just kidding no-one of note has been there before or since), came to Chelsea under Grant as a scout, got promoted to assistant coach under Ancelotti when we sacked Wilkins, and then became Technical Director because....reasons.

Now people like to say we scapegoat him, others say we blame him fairly. What I've never seen anyone say is that he was appointed on the strength of his track record.

Oh and he tried to resign when Jose was hired apparently, but was rebuffed by the owner because....reasons.

HIs rise has been somewhat meteoric though, to the point that you'd have thought he'd be more widely celebrated throughout the football community because to be promoted so quickly must be a sign of his footballing knowledge.....but he isn't. That's strange isn't it?

If you want the honest view of him, wait a few years for some autobiographies to come out.

We sacked him against his will LOL!

Some fans kiss his behind so much they might aswell support United when he goes there.

Jose can say his sh!t is really roast chicken and have a bunch of hardcore fans eat it all up.

The guy was not happy at Chelsea, and it didn't take much for him to pull a strop and take it out on everyone else. He gets the job he finally wants. Lets see how long he lasts.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Woodward mess up in the market forcing Jose to go into meltdown and have Utd relegated next season.

So we should believe your astute judgement on why he wasn't happy because you have bugs planted all over his house.

I say he wasn't happy because the board didn't back him and players weren't pulling all that extra weight.

Do you have bugs in the boardroom to know they didn't back him?

I saw the board lodge a 50m bid for stones so how is that exactly not backing him.

Isit because we didn't sign Pogba and Griezmann that he decided to pull a strop.

Unless you know to what extent the board didn't back him and with clear examples of those players with further evidence of how far or not we tried to sign them, then simply saying the board didn't back Jose is a weak excuse.

You don't know who the board enquire for and the discussion involved. This is not football manager.

I don't have any bugs and that is why I don't make outlandish claims like you.The board never lodged a 50m bid. Sure we were after him but the plan B was papy? Seriously? I can't blame him for being pissed about it. I can take a pretty educated guess on the level of backing when he requested for Pogba and Stones and got Papy and Hector.

I think Plan B was Marquinhos. Hector would have been bought regardless as youth to loan out and cash on.

Remember José wanted to build the team around Oscar? Got rid of mata for oscar...HA! For the special manager he was supposed to be,, he left his 2nd stint here by letting go of lukaku, de bruyne, mata, and ruining our medical team. We did win the league, but i would have forgone that league win if it meant competing for top four this season. He royally f**ked us and now everyone else has to pick up the pieces.
