Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

I'm never gonna hate him, as a person though in his second stint here I didn't like him very much. Will always appreciate what he achieved here but he's the past now.

Can't help but kind of like he'll be around when Pep is though, Pep couldn't take the pressure last time when Mourinho gave him sh*t.

Love the guy but wouldn't sign him now, looks a shadow of his former self

We'd get him for cut price. I think he just needs the right conditions, I've not seen him played in a position where he can dictate like he did when he was here. Would love him back but it's dependent on Conte's plans and I'm not sure he'll fit. Would love it though as I feel he'll be happy to come despite no CL.

Now Mourinho is all but confirmed at Manure, how many here still think he "loves Chelsea" or that he "didn't want the Utd job" or any of the other stuff? imo everything he says is self serving sh*t.

He's going to win some silverware in the first few years, but he's not going to last more than 3 years.

Wait, are you suggesting that Mourinho stole the "idea" to take over at Man Utd from your post last year?

I bet that's exactly what he did!  I bet he reads the Shed End assiduously and steals all our ideas.  I wonder what his username is?  Blueblur? Blue Exile? Bluedave?

His first action at Man U should be to put Juan Mata on the transfer list so that we can buy him back!

You know I might... I mean Jose might just do that. I bet he's wondering what Mr Fish has to say on the subject though.

If the BBC report is true......

Which I suspect it is......

Then I think that Man U are trolling Citeh........

Ron and Russ have  the whole situation nailed......

Fireworks........

He's the enemy now, love the man he was, hate what he's become and hope he fails miserably. Not looking forward to the outrage online if he beats us.

Absolutely spot on.

Hope he fails miserably there. Remember though, they don't sack managers, they do it the "United Way".

Best manager in the world from 04-11 but Madrid showed he wasn't invincible and the player fall outs damaged his confidence, won't be the same again imo.

Mourinho is no Ferguson, he may win a couple of things there, but i don't think he will make a dynasty like SAF did (fingers crossed)
regarding Mata, though i love him, he's better off to be honest, can't see him fit anywhere except as the CAM if we stick to 4231 (which i hope not), as for wingers we already have too much players playing on that position

United didn't hang around announcing it. Right after the FA cup. Classy.

Gutted. However it's the job he's always wanted. Is he still one of us?

Maybe I'm just a sentimental fool, but in my opinion, yes... He always will be to me, whatever the future holds.

I hope he puts Juan Mata up for sale, and we buy him!

Loved Mata when he was with us but we really cannot build a side around him. He is just a luxury player. Better he goes to Spain or PSG.

Regarding Jose, really torn. Hate United with a passion and was loving the past few Moyes and LVG days where they were a joke. Now they will be up there fighting for the title while we sit around trying to win the Arsenal cup. The players let him down which made him mental. He will get better backing at United, more transfer money and also better refereeing decisions.

That said, as much as I love the guy, hope he fails miserably. Just a pipe dream anyways.

In the odd position of loving Jose but really hoping he fails. But not going to have a go at him for it, he didn't quit he was sacked. His profession is football management, he doesn't really have that many options, I couldn't see him in France of Germany because those arnt even real competition and any way Carlo took the Bayern job so Germany was out but psg at this point only realistically compete for the CL year in year out. The prem is one of the best leagues in the world and United are a sleeping giant now.

Let's hope Conte is all that a bit more and that he actually gets the players he needs and wants

I still miss him even months after his sacking. Jose and Chelsea were a match made in heaven so it's gut-wrenching to see everything fall apart for him in the end.

I partially understand why the club sacked him as I think Roman and the board genuinely feared the prospect of relegation, but I think even after everything Jose had done for the club, it was worth seeing whether he could turn it around with a transfer window and patience. I think he was afforded the chance to do so considering his winning past.

I'm happy to back in our new manager and I want to see Jose fail at Man Utd but the moment it's all official, I think I'm going to literally burst in tears. I've psyched myself up for the prospect that he will be coaching Manchester United next season for a few months now but it's still going to be very difficult to comprehend and get my head around.

I hope he fails because ultimately no one is bigger than the club and I just want to see Chelsea become the best in England again! I still love Jose but as a rival now I hope he fails and Conte brings back glory for us.

Maybe he was abducted by aliens.

No, I know what you mean. I think he peaked at around 2010.

For the best part of 15 years he has built unnecessary pressure on himself and I think this has taken its toll on him.

He will always be a good manager but the real special one was between 04-10.

I think there's a level of truth to this post.

I'm still shaking my head nearly nine years later as to why Jose was flicked in September 2007. Ideally, I think he would have been a great manager for us up until 2010/2011 with the spine of the squad peaking in those years.

After that, I would have understood him moving on to other clubs and us starting a rebuild but of course it didn't eventuate that way.

I think the fact that we mucked around constantly changing manages between 2008-2010 really cost us a chance to win another title or two, instead we saw Manchester United win three titles in a row between 2007-2009 and take advantage of the instability we were experiencing then.

I do agree though that Jose was different person this time around rather than his first stint. I suspect his father's illness and a combination of bitterness from his time at Real Madrid and the fact he was getting a little older in age caused his grumpy and confrontational mood to become more evident in his second stint.

It was sad watching him become helpless of our deterioration in the end. I still wanted him to stay but he didn't look well at all towards the end. He just looked tired and some have gone as far as saying he was having a mental breakdown.

It will be interesting to see how this season will be looked back upon by the key individuals involved in years to come, because it's hard to comprehend how we deteriorated as quickly as we did considering we came off a season of winning the title and the League Cup.

I bet that's exactly what he did!  I bet he reads the Shed End assiduously and steals all our ideas.  I wonder what his username is?  Blueblur? Blue Exile? Bluedave?

Damn rumbled by moi! ;-)
