Chelsea Vs West Ham (PL) Mon 15/08/ 2016 KO 20:00 GMT

Pros- This is the best I've seen in attack since.... last year...

Cons- We still look dodgy in defence.

Still, pretty impressive though. I loved Conte's dialogue with the players after the final whistle.

For what it's worth, I'm naturally a quiet and insular person. Costa's goal made me jump out of my seat shouting. Not bad!

two points:

1. though the defence is pretty solid apart from the conceded goal, i still think it's down to West Ham sitting deep. against a better attack we would've struggled. need to do better

2. apart from the goal, Costa had a below average game. should not start the next game

I'm searching high and low for any sort of highlights programme on the BBC for our game tonight but apparently nothing ? I pay my license fee, not happy.

On a positive note well pleased with the result.

I was expecting a performance as good as that for our first game.

Lots of positives for me.

Lucky goal from West Ham, I thought the defence played very well tonight.

Lots to feel positive about.

Glad to have my Chelsea back.

Let's be real here...we played well in patches but ultimately we lacked creativity from the midfield and Conte got lucky...you can do as many Mr Grimsdale impersonations as you like Conte but I haven't seen anything yet to that says we'll compete against wither of the Manchester teams

Bore off mate

Kante was my MOTM. What a bloody player

Him or Hazard for me, they were our key players today. Seeing Kante play for us was the thing i wanted most after seeing how well he played for Leicester last season, i can't believe we pulled that one off. It was great to see Matic get a good game too, he needed that more than anyone. Him and Kante could work and Oscar and Fabregas may have to share the attacking midfield position. It was so good not seeing a team blitz through our midfield for once, that was happening in every game last season.

I am going w/ Dave - dude was solid in the back & going forward was a threat - remember he won the PK - cause of his runs forward, that neutralized Ayew & eventually Ayew blew a tire & got subbed out - Onwards & upwards!!!

Best performance i've seen from Hazard, Oscar, Matic and Costa in a long time.

Can't believe the ref got fooled by that sh*te dive from Carroll, abysmal.

Massive relief to see that well deserved winner go in, brilliant strike.

matic played well, kante and hazard are brilliant.. costa, apart from the goal, he had a very average performance.. decent game from ivanovic.. oscar was poor overall and should have been substitued a lot sooner..

I feel a lil bit disappointed with conte, we didn't create any clear cut chance all game.. it seems like he relies on individual brilliance to get us the goal instead of creating a system that would let our attacking players having more influence..

The positive thing is we look solid but the negative thing is we're struggling for meaningful attacking display and with that, it could have been easily just a draw for this kind of game..

I would say we were more dominant than any side but United in the first game of the season. City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, they all looked very vulnerable.
