Another away game, another 3 points. 

Doing our 'title credentials' no harm. 

If City and Spurs pick up any less than 6 points in the next two games and we beat Palace we will only need a draw vs City for it to be sealed in everything but mathematics. In many ways City at home is shaping up similar to Arsenal at home in 2005.

Games like that today are the ones that make you think 'You know what, I reckon we're going to get this done'

But, the glass is never half full. 

Only Spurs left in the title race, I don't think City could catch us if they beat us. The home form we are in, at least we will draw against them.

I don't like to count points, but given we have some very winnable home games against Palace, Watford, Sunderland, Boro, there are plenty of points and reasons to be confident about our chances.

Here in the States we count points to end out the regular season to determine Champions. We call this this The Magic Number - many people used this as a gauge & mark it off the calendar - so it's ok bro - basically Don Antonio has already stated that getting to 95 points is the goal, because that is what spuds can achieve this season currently & we are 21 points away from that mark - keep the faith & try to enjoy the ride

Actually it is 90 points. Tottenham can only get to 89 now. But yes 21 points away from that. 7 wins. (Or 6 wins and 3 draws). 

Does anyone else think that we might be able to break the 95 point record which we set back in the 2004/05 season? I know we haven't secured the Title yet nor should we get ahead of ourselves but I think the prospect is worth discussing anyway.

The maximum points total that we could finish on is 99. Looking at our fixtures, there are 3 particularly tough games - City at home, United away, Everton away - but the rest are very winnable in my opinion, especially the home games. We would need 27 points to get to 96, a very tough ask as it would only allow for 1 slip up but it's certainly possible.

Can't see it now, its a shame but September has screwed us in regard's to that. I think we can get to 90 atleast tho which will be superb.

You will probably be proved right, it's a really tough ask. 90 would still be fantastic.

What's going on here? Who's 10 points up in 1st and who's 6th?

Are you under the impression Jose wrote the article ?

Any mathematicians out there? Managed to get tickets for the home game against saints in 25th April. Possible to wrap up the title that day with win?

Pretty much impossible. We'd need to be 13 or 16 points clear after the game (and probably 16 as Watford still to play)

So remaining fixtures in the Premier League:

City (H)

Bournemouth (A)

Man U (A)

Southampton (H)

Everton (A)

Middlesbrough (H)

West Brom (A)

Sunderland (H)

We also have a game in hand to fit in somewhere which is Watford at home.

We have a really tough run in while Spuds have a cake walk

We really need to beat City at home to feel confident of winning the title, I don't see us being able to though. We just seem to be struggling to put the ball in the net

Spurs have an easier run in. However, some tricky games in their last five including three London derbies, United and relegation battlers Hull.

If we get through the next 3 games and we're still 7 clear then I will shocked if we bottle it.

Was very, very optimistic before todays game. Now we have given Tottenham one hell of a chance to catch us...

Crystal Palace killed us last time we were chasing the title down the last stretch(13/14), if we lose it this year they did it again.

7 guarantees it. But if Tottenham drop points then it could be less.

We could do with the Gunners taking the sting out of City tomorrow and launching their end of season charge for top 4 with them having Spuds to play too. Seven wins needed but 87pts will prob win the title, if we're good enough we'll do it. 

One thing that a tighter race will do, is remind our board that their is serious work to be done in the window this year if we are to stay competitive next season. No complacency.

Despite the defeat today.

I reckon we will win the title.

 

you can't guarantee 3 points from any game here on out. today should have, in theory, been a win. it is the same for any team in top four though. spurs look like continually going on a run, but you just never know where you'll drop points. man utd dropped 2 points at home today against west brom, but then turn up at our place. no telling what will happen, just hope we win the league. i feel a lot better being in our position though. 

I still feel optimistic enough, end of the day everyone wants to be in our position. We need to win Weds I feel though, simply for the confidence factor.
