Ohh no I agree with you. It's the whole we have a £200m spare to spend narrative I was dispelling.

If we decide we need too we could easily sign a O Dembele if we are willing. We can easily account for that spend but we would probably need to sell Pedro in a year for £15m as this will cover the majority of the Dembele transfer in terms of FFP.

But we do have a huge wage expenditure, which is apparently second in the league, despite the manc clubs transfer spending and we do need to consider this before claiming the board should just keep spending as we can.

I think it's because of how keen the press are to push war chests and splurged, but in reality it is alot more complicated than just the fee alone.

It is all a bit of a juggling act, you would hope that the wage budget has lowered significantly since 15/16, Terry, ivanovic, Mikel, Costa, matic, Oscar, all off the books. I think city were pretty clever as they have managed to lower the wages for some of their big hitters, by giving them lower wages but much bigger bonuses which don't effect ffp balance sheets.

It will be interesting to see what happens with psg, if they can avoid sanctions after committing £90m a year for neymar, then ffp is dead imo.

Rumours floating around that PSG is bidding 200m for Mbappe. If that goes through, ffp is officially dead.

"Arsene Wenger says he believes Alexis Sanchez will give his best for Arsenal until the final day of his contract, but also that the board have the final say over his potential departure.
The manager has been strident all summer about his desire to keep the Chilean forward, but admits he could be overruled by majority shareholder Stan Kroenke if it came to the crunch."

The guy looks dejected almost every time they lose lmao. Like his soul was sucked out of him.

Thank god Liverpool didn't get him a while back.

Let Citeh have him, and we'll nab Aguero, can't play all his attackers and also keep them happy..

Would way prefer Sanchez, better player and a much better attitude.

Whats the point of that? Aguero is steady declining, Gabriel Jesus has pretty much taken his spot and don't be surprised if City sign another forward this January.

Wing back, midfielder and Sanchez would be perfect end for this transfer window. Sanchez is done with Arsenal and he said he would prefer to stay at London, I don't know what is our board waiting, 100-110m would be enough in my opinion to get Sanchez and Oxlade here. This is the perfect timing to get us another world class player and we all know that players from Arsenal have fetish to sign for rivals lol, also this deal could help us to keep Hazard here for a long time. Try everything to sign him, please!

The rumour mill has been pretty silent about him coming here, slim chance of him coming here. I'm sure Arsenal would rather sell to a club in Manchester rather than London.

In reality we have had no serious links with big money signings recently. For me Oxlade Chamberlain, Drinkwater and Barkley are average players for what has become average fees. My heart wants us to wade in with three or four massive signings to signal out intent and that we remain competitive, but i just don't see it. Sanchez could be good, although his constant sulking would pi$$ me off i think. Regardless I just cannot see us even bidding for players like this now. Conte has got his marque player in Morata and i think he will have to balance the books from now on.

I reallllly doubt we've ever been seriously interested in him, we've been used, as standard, to drive up the price. He'll be at Man City if he wants to stay in England or PSG as clearly they don't give a crap about FFP.

Hope he stays at arsenal, plays out his contract and then comes to us. Would be the best thing.

i wish he stay at arsenal rather than him going to another epl club if that club isnt us..i am pretty sure arsenal wont challenge for epl even with him if they are managed by wenger...
