August 29, 20178 yr The Sterling/ Sanchez deal would not surprise me if it went through as Sterling is probably the last thing Arsenal need at the moment. Definitely a Wenger type player, skillful but lightweight who makes poor decisions and disappears in many matches.

If he really is surplus at City I think there's a lot worse out there. 1 minute ago, PedroMendez said: Would prefer Sane But there's no way he's leaving, seems a favourite of Pep's, Sterling on the other hand... Just now, doctorblue said: I'd prefer Mahrez if Sanchez ain't available... I'm undecided on Mahrez, not sure he's better then what we've got. Sterling would maybe offer something different to our current attackers. All that said, I wouldn't expect City to sell to us.
August 29, 20178 yr Sterling still strikes me as a frustrating player with little end product. 2 goals doesn't change that for me. If we were in a situation where we only had 1 or 2 decent attackers then it might be different, but we have Hazard, Willian and Pedro, with Musonda waiting in the wings.

August 29, 20178 yr Id take Sterling. Hed be a useful option on the flanks, he's no world beater but neither was Moses and Conte raised his game tenfold. Who's to say he couldn't do the same with Sterling? The price would be an issue though, they would want to recoup the 50 million they spent. That's too much. In any case I think if Arsenal sell Sanchez to them they will be signing either him or Augero so City might not want to sell if it's Sergio that goes.
August 29, 20178 yr I don't see arsenal selling with so little of the transfer window left. Who would want to go to arsenal in exchange anyway lol

August 29, 20178 yr And we're just sat here doing nothing about it, even though he said he would prefer to stay in London. FFS.

August 30, 20178 yr To join City 8/15 To stay at Arsenal 6/4 To join us 25/1 Do not get your hopes up lol
August 30, 20178 yr I cannot for the life of me understand why Chelsea are sitting back and not even attempting to sign him up. Just imaging Sanchez & Hazard playing together..that's a dream.

August 30, 20178 yr Buy him and win titles just so that we can show Ox what he missed by choosing Liverpool over us
August 30, 20178 yr Willian will happily play more WB to accomodate Sanchez and winning more. Hazard, Morata, Sanchez instantly becomes the best front 3 in the league. I'm not sure anyone could keep a clean sheet against those 3. Maybe Jose's beloved 6 man defense could, maybe.
August 30, 20178 yr Alexis ongoing lack of performance is definitely a warning signal. Is he gonna sulk with us if he is not the number 1 striker all the time? Not sure he was the right mindset to be a Blue. Team first, player second! Edited August 30, 20178 yr by CFC_Mick
August 30, 20178 yr Seriously, why aren't we doing everything in our power to sign Sanchez. He wants to leave Arsenal and he wants to stay in London. Seems like a complete no-brainer. Give them the money they ask for, I don't care if it's 90M Give them the f**king money and sign him. The OX deal is dead, which I'm still a bit pissed at. This transfer window has been a disaster for us. Our rivals have all strengthened. If Sanchez goes to City and not us and we don't strengthen our squad then we're not winning the league, simple as that really.
August 30, 20178 yr Christ people. Arsenal won't ever sell us a top player again after the Ashley Cole episode. We could offer the Gooners Romans cash card and his PIN....and they'd still sell elsewhere

His pace, tenacity and directness is perfect for City which allows Pep to be flexible even if he wants to play his usual tippy tappy stuff. Sterling saved City multiple times last season. He's a very good player, and still young-- I doubt City would give him up in a swap deal
