True, but our evaluations have somewhat turned out to be true.  At least the two that I ca nthink of.  We weren't willing to pay huge sum for Stones, and guess what he isn't worth what city paid for him.  Same with Koulibaly.  We will see how Lukaku fairs and compare him to Morata this season...

I do get it though, Sandro is pretty much a can't miss player. I would love to have him and if I had the funds, I'd pay it.  But I certainly do not and understand why the club are conducting business the way they are.  Marcos was signed for what, 25m?  Is Sandro 35m better than Alonso?  That would be like saying for every league game, Sandro is 1m better than Alonso...

Agree, Sandro is a can't miss player, and if we want to start challenging in the CL, Sandro is the level of player we require. Remains to be seen if the board still have the same ambition or vision as they did in 2004.

Yes Marcos Alonso was around £25 million last year (possibly would be £40 million this year), but imo Sandro is worth the £60 million in today's market. I think Alonso will get found out against the better CL teams, whereas Sandro is already proven in CL

This is the same sh** that happen last summer with Kolibaly. No way Juventus let us get him now, when we sold Matic and it`s so late and also they sold Bonucci and Alves. No way they sell him to us.

Why we keep bothering ? This board amaze me every single day ....

Signing this guy goes a long way in keeping Antonio happy. Hopefully we pull the trigger and meet their valuation before too long and they don't have time to find a player to replace him with

Would make his life less difficult. He is heading towards the most difficult season of his life.

Can we just f**king cough up the readies for this man already, if we wait too long they wont be able to bring in any replacements, wait till deadline day and offer a million short, ffs.

This.
I think we all need to consider the club and their ability to get a replacement.
Similar to how Dortmund gave PEA that ultimatum, "If you want to leave, go before this date so we have time to get a replacement"

Dortmund were employing a different strategy based on the fact that they accepted PEA wanted to leave and had set their price. Juve are in a different place. As far as we know they have not accepted that Sandro will leave so they are, or have been, playing things differently.

If Juve genuinely do not wish to sell, or are pretending that they don't for negotiating reasons, a deadline makes no sense so they will not set one. If we try to set it, they will simply laugh.

If Juve genuinely do not wish to sell, or are pretending that they don't for negotiating reasons, setting a price makes no sense so they won't do it. Any figure we offer will be routinely rejected. This just pay the price idea presupposes that there is a price which Juve have set. In the context described this idea is ridiculous, bordering on childish.

But reports of Juve handing him a contract renewal haven't surfaced at all. There's more to this story yet.

Still Don't Know Why We Didn't Offer Matic Plus Cash For Sandro When Juve Was Still Interested In Him

Because players control their destination.

Maybe we did. Who knows what goes on.

To a degree, but it's a mixture of the club and player also the agent if it was that simple Costa would have been back at athletico last year and again this year.

Even if a player prefers a certain club over another the club can make transfer to one club he prefers hard and the other that the club prefer easy.

The club has more control in the negotiation, if they felt like being vindictive a club could refuse to sell a player and let him train on his own for 2 seasons and never play, under his contract he would have to accept, or they would fine him wages every week, the clubs don't do this for many reasons and try and be amicable.

However ultimately the club decides who they sell their asset to and it's very rare a player will say I'm not going there, but of course he has to sign before the deal is concluded.

There is power from both sides and the player is always part of the discussion, as in, he is asked if he is intrested in signing for an intrested club, but the player certainly can't pick a place the club doesn't want to sell to and they can normally influence the player to go where they want him to go.

Its in everyone's interests to pick a place that suits both parties no club wants to keep an unhappy player and no player wants to be at a club or with a manager who he has upset enough not to play him, if Chelsea wanted him to go to juve they could have more than likely directed him towards that.
