April 11, 20188 yr What a shame at that ending, I would have loved for it to go to extra time. Buffon lost his cool, but surely berating the ref is a yellow and not a straight red card?

April 11, 20188 yr Buffon probably said something wrong, his aggression led to the red card. Not sure it was a penalty, but Ronaldo still has his class.

April 11, 20188 yr Of course he lost his cool and so would any of with any dignity and pride......we as Chels supporters should know all about it. That was not a pen....no way it was, but as always another eng ref showing his worth.....and of course yet another life-line for rm by the refs.

April 11, 20188 yr Another thing Michael Oliver probably got wrong is that if he judged the defender to have denied a goalscoring opportunity he should get a yellow right? He really is a poor quality ref who takes himself too seriously, all you have to do is insult him and he loses all perspective on whatever just happened.
April 11, 20188 yr If that was us, I would've wanted a pen tbh. I thought he got it right. Certainly not stone wall, but real constantly get the big decisions in the champions league.

I thought it was a pen too but only saw the replay once, the defender wrapped his leg around Vasquez and hit him in the midrift, the crucial point though is I'm not sure if he touched the ball first.

Not a pen for me.....you have the right to fight for the ball and he did.......but yeah rm like barca get the good stuff.....the sh*t stinks and has been so for a long time.
April 11, 20188 yr the semi-finals will be interesting - it's big boys stuff now and you'd expect Real and Bayern to lift their game significantly. Roma and Liverpool? They're probably a little surprised to be there - whether they can repeat their best of the Q-finals is hard to predict. You have to suspect UEFA would like a Madrid-Bayern final. I wonder if they'll be kept apart in the draw.
April 11, 20188 yr I think that was a penalty tbh, come straight in the back of him with unnecessary force denying a goal scoring opportunity.
April 11, 20188 yr Isn't it odd that the UEFA charges against Liverpool regarding the attack on the Man City bus won't be dealt with until after the final? - Seems a long time to leave it.

That's a piss take. They should be playing behind close doors in the next round. Only fair punishment imo.
April 11, 20188 yr Watched numerous replays and still don't see much contact for the pen...Vazquez looks to be falling very early...what a horrible way to lose regardless
April 11, 20188 yr First of all, it's a penalty. The guy's about to score a goal and the defender does what he has to do. Second of all, I think that decision might be the making of Michael Oliver. Too often refs are scared of making the big calls. That was a massive call and Michael Oliver made it, and then he sent off Buffon, which was also correct, but no easy task all the same. Third of all, I like Allegri. I don't like Conte much but I like Allegri.

After the highly successful introduction to rail seating at Celtic Park, as well as numerous Bundesliga clubs, many football fans feel that laws preventing standing areas should be relaxed.
