July 6, 20179 yr The Top 6 premier league clubs all want to sign the worlds best players "that are available".....at the right price.......except Manure and Citeh are prepared to pay 25% extra ....as they don't seem to mind wasting more money than Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spuds.............. Everton want to play Manure off against Chelsea .........and as I said...Manure have the upper hand because they don't mind wasting more ! .......the Chelsea board should not be dragged into a Dutch auction ......Lukaku is not worth more than about 40 mio however in today's crazy over inflated market....Who knows how much money he will go for?........Lukaku would prefer to join Chelsea........Everton are playing a good game by using Manure to push the price up and Manure are playing a game of bluff.......I think Chelsea should go no higher than 70 mio and be prepared to walk away and let Manure look highly embarrassed when they end up paying well over the top. it's all a game ! Last years summer transfer window was also very difficult.....but we ended up ok ....by winning the Premier league.....KTBFH
July 6, 20179 yr It's the same every year, mate (to the OP) THe papers love to make noise over everything. But if you step back and take an actual look the only team that have done anything are Arsenal who have added Lacazette as an upgrade on Giroud. The rest is all paper talk. At the end of last season all the noise was about how Roman was going to "open up the war chest." Now, 6 days in and seemingly Conte is feuding with the board, and is frustrated at our lack of ambition. I do hope we've learned our lesson from Jose's 1st year, second time around, and realize that to compete we must add players. I am saddened by the lack of faith in our youth, i really hoped we'd keep some of them on as squad players seeing as we'll need the numbers to compete on all fronts (and maintain the Homegrown coefficient) All in all, i think we don't want to jump at every chance out there, and i hope we have several targets identified. Nothing against big Rom, but Everton can bounce if they think he'd valued at 90 mill.

After that 13 game winning streak, we continued to dominate the league and reached an F.A cup final.

Costa after January was all over the place. The rest of the team were fine bar off days here and there. Can't win them all
July 7, 20179 yr You all only have yourselves to blame. I used to be a transfer muppet but have been in recovery for a few years now. 99% of the media know nothing 99% of the time. I haven't clicked open a transfer story on any website in years, I refuse to give them all they're interested in, clicks. Read the headlines and wait for confirmations on club websites. The rest is literally nonsense.
July 7, 20179 yr State of some of our fans, so entitled with zero patience. I have actually seen posts elsewhere blaming the board for having no ambition! No ambition?! Idiots. Nobody knows what's going on; that applies to the journalists too by the sound of things lol. Edited July 7, 20179 yr by enigma

July 7, 20179 yr What might help, is if their was more communication from Chelsea hierarchy, saying everything is fine, Conte should sign his contract, and our transfer targets are still being pursued as per the managers wishes, the red tops are loving it, Chelsea are managing to turn Glory, into a shambles....
July 7, 20179 yr Prices will only continue to rise with the influx of money into the game and so many rich owners nowadays. If you look at how quickly the prices jumped from about £40-50m all the way up to about £80m, we could be looking at 100m+ for decent players in a couple of years.

We are in that "ball park" of stratospheric Transfers and Salaries we can't begin to comprehend, unless you are of Romans wealth...
July 7, 20179 yr What were doing signing Alonso and bringing back Luiz?!? Oh wait this is *this* year's panic... [emoji57]
July 7, 20179 yr It's called silly season for a reason. I couldn't give a f**k about the transfer window really, I basically ignore it until the season begins. This is an awful time of year. For fans, for clubs, for journalists. Everyone!
July 7, 20179 yr I guess we just have to remind ourselves that the transfer window only has been open for a week now, and there's still another 7/8 weeks to go. Plenty of time to get business done, still too early to hit the panic button. I had expected announcements by now but now I've gone past the stage of eagerly waiting for an announcement and I'll just let the club worry about it.

But hardly anybody has announced anything concrete involving the big names, Le Arse are the only top team to secure a top name so far.

July 7, 20179 yr The only valid solution here is for one of us to get a job at Chelsea FC and then can tell us which of the twitter info is actually true or not.
July 7, 20179 yr Author To be honest, this whole transfer nonsense wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a story about Conte leaving every other day. I feel myself and the majority of fans will feel a lot better once he signs a new contract. Until then, this whole Bakayoko delay and Lukaku failure seems to only add fuel to the doubt that he's staying, whether it's actually affecting anything, only Conte knows.

At some point clubs will stop paying those higher prices. I take my hat off to Bayern as they are the only one of this big boys that hasn't been roped in to paying over the odds so far
July 8, 20179 yr Some facts: This squad won the PL. Even we won't have any new signings we have a squad that can fight for the PL tittle. On the other hand we will have CL matches on top of PL, some depth is definetily needed. Diego Costa is leaving; the need for a first class striker is obvious. We have been linked with a top class defender (Rudiger), a defensive middfielder (Bakayoko), LWB (Alex Sandro), a couple of strikers (Belotti, Morata) and even an attacking middfielder/attacker (James) just to mention a few. A striker is a must. If we can get two or three of the other above mentioned players (or players on the same level) on top of the striker I think we are well off for the coming Season. On the other hand we have failed to sign anyone so far. So what is my message? We still have plenty of time, we don't necessary need that much new signings. But as you all I really hope for big fishes to join the team.
