I know you are not comparing with Costa, but Costa was horrific with his feet but made up for it with just thunderous booming goals from his feet. Morata is a different style, but will be more than fine.
September 9, 20178 yr At this rate he just might get the golden boot, that would be nice and I bet Costa is cursing his own poor judgment.

I feel he is improving his hold up play / dribbling against PL competition and he is certainly fabulous on crosses into the six-yard box. He seems to prefer ones from the right wing (from Dave) as opposed to crosses from the other side. Or our crosses from the other side are just ass (from Rudiger and Alonso). If he does prefer crosses from the right, Zappacosta over Moses will double up ones from that side. I have been please, 3 goals and 2 assists through 4 games. 18+ PL goals would be a solid year and replaces Costa's production without the drama. Come on you Chelsea!! Tbh, he could have close to 6 goals (if not more) and 2 assists as his movements unlock defences. His final kick and decision-making to score needs improving BUT a goal/assist every 56 minutes so far is a good return 9 minutes ago, no_instance10 said: Anybody else feel Morata seems so poor with his feet? In La Liga and Serie A, defenders knew how to keep their shape and defend tactically first so he's always had time to pick a spot and shoot otoh, in the PL, defenders tackle, kick, shove and hoofs the ball first and keep their shape and defend tactically second Edited September 9, 20178 yr by Deino

I'm just happy we've quietly replaced Costa with a player just as good without the drama. Although I did quite enjoy seeing Costa rile up both opposition players and fans alike.
September 9, 20178 yr Overall we got the job done. I thought we were in control for the most part. Bakayoko seemed pretty good and him alongside Kante will be pretty sublime in the future. the only criticism is we seemed too causal which put some unnecessary pressure on us i.e the penalty and the first half messup from our corner which nearly turned into a Leicester goal. Oh and the ref made some dodgy decisions. A few fouls that didn't go for us and a few handball shouts in the penalty box.

September 9, 20178 yr Interesting match. So good to see Hazard back, he's such a genius. Rudiger and Bakayoko look excellent. Zappacosta seems to always be in the opposition box when we attack. Morata did what he does best. A few braces coming surely. Kante was the stand out though. We looked quite disjointed overall but that is unsurprising at this early stage. I guess the team will start moving the ball faster as they develop some understanding. I really don't see how we can have stronger squad than the one we have while keeping everyone happy. Great potential for this season!

When Hazard is on the pitch, he draws so much attention. This will open up Morata more

This ref immunity is bollox and only exists because the FA are happy for games to be manipulated to make this cash cow league more competitive, call it conspiracy but it's a stone cold fact. Refs tried to throw the Spuds back into the race last season, and did. Why do you think the heavy fines for "bringing the game into disrepute" because it's f**king obvious what they are doing but they make sure the managers don't dare say it so plausible deniability is there. The refs are giving us absolutely nothing and penalising us for small offenses. Bakayoko was tugged so many times but ref played on! It really sucks. I'm happy we go 3 points. I'm happy Bakayoko played and he looked so good, he will only improve esp decisions in the final third. Hazard is back and I'm happy. Willian is looking really good as well. I see a bright future! Morata, Morata, Morata! Love him

September 9, 20178 yr With Morata's headed goals it almost seems like we have an old fashioned English CF, IMO

September 9, 20178 yr Hard fought away win, in time the understanding & passing in the final 3rd should improve w Haz back, Pedro was off the pace refing was inconsistent as always Carrierbag next !
September 9, 20178 yr Also the refereeing standard was abysmal although he got their penalty right. It's been pretty shocking Baka was fouled countless times and nothing given then an absolutely stonewall penalty not given. We seem to know how to win which is what is important after international break's.

September 9, 20178 yr Quite like us in this game - think packing the midfield is the right thing to do for tricky away games although I'd rather Hazard along side Morata than Pedro who looked a bit spare in this game. impressed with Rudiger and Bakayoko in this match - had apprehensions about both but showing quality

September 9, 20178 yr 14 minutes ago, Slojo said: I'm sure Morata has scored like 3 identical goals now. His goals are almost un-defend-able for a lack of a better word. They can't play a high line because he has pace to get in behind and they can't play deep because we have players that can dribble past them and shoot. The only way to defend against him is by switching on for 90mins which is a difficult task even for the best of defenders. Our only downfall thus far is end product. Everything else has been good.
