They can't play a high line because he has pace to get in behind and they can't play deep because we have players that can dribble past them and shoot. The only way to defend against him is by switching on for 90mins which is a difficult task even for the best of defenders. Our only downfall thus far is end product. Everything else has been good. Huge fan of his since his Juve days, the reason I like him more than Costa is because he isn't as frustrating, Costa used to ruin so many good attacks when he linked up with Hazard, Pedro, Willian & Fabregas. Such a poor footballer, whereas Morata I've liked what I've seen of his link up play. He'll be our best signing this season mark my words.
September 9, 20178 yr That was a good match to watch, I don't think Leicester are as threatening a counter-attacking side as they have been but we kept them relatively contained. We were wasteful up top but we scored enough to win, so long as we're improving and picking up points I can't moan too much. Personally felt Fabregas struggled to make an impact higher up the pitch. I can see a 3-5-2 formation working when we have less of the ball but I think Willian may have been more effective in that role today. My only complaint comes after their goal, where we almost started to play too casually in an attempt to slow the game down. Better sides will punish us if we dither in possession and we were light in the tackles towards the end, nearly letting them in behind. Zappacosta looked promising when he came on. The end product wasn't quite there but that should come when he settles in. There were a few really good performances but Kante once again gets my MOTM. Another superb all round display, and a fine goal to win us the match. Now for Tuesday night, its been too long without! Edited September 9, 20178 yr by spadefx

September 9, 20178 yr Was comfortable till the penalty. A bit disjointed and complacent going forward, but there's reason to be excited. Rudiger looks good. Liked him at Roma, and he's also one of those vocal players with determination to succeed... A leader. It should start to show after a while. Bakayoko played quite well. He looks a bit unpolished but there's some useful qualities he's got that can really add a lot to the team. Morata scores again. Already scoring and once he gets an understanding with the players around him, you'd imagine he'll really take the league by storm. Should have been won by three goal margin rather than the one. (Clear pen not given, too.)

September 9, 20178 yr It was an important win, it was very important for us to get that victory and come with a better form towards the CL games. One thing is that we have a very solid defense, I think Azpi, Luiz, and Rudiger are doing a very good job that helps us focus more on scoring goals and creating chances than defending. Despite Azpi's error in the penalty, I think we had a very strong line, especially Rudiger who looks better and better. Kante and Bakayoko did a good job as well, a lot of tackles, inceptions, blocks, air duels. We could feel them at our central. Bakayoko can be even much better if he will do more runs with the ball to start a counter attack. Plus he needs much more fitness for the game. Morata wasn't at his best, but he scored a nice goal and he tried his best, sometimes everything can't be like you want it to be. He tracked down and worked for the team. Happy with him. Hazard, Willian, Pedro have to come better, a lot of them weren't at their best today. Hazard's performance is understandable, but we need him as faster as we can to gain his form back. We should focus on our next game, our boys look hungry and motivated, I'm happy with that. COME ON CHELS!!!

Look here is the thing, first y*dish is a language, it's hardly a f**king terrible slur to call a speaker of y*dish a y*d, it's like calling a scotsman a jock, it's not flattering but they wouldn't start marches over it, secondly most of the fans arent even Jewish yet proudly call themselves and chant y*d army, how can offense be taken when it's a self imposed and chanted name? Too much, imo.....I'm all for not offending people but come on the power of anti-semetic pressure groups in the media is so disproportionate. This isn't a slur aimed at jewish people, it's aimed at tottenham fans who refer to themselves as the y*d army and chant that sh*t, all while being 90 percent not jewish. If anything I'm not happy with it because give the guy a good chant not one you know people will moan to f**k about.
September 9, 20178 yr Just watching Match of the Day. Is Alan Shearer unhappy with our result or is it he's looking very unhealthy whatever? Usually he's one of the few whose opinion I rate, but tonigh he doesn' t seem to care.
September 9, 20178 yr Interesting that Shakespeare said they're not getting the luck. That could have easily been a penalty again Maguire, close range or not, he was sticking his arms way out from his body and that header was travelling if not for his hands.

No way was that a penalty,Chelsea were the opponents. The match previous at OT mind you had a cast iron one given when the player didn't even have his arms extended. When is a penalty not a penalty when it's a ...

You mean like when Klopp said Mane's red isn't a red? Managers deflect, it's part of the job.

Don't think Shearer has ever forgotten a crunching tackle by Huth which went unpunished by the ref at SB, also it's fashionable up North to hate Chelsea and to be fair he praised Morata tonight.
September 10, 20178 yr Leicester flattered by the scoreline, lucky not to get stuffed...a lot of our players aren't at 100 per cent yet which is why things are so encouraging...imagine chelsea once hazard, Morata, Bakayoko etc are all at their very best and have an understanding...meanwhile hype Utd and hype city are just one point ahead Edited September 10, 20178 yr by The Brit

Terrible coverage by match of the day again...left till near the end of the show (behind lengthy showing of arse routine win against lame Bournemouth?) and highlights made the game look far more even than it was..,even post match interviewer interviewed vardy and Shakespeare as if they were robbed somehow...totally bemused
September 10, 20178 yr Decent game and a good result but our attacking play stopped us running up a high score. Never mind the obvious pen we had turned down. Baka, Pedro, Alonso, Willian and morata on a few occasions decided to either take something on rather than go with the simple pass or ignore the easy pass for a harder one they then cocked up. Poor. We need to improve on that better teams will hurt us.
September 10, 20178 yr Key Opta stats: - Chelsea recorded their first away Premier League victory in the month of September since 2012 versus Arsenal (D4 L3 before today). - Leicester have lost 12 of their last 14 games against Chelsea in all competitions (W1 D1). - Since the start of the 2014-2015 season, Jamie Vardy has won more penalties in the Premier League than any other player (11). - Vardy has netted four goals in his last five Premier League appearances for the Foxes, including three in 2017-2018. - Only Diego Costa (7) and Cesc Fabregas (6) had more goal involvements within their first four PL apps for Chelsea than Morata (5 – level with Eden Hazard). - N’Golo Kante scored just his third Premier League goal of his career, also netting against Manchester United in October 2016 and Watford in November 2015.
September 10, 20178 yr Well deserved the win, again the scoreline flattered our opponent. How the f* are we ever going to get a penalty when the defender could stick an arm out to block a shot, yet referee waved away. Next time defenders will be catching our shots in the penalty box like Gk. Morata is proving himself game by game, I could almost sensing the goals are coming with each cross in the box. I know it's only 4 games, but he's going to get 25-30 once we get quality crosses more regularly in the box. I'm so glad the transfer window is over, now we have to care is football.
September 10, 20178 yr The last 25 or so minutes were a bit stressful, but overall, a comfortable victor even though we should have scored more. I absolutely love Conte. Top notch manager without the baggage. Hope we continue on this trajectory. I wasn't very confident of a title challenge going into the season, but if we continue this way, we may be up there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Bring on Qarabag
September 10, 20178 yr It was quite panicky towards the end. We should have finished the game before that itself. Tibo: A great save, brilliant in the air. Should have been better while going down against vardy. Nonetheless, good performance. 6/10 Moses: Decent performance. Needs to be better in the final 3rd. 7/10 Azpi : Brilliant. Him and Morata seem to be on the same wavelength. 9/10 DL : Decent performance. Did not put a foot wrong. 8/10 Rudi: I think he was great. Great in possession and positional play seems to be perfect. 9/10 Alonso: Should have scored if pedro had squared it for him. Good peformance. 8/10 Kante: Lost the ball a couple of times in vital postion. Other than that, bossed the mid. 8/10 Bakayoko - I thought he was our MOTM. Off and specially on the ball he seemed so great. His runs are so good. We have a great payer on our hands. 9/10 Cesc - I thought he was quite average. Lost the possession, his set pieces are a shocker. 6/10 Pedro - Same as Cesc, Should do better in teh last 3rd too. 6/10 Morata - Good goal, runs were quite good, put in a shift but literally could not see him in the last 30mins. Went Awol. Needs to have a better presence. 7/10
September 10, 20178 yr I thought we pretty much had the game comfortably. Not much pressure on Tibs. One silly error by Azpi and they were back in the game. Otherwise, we looked solid. Great to have the 3 points. It's an interesting lineup this September. Plenty of action.
