September 29, 20178 yr same tactics as against Atleti, liked Eden with his free role in behind Morata, Aguero & Mendy are out but really they have enough class to cover those positions and then some. Bakoyoko & Kante have to start, wanna see Dave, AC & Rudiger as back 3. Key is to hold the line cus they will come out of the blocks swinging and fast paced, dont think Pep does play for a safe away draw & hope to nick something. think it will be a draw, but you never know.
September 29, 20178 yr Regardless of Aguero's antics with Luiz I'm glad he's okay. City certainly aren't fortunate with these injuries, are they?
September 29, 20178 yr For me they still edge the 'favourites' tag'. Not much in it but they are scoring a lot and despite continuing criticism of their defence, they've kept a good few clean sheets. We need another performance like Wednesday and I think that's a big ask to play at that level again so soon. Think we've got to really go for then win though. The biggest prize tomorrow probably isn't the points but the psychological gain.

September 29, 20178 yr I'm glad the bloke seems ok but seriously, what was one of the worlds richest footballers, owned by one of the worlds richest club doing coming out of a concert in Holland at 2am trying to get back to England for a huge match the next day? No official car laid on for him, but then I expect that officially he wasn't meant to be there. In mind I can picture the scenario: Sergio fights his way through the throng of concert goers anxiously checking his watch. Aguero: TAXI TAXI!! (a ford cortina mark II screeches to a halt) DRIVER: (Wearing shades) Where's ya going dude? Aguero: (eyeing up the Cortina and driver with suspicion) "Airport. You a proper taxi?" Driver: Too ficcin' right mate....well Uber cab but I get you to airport quick and 10 euros cheaper (he has a dutch accent almost as strong as Steve MaClaren's after a long weekend in Amsterdam...Aguero climbs in). "I get you there in 20 ficcin' mins". Aguero: It's an hour journey?? Driver: Ok, 15 tops (car screeches off in a cloud of burning rubber). Aguero : Would you mind putting that thing out, I'm a professional sportsman? (Driver takes final drag of his spliff and tosses it out of window... he looks in his rear mirror at Aguero) Driver: Holly ficcin' sh*te, you is Sergio Aguero!! My wife wants to bang you like a barn door!! Wait till she hears about dis (Aguero says nothing and stares out window shaking his head). Driver flicks open phone with his right hand and dials. Aguero: Could you concentrate on road please (clicks on seat belt) Driver: (ignores him) Hey Gertie, guess who I got in the back of de cab?...no go on guess .....any guess.... don't be stupid, Adolf Hitler's dead....I'll tell ya who....Sergio ficcin' Aguero (audible scream comes from phone)....no I'm not pulling ya titties, it's Sergio ficcin' Aguero!! Hey Sergio can we get a cheeky selfie? Aguero: WHAT???? Too late, the driver holds up his phone and gets them both in shot....."Smile!" Somewhere in Holland right now an Uber cab driver has a photo pride of place on his mantle piece. The face in the photo looks vaguely familiar. It's hard to place as it's contorted in terror and screaming as it spies a lamp post heading towards his person at unreasonable speed.
September 29, 20178 yr Last week against Palace they gave up two chances at 0-0. A better strike force may have put them away. We will put them under more pressure and with speed and combination play we should be confident of a positive result.
September 29, 20178 yr Lot of confidence on here, nice to read. I cannot be myself. We have the talent to beat them I just doubt we have the legs too after Wednesdays super effort.
September 29, 20178 yr 6 hours ago, Slojo said: Because they by far have the most superior attack in the league. We failed to outplay Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and they're half the side City are. If we try to outplay City we only give them a decent chance of winning the game, if we play it smart we'll win. You can't let the likes of KDB & Silva have space, Fabregas is lethargic I would never trust him in a two-man midfield again against a top side. That was down to Conte's lineup. We could and should have battered those c**ts. I'm actually quite confident we'll beat City tbh.

I cannot be myself. We have the talent to beat them I just doubt we have the legs too after Wednesdays super effort. They've given up several dangerous chances to pretty much all the teams they've played so far, those teams have just been too sh*t to take advantage. If those chances fall to us, there's no chance we don't punish them for it. City aren't as invincible as they've been made out to be. Even Liverpool had them on the ropes before they got a red card.
September 30, 20178 yr Hmmm...Mendy and Aguero out. Aguero is a world-class striker with an enviable record against us, so this should hurt their chances. Because Danilo will probably be playing in Mendy's place, I would play Zappacosta instead of Moses. Zappacosta would provide more width and better crosses to test out City's defence, plus it will be difficult for Danilo to counter Zappacosta because he is naturally right-footed. It would be significantly easier for Danilo to counter Moses when he cuts in, much in the same way Bosingwa could negate Messi using his right foot. Plus, Danilo is none too potent defensively so pushing him back and forcing him to actually defend should work to our advantage. Willian versus Cesc is an interesting conundrum. Willian would in theory be perfect against a side like Man City because he works hard and is dangerous on the counter due to his pace. However, he has mostly been off-form and has been losing possession more than usual - far from ideal against a Guardiola side. Cesc will almost certainly keep possession but I'm not sure he has the fitness or stamina to start after that intense game against Atletico. I suppose what I would do is gamble and start Cesc as a deep-lying playmaker, with Bakayoko supporting him in defence while Cesc releases long balls for Hazard, Morata and even Kante to try and reach while playing on the counter. Cesc's ability to keep possession will also prevent Man City from counter-attacking with pace. Later on in the game, hopefully after we've secured a lead, you would then replace Cesc with Willian to exploit Man City's tired legs, with Kante and Bakayoko shoring up the midfield by staying back. I haven't really considered Pedro because he is better at sucking deep-lying defenders out of position with his movement. This won't be necessary against Man City because Guardiola's side likes to play a high defensive line and press aggressively so we will be able to get behind their defence more easily. I would play Rudiger ahead of Cahill for fairly obvious reasons, not least that Man City will come at us with pace. The rest of the lineup IMO picks itself. Maybe late on you would introduce Michy in place of Morata to grab a late goal. Edited September 30, 20178 yr by DaRick
September 30, 20178 yr If I could have handpicked 3 players to not play today, it would have been: Kompany, Mendy and Kun. The only way we dont get a win today would be through complacency.
September 30, 20178 yr I actually like Aguero a lot, he seems to be a very humble guy for professional football player. Despite what happened between him and Luiz I really believe that. So I hope he will fully recover quickly. Pep said they will try to monopolise the ball and play what they usually do. Wrong! That means he didn't finish his homework. Even Le Arse showed up with defensive tactics after all these humiliations and embarrassments. So I'm quite confident about this one. You cant just come to the Bridge, trying to monopolise the ball and hope you will get the 3 points. That never happens. They have to score 2 goals from 2 or chances in first 30 minutes so they can hope this tactics will give some positive. Which is not happening, especially with Aguero injured. 2-1 or 2-0 depends on Thibaut mental condition which is very unstable.
September 30, 20178 yr Im confident of a Chels win today. City are a great attacking side but i just feel that we are solid defensively and superb going forward..... 3-1 Chels!
September 30, 20178 yr Buzzing for this game cant wait no longer coming down now for a couple of pregame beers or two
September 30, 20178 yr Match day. After the marvellous performance in Madrid another tough one. Will be close.....COME ON YOU BLUES !
September 30, 20178 yr Surprised and disappointed by the lack of confidence from some supporters, fortunately Hazard made it clear that we are Chelsea and are not threatened by a team we gave a hiding last season and we are The Champions! After the gutting draw v Arsenal a win at home today is a must. Goals from Hazard and Alonso both set up by Morata. Come on the Chelsea Champs

Come on the Chelsea Champs I'm agree with you, but we must be humble and respect the opponent who is very stronger and it's improve it, in comparison at last year. The intent is the win, of course but the threatened from Man City is large... Come on blues !!!!!!
September 30, 20178 yr It won't be the end of the world if we lose, they are a side in very good form at the moment, so i'm just going to go into the game like I did the Atletico one, not really hoping or expecting anything in particular and just see what happens, and hopefully we'll be thoroughly entertained again!
