From there obviously they would need points against Roma. 3 points and anything but a win from us against Qarabag and it's game on. If they get a draw it would take something special from them against us at Stamford Bridge to get ahead of us.
October 31, 20178 yr Terrible I don’t know what’s going on really. i fear for the game against united now. we just are not looking good at all anymore

We continually fail to build on successful sides. That's two title winning seasons and twice we have went backwards, it's hardly a coincidence now, something is wrong here. A lot of fans know where the root of our problems lie, it's the board. I don't think it's any coincidence that after a successful season, we have struggled the next after the board has failed to back the manager. They just cause unnecessary tension and bad feeling that filters through the club as the season goes on. Our board is f**king woeful in my opinion, and they seem more concerned about selling players on for big money than building a squad full of depth and quality. If you are going to sell our f**king depth, then at least back the manager and bring in the players he needs, if you can't do that then don't sell the damn players !!
October 31, 20178 yr We can take this game as a lesson and just learn from Roma. I looked at Naingolann, De Rossi, Strootman, Perotti they all been sweat like they ran a marathon. They wanted more than us, they were looking to score more than us in the second half. We can blame only us, the second half was very very poor... We still not looking like a top team, if we will finish 2nd in our group stage, then we will have to worry. Anyways, Conte has a lot of work to do with the team, our next game is more difficult and we have a lot of time to improve before this game. Let's hope the boys will keep their heads up and come stronger against Man United. We have lost a game, not season. COME ON CHELS!!!!!
October 31, 20178 yr Sad that Batshuayi never got a single touch (well, hardly) and that when we get to the opponents box (this isn't just tonight) we slow down and don't attack. Teams will always sit back in against that and make it hard for us to score. It's also frustrating that from wide, some players will put a ball in, and there's noone there to meet it.
October 31, 20178 yr OK OK look, i know that was crap BUT we are 4th in the premier league and we are actually ok in the champions league. Our situation is actually pretty reasonable. Just need to pick it up a bit now.
October 31, 20178 yr When you sh*t the bed but Atletico might actually end up playing in the Europa League instead:

October 31, 20178 yr I think Gerrard spoke a lot of sense. All this chopping and changing in the back three can't be good for the defensive unit on the whole. And I know Cahill isn't the most talented of our centre backs, but after he went off we looked sloppier than ever at the back.
October 31, 20178 yr Only feeling high, when you've been feeling low Only know you love him when you let him go

October 31, 20178 yr Depressing stuff but relax people, all is not lost. We have a spine that really needs to learn to play together. It's quite clear that the defence at least don't understand each other particularly well. Morata is not at 100%. The squad has a lot to learn but they will need time and luck.

Well time to wipe that Roma cum off my face and do something else to cheer me up.

October 31, 20178 yr Awful, truly awful. Can't pin blame on one person, so many individual mistakes I lost count, lack of interest from the players even the ones coming off the bench with a "point to prove". Conte doesn't escape criticism either, we've been flat for a while now and as people alluded to - Fab and Baka have been woeful together. Both have qualities but together they are a disaster and make each other worse players, yet they were still picked. Last season when we were flat he changed the system, there's been no sign of that flexibility here and it's very concerning. I see two scenarios - one he changes the team Sunday, Kante comes in back in and we snap out of our collective funk. Two - poison mourinho and the filth do us at home and our season doesn't recover. Dramatic I know but the atmosphere around the team is very grim and we've struggled now for a while. I really love Conte but something feels wrong and knowing our board, a loss at the weekend and the writing seems on the wall. Not that I agree with that in the slightest, we could finish 10th again and I'd keep him but I'm not Abromovich :(
October 31, 20178 yr Thanks God for Qarabag. What a get out of jail card. Beat Qarabag and we are through. No excuses for performance though. Shocking and could and should have been more. Hazard after that challenge, seemed to take stuffing out of him. Serious questions need to be asked after this. Awful performance.
October 31, 20178 yr Would've accepted that performance if Conte'd given a chance to some other players. But this starters and this performance and given the chances that 9 out of these 11 will start against United... no, in this case, this is not acceptable.
October 31, 20178 yr Well if PSG want Kanté it'll be two hundred million and a night with the supermodel/pornstar of your choice for every fan.
October 31, 20178 yr I honestly believe our difficulties all relate to the Cesc / Bakayoko 2 man midfield. It's throwing the whole team out of shape and providing no cover for the back 3. There's a graphic on the BBC website showing our players' average positions, Cesc and Bakayoko were playing in the same space, literally on top of each other. Kante can't return soon enough and we need to establish either Kante / Bakayoko or Kante / Drinkwater as a pairing. Morata looks like he's shrinking in stature before our eyes, he needs better service and a goal. All we can expect is that there is a really positive reaction v Man Utd but if Conte starts Cesc and Bakayoko again we're doomed.
October 31, 20178 yr toothless in the attack as time went on ... We basically played """well""" at 0-1. But after the second goal, it's been a wnakfest ... 3 at the back has left us exposed since we've been found out. We need to play 2DM ... FAB IS NOT WORKING WITH BAKA!!!! BRING BACK KANTE ASAP!!!!! Also, morata needs to stick his fingers out of his ass... really disappointed since we could have done much better as there was some really nice chances that we unforgiveably missed ... Anyway, KTBFFH and UTC!!!!!
October 31, 20178 yr I'm reminded of the Ivanovitch / Fabregas / Hazard / Costa debacle under Mourinho when it comes to a few of our starters right now. They need parking on the bench, but will the manager trust the rest of the squad?
October 31, 20178 yr 7 minutes ago, ivorycoast said: This is all Conte's fault, with his terrible tactics in the midfield. He changed a winnable game into a complete disaster. It's like he's trying to lose on purpose. What a f**king ridiculous comment. Conte wants to win every match more than anyone and cannot be held accountable for certain players being completely inept.
October 31, 20178 yr I thought we played ok in the first half, we were very unlucky to be 2 down, 2 bad goals to let in defensively and wasted chances from us. 2nd half was pathetic, when is Conte going to realise that playing a midfield 2 of Baka and Fab just doesn't work. We look completely shot of confidence and we have United on Sunday. Conte has his work cut out to get this group together for then. The only positive is the other game in the group. A win in Quarabag and we're through, so at least this defeat might not prove to damaging to our chances of qualifying.
October 31, 20178 yr Shambolic performance but one has to look at the positive side of things. 1st season back in Champions league. After draw made if i had been offered two games left Qarabag and Atletico to win one of them for next round would have jumped for joy.
