Fabregas was/is too slow! Conte eventually gave up on Baka in January and played Cesc in a 2 man midfield for months even vs Barca, if Baka wasn't his signing he would have made an example of him a lot sooner.

Money wasted. Totally agree. Could have gotten a top player with £75m however every signing has its risks i.e Morata and we have made some terrible ones recently both outgoings and incoming. I am a big fan of Odoi, hope he succeeds here although I do understand why managers are reluctant to play youngsters as they are under pressure from fans and board to succeed immediately or get fired.

Yes, he did. To be fair to Baka he is still a young guy, initially he started really well and the game against Atletico Madrid he was outstanding. Conte gave him plenty of opportunities and I have no doubt that if Chalobah had stayed Conte would have played him rather than Fabregas.

Matic was out or not fit enough to start in both games vs City in the title winning season and Conte chose Fab, small sample size but still. As soon as Conte decided against a player that seems to be that (im actually with him re Nate, i love the guy and i wish i could say otherwise but he's bang average). Edited July 31, 20187 yr by Argo

Same for me, I don't expect him to start games in the league since Sarri will probably focus to win all games like Conte in the title winning season, but to come off the bench and start in FA Cup and Europe league should be a given.

Completely agree! He should be getting most cup games as well as the must-win Europe League matches. In addition it would be great to see him coming on from the bench in PL. Perhabs som starts against the weaker sides.
August 1, 20187 yr Watch out, Eden Hazard. What a performance from CHO so far. If we could get him to play RW then it would be like a new signing.
August 1, 20187 yr Looks like he could be the next big thing. Showed more to me than any of the younger players coming through since Terry.
August 1, 20187 yr We’re being linked with young wingers like Leon Bailey and Pulisic but do we have as good of a talent already here? If Willian goes maybe we don’t have to look much further than this lad?
August 1, 20187 yr Both CHO and Ampadu must form an integral part of this team this season. Regardless of what Sarri is saying now these players have to be given the chance to bloom

Conte was closest as he played Andreas who had 2 years loan experience and still got dropped when he started risking mistakes. Think sarri is willing to risk his big break on youth? I doubt it

August 1, 20187 yr Didn't watch the game, but wow, I know it's a pre season game but he was a different class to a few others
August 1, 20187 yr Author There was one point where the was played forward and he was equal with Bellerin, then he sped past him like nothing. Bellerin is one of the fastest players in the PL, so that was impressive. I dunno why he kept trying to pass to Morata, he should have just gone himself. Usually he's a little more selfish.

August 1, 20187 yr That vidoe does two things for me. 1. Excites me that we have such a young talent who looks ready to step up to the plate. 2. Saddens me our striker looks like his boots are filled with lead

I thought he would tire out, but before he got subbed off he still looked to be going strong.

His tracking back was good to see, a few times he robbed them of possession but unfairly penalised for fouls. A performance way past his years
