Yes, it would be brilliant if he really stood out and makes Sarri take notice. I hate the idea of this lad getting sent out on loan for a few seasons just because that's the norm. CHO might just be our Mbeppe (he is 2 years younger than Mbeppe). Be great to buck the trend and keep him with the first team squad and if goes to plan, two years down the line we have a 19 year old setting the football world on fire.

I can but dream.

I didn’t see much of the first half, but it sounds like CHO was solid.  Saw some GIFs on twitter of him leaving defenders in the dust.  I also just noticed for the first time that he is wearing number 20.

Odoi was very good in the first half, I'd go as far as saying he was our best attacking threat

I liked how he shrugged off that perth player jumping all over him in our half, to make that blistering run into their half. He is 17 ffs along with ampadu it's mad. Sarri has hopefully seen something promising.

He deserves a chance, but we can't rely on him to play too many games at 17, that's far too much pressure for a kid. Maybe something like 10 appearances with a couple of starts would be a great way to bring him through carefully without overloading him.

20 appearances I'd say, considering we have Europa League, cups and hopefully he'd make at elast a few PL starts

I would say he deserves a chance if Willian goes or not. Every time he played last season he was direct and always took on players. I felt like we missed that in a lot of matches. The kid definitely deserves a shot I just know know if he will actually get one. It will be interesting to see what happens as his contract is up 2019/2020, I believe. So if he doesn't get the chances he thinks he deserves or goes out on some arbitrary loan he may end up signing somewhere else.

Apparently offered him a five year deal and a promise of being in the first team squad.

Him and ampadu the same. Both good enough. Both should be in the first team squad and getting regular games.

Hope he gets to the first team more often than his peers did in the past. Seriously, even if we keep Hazard and Willian, I want to see him before Pedro.

He hasn't officially been given any number. The numbers are distributed in pre-season on a game by game basis. I he stays, he will be given an official number when he's been registered.

The lad looks quality but I think we need to temper expectations, 17 year olds are notoriously inconsistent. The last thing we need is him being first choice and fans going mental and calling for his head because he misses a 1v1 against Wolves.

 

We cannot rely on a 17 year old if Willian goes. We need another world class winger, put Pedro to 4th choice and give CHO his minutes as 3rd choice IMO.

 

By the time he’s 20, Hazard will be 30ish and Pedro will be approaching mid 30’s.

Exactly, mate.  Keep him and bleed him in.  I'd actually love for him to learn from playing with Eden
