What's the point of this? Even our board isn't stupid enough to actually think players like Carroll or Crouch are at the level required to even be a backup striker for our club.

In multiple news sources, Telegraph was one.

someone has to be having a joke. how can crouch be a legitimate target? andy carroll i wasn't happy about, but could at least somewhat understand it as back up, but crouch is just taking the biscuit. he will not solve our goal scoring issues. if conte genuinely wants a target man (which it seems he does, wanting lukaku first and then llorente) then i can't support that. it means playing one style of football, and it's even worse if you think a target man like crouch is acceptable for a club with an ounce of ambition. i am so not a fan of lumping it up to the big man. we had it plenty under mourinho and it was frustrating to watch, but at least we had costa and drogba so it was bearable. i want us to move away from that style of play asap, i'm just afraid we're going back in that direction under conte. i don't like it and not a fan.
