June 7, 20188 yr Diego Costa has scored 3 goals in 15 games for A.Madrid last season. Did we sell him at the right time?

He scored 7 goals 6 assists in 23 appearances (4 goals 2 assists in the Copa del Rey/Europa League) - 0.57 average in total (that's better than Morata) so for me I'd say no we didn't. June 21, 20188 yr Probably comfort eating having to watch Costa score for fun at the World Cup, while he's too sh*t to even get in the squad. I know I am. Edited June 21, 20188 yr by Zeta

June 22, 20188 yr All footballers put on some weight in the off season as the self training is certainly not as intense when back at the club....personally I'd keep him, he's young, he has pace and while he missed a few 'sitters' now and then, he certainly isn't the cause of our problems; don't forget he was also injured which I am sure didn't help his cause. It's a case of which two of the three strikers we keep going in this season and which one we sell; it will be difficult, as each have their strengths and weaknesses, and of course it depends which manager we end up with..
June 22, 20188 yr Pretty sure he wont end up in Germany, think the rumor got him and the Batsman mixed up. The demand for him seemed pretty high, be silly to write him off now after 1 season.

And Im not saying that because its basically the exact same as mine now since I packed in footie 3 months ago...honestly.

But surely if, as rumoured, a deal was in the offing of Morata for Higuain we should bite their hands off. Higuain may be a bit older but he is a proven goalscorer. Morata has effectively worked his way into second string at each of his clubs

Morata has effectively worked his way into second string at each of his clubs Morata is 25 Higuain is 30 and we know that this club does not issue lengthy contracts to 30yr olds....Morata has yet to mature as a striker, I'd give him at least another season to see what he can really do in this league when fully fit with no distractions that he had last season...if he doesn't deliver a decent season (depending on if the club has everyone settled down and in a good frame of mind) then consider offers. I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bath water just yet.
June 22, 20188 yr Personally would rather giroud be our main striker rather than either of those two. Got a lot of time for a selfless player who brings others in to the game.
June 28, 20188 yr Allegedly his agent is going to meet with the club next week to discuss his future... Apparently Morata wants to leave. With his weak mentality, I'm not surprised. If we can get back the £60m we paid for him, I think we could find an adequate replacement. The Higuain rumour is still doing the rounds, although I'm not sure we'd invest in a player over 30. Icardi or Immobile would be preferable.
June 28, 20188 yr Chelsea have set a meeting with Alvaro Morata’s agent for next week to decide what to do next. The forward wants to leave for a new club. Chelsea will ask for £65/£70M. [@DavidAmoyal] Amoyal is part of Di Marzio's staff and is very reliable... not surprised at this soft attitude from morata, he's soft on the pitch and he's soft off it, preferring to run from a challenge rather than take it on... I regret saying we should give him another chance next season. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise and we'll get a striker who's actually got balls and isn't a little softy who falls over 22 times a game Icardi definitely the dream signing but with inter strenghtening and us in total turmoil, don't know how much that's realistic Edited June 28, 20188 yr by CFC_montreal
June 28, 20188 yr It’s a shame because there is clearly a player there in Morata. His touches and intelligent moves are incredible. It’s a shame he has a weak mentality. I would be keen to keep him for one more season and see what Sarri can get out of him. Morata’s goal return was still decent and he went AWOL for 2 months n
June 28, 20188 yr If he wants to leave then let him. The difference between an average player and a great one is always mentality. His finishing could be worked on but his overall game just doesn't suit Conte's style.
June 28, 20188 yr Im staggered at the amount we are valuing this guy at. He wants to leave because this is a man's game here and his weak, gutless performances isn't suited the the PL. Sell or keep him, we need to get a proper main striker whether he is 22 or 42, just soneone that can stand on his two feet for a whole game.

June 28, 20188 yr I think a loan for Alvaro though doubt we will recoup our investment. Edited June 28, 20188 yr by Strider6003
