Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

I'm prepared for the club to be midtable again this season. I don't want it to but that seems to be how it is considering the lack of anything this summer

Yup I feel the same way.

I know some of you always try to act like all is well and the rest of us are panicking for no reason but surely NO ONE can be comfortable with the way things have gone this summer? Especially considering the way the season ended?

42 days gone in the summer transfer window, 37 days to go. That's more than half of the summer gone and preseason about to start and we still don't know what's happening with our manager. If we're going into the season with Conte then come out and say so and let the players know so we know exactly what we're doing and get whatever new players we want to get in. If we're getting Sarri then pay whatever it is we need to pay and get this nonsense wrapped up as soon as possible. What is this f**king mess????

I swear Marina's reign at the top has been utterly disastrous. Even if we end up getting Sarri in now in a few days, a lot of time he would have spent in preparation for the team has been wasted and that could be detrimental to the way we start next season. Especially when you consider that his philosophy of football is not one you can adopt very easily and will need time. Marina looked a lot better when she was only in charge of negotiations. Now that she has nobody to tell her to speed things up, she must be feeling like she needs to win a big ego contest with De Laurentis over f**king 8m. Half of what we paid for players like Baba Rahman in our sleep. A third of what we paid for a scrub like Zappacosta who's about to be binned again at a loss. 8 f**king million is what Marina is foolishly trying to derail our season over before it even starts.

But I digress. I'm just a know nothing ungrateful millenial who has no clue about what's really going on behind closed doors at the club afterall.

So Conte was right all along moaning about lack of organisation and aspirations. He just had the balls to say it out loud in hope that someone in the hierarchy would listen..

ive said it before and I will say it again. Conte is and will be our manager this season.

Then they need to come out and f**king say it and squash all of the Sarri rumours. This silly uncertainty is highly unhealthy for the club. WTF is wrong with Marina???

Yep. He was right. As much as his whinging was WAY over the top and got quite irritating at some point, it doesn't take away from the message. We need a total overhaul. I would be glad to see the end of Marina at CFC but sadly, that's not happening thanks to Roman. This is what happens when you hand the keys over to someone who knows a A LOT about business and ZERO about football.

Is she also in charge of PR now ?

Who do you think the PR department takes orders from at the moment? Or do we have a DOF no one knows about? What a silly thing to say. Even Bruce Buck has hardly reared his head the past few years.

Hey. You said you would join my side if we didn't have a manager and hadn't signed Messi by July. Time for you to whine with me Yorkley.

End of July.  It was implicit, if not explicit! ::MooNeY::

The board just wants to wind up Conte, making him think he needs to drag his arse through another season with epically miserable weather and failing, untalented players, when he was expecting a multi-million pay-off :wink:

It'll be sad at the end of Eden Hazard's career with us when we look back and wish we had made better decisions and taken full advantage of his talent. Imagine if we had those regrets about Lamps and JT.

Quite possibly but the public moaning I can't stand say it behind close doors not the public which clearly affected the team.

That would be so unprofessional that i acctually think its true.

So in less than a week we are supposed to sack Conte, hire Sarri, Sarri move from Napoli to London, prepare the preseason. Oh i forgot about the whole coaching staff aswell.

Edit: Oh and i forgot about signing a DoF also.

How can Roman be happy with the way things are being run recently?

He was about to invest for a billion pound stadium and then suddenly he isn't welcomed in the country anymore...That probably affected everyone at the club that is in a top position at least.
But if we ignore the media talk, our manager is Conte that won the Premier League and FA cup in his first 2 seasons so maybe Roman doesn't even care if we lose Hazard and others since the manager is good enough to see his contract through.

It's a bad look and sends bad signals to the market but as long as it is done by the time preseasons starts next week it'll be okay. I imagine a couple of signings will follow quite quickly.

Roman has told me to tell you to stop fretting because:

Pre-season starts on 9th July for players not at the world cup;

Sarri will be the new manager in time for the 9th July;

Rugani and Alisson will be the only new additions to squad unless any key player leaves; and

The squad will be trimmed down to 23 players (2 players for each position plus a third goalkeeper) all the other fringe payers will be sold or loaned out.

Think we will make the announcement on the day with no WC game, imagine we make an announcement tonight just before the England game, the media will go nuts over the attention seeking Chelsea.

No they won't.

It was done, now it’s not, he signed a deal, no he hasn’t, the experts don’t have a clue. Courtois leaving for his kids, Luiz, Willian & maybe Hazard leaving if Conte stays, that would give us less than a month to replace them. I’m struggling with this one, this is one insane way to run a club, with minimal planning and hard ball negotiators.

Players can't leave unless we sell them. If we can't get our act together to sign a manager we aren't going to be able to sell a player.

I'm quite interested in this.  Have they actually said that, or are we inferring it from random  interviews?

It's a fact of English tabloid life that they report conflicting stories, made up because the club doesn't go public on every twist and turn of multi-million negotiations. We don't know what's happening behind the scenes. The fact that we are impatient for news that isn't forthcoming doesn't necessarily mean the club is being run in an insane way.
