April 14, 20188 yr A few thoughts from being at the match today Hazard made some excellent off the ball runs today but never got a quality delivery until the second half. He worked the entire time. Christensen looked slow today against LongZappacosta was very exposed, every Southampton attack came past him. Giroud - you could tell from the moment he came on that he was capable of turning things around. He looked so strong and determined The fans didn’t stop singing, even at 2-0 down. They pursing the saints fans for most of the match.
April 14, 20188 yr 3 minutes ago, Slojo said: You actually think that's a valid comparison? Torres was about 28 when we signed him and 50 million then was 100 million today and he was having a very poor season due to his injuries which came quite clear after we signed him. Morata turned 25 in October, just because he's not "young" doesn't mean he's old either, has plenty of time to develop. Morata has also scored 11 goals in the Premier League, Torres had about 1 in his first season and after that, he barely scored any. He finished his Chelsea career with 20 goals... So if you think that's going to be the case with Morata I highly recommend that you never take up scouting in your professional career. You constantly berate the board for selling our ex-players then you're calling Conte a bald c**t in match day threads and telling him to sell Morata after one season. It's quite clear what type of fan you are, a reactionary child who throws his toys out the pram. Or you can look at their playing styles, the problems that they are facing and find the immense number of similarities between the 2 players. Reactionary? How many times has our midfield been totally dominated with cesc in a 2-man mid. If a multi million dollar earning manager cant see the glaring problems in our team and continues to make the same mistake just so as to prove the point that the players bought are not good enough then he deserves all the abuse he can get. And talking about type of fans: Atleast I want the players that increase our chances to win to play, rather than personal favourites.

I'm using Reactionary as the noun definition, as in you are a reactionary person. When things aren't going your way you go overboard about it. How can you expect other posters to take your opinions seriously when so many of them are filled with kneejerks? I wasn't happy with Conte's decision making either but look at my post compared to your multiple ones in the thread, I wasn't insulting Conte but I was heavily questioning what his deal is. I would hate this forum to one day become a normality for people to insult our players after a share of bad performances. Like you get kids on twitter referring to Gary Cahill as a "spastic", a man who has won every trophy here and contributed too them. Yes, I do like Morata as a player, but am I happy with him this season? No, not at all. But to get rid of him after one season when you could name about 10 players guilty of underperforming just sounds really silly. The rational thing to do would be give Morata another season. if Juve come knocking for a big offer and we have a replacement at the door then fair enough. But what if that replacement doesn't kick things off right away in his first season? What do we do then? Do we sell that player also and keep selling players until we eventually find a striker who does have a good first season and before we know it Morata has developed at his other club and he's become a solid striker. And before people say "I highly doubt that" It's happened 3 times here, I wouldn't be so optimistic about his failing if we moved him on. Edited April 14, 20188 yr by Slojo

Problem with abusing Cahill is that he is a player who gives his all, but is limited. Give me a post of me abusing him in any way. Problem with Conte is that, he "SEEMS" to be intentionally doing things to hurt us. If you have a rational explanation of the constant moaning, same team, same players, same tactics - I will accept it and apologize for it. And this moment, the guy looks to have a grudge against the board and not at all 'trying", infact, if i had to guess, he is trying his hardest to screw us over. Such a person does not deserve any respect in my opinion. And yes, we are different people who deal with things in different manner. The minimum I want to see off players and managers is the FIGHT and the intent. Here in lies the difference, you rate him and like him - I dont. I feel he is a bad fit, not just for chelsea but the PL as a whole. He might go on to be a salah and prove me hopelessly wrong (I have never ridiculed the board for it, because he looked poor - but lukaku and kdb - hell yes). But i wont take that chance. I will take a chance with a player who I feel is a good fit for the club (for all my OTT reactions, ever seen me say anything about AC?), but thats the point, its about what one deems to be a good fit. If his replacement struggles but looks to be doing the basics right and looking like a good fit - I would stick with him. As for profession - working as a data scientist and quite happy with it.
April 14, 20188 yr I love a good comeback...seems an age since our last one...think it may have been Man City last season! so used to the players just giving up and they were doing it again..,took an ex Arsenal player to show the kind of pride and passion that should have been a given in many of the chelsea players who started today
April 14, 20188 yr I am reading that the FA will likely charge Alonso for his challenge on Shane Long. I didn't hear about it, but did vertonghen get charge on his challenge on Hazard on that dreadful day? IMHO that was 100% worse & Hazard was a lucky boy not to get injured. Just in case everyone forgot, look as this silly sh*t
April 14, 20188 yr Alonso challenge was 100% red it was a bad one. As for who gets retrospective God knows how they decide.
April 14, 20188 yr Great come back and a well-fought win. All what Chelsea is about. If we had had the same clinical finish last weekend, we should have put at least two by the spammers. Alonso's tackle may have been red (though I don't think it was deliberate), but if retrospective refereeing is going to be the norm, those sh*theads from the sh*tlane would not have enoug players for most of the weekends. It only seems to apply to us, if that is what is going to happen.

Do you want to sabotage a relationship with him? because he's not used to have so many attackers on the pitch. defending is the only way to go, you know

No attempt to play the ball and lands a blow on the back of Long's calf with is studs. Shame as he laid on that cross nicely for Giroud though perhaps we will now get to see Palmieri.
April 15, 20188 yr Re. Inconsistency of the retrospective rules being applied..,Doesn't help that tv seem to dwell on every time one of our players do something...cant dispute Alonso did a shocker but lost count Of the amount of times Spurs players have done shockers over the years and it just be laughed off...most notably in that 2016 game against us...but even this season, Kane and Alli did two horrible tackles v citeh and there was no outcry whatsoever...because they're England darlings maybe? Don't you mean the first comeback in the league this calendar year, not sure what you meant by barcodes initially though now see it's Newcastle where we won 1-3. www.bounder.friardale.co.uk/Results/2017.htm#4994 About time too.
April 15, 20188 yr Poor Southampton. They are heading for the relegation trap door aren't they? We have been poor all year, were poor here until giroud got us going, saints must be really poor to lose 3 goals in 8 minutes. If a normal Chelsea had done it fair enough but this team, which is basically devoid of soul and effort, speaks volumes for them sadly. Still they can play with freedom and no concern when we face them at Wembley. Then is our turn to feel the pressure.
April 15, 20188 yr We have very good players, there just happens to be a lack of "British never give up attitude" time for a mass clear out, give some kids a chance also ban Alonso before the league do. The young Italian leftback looks keener and quicker........still only my opinion. Conte how have the board managed to kill his passion? He has given up, shame he was our driving force.
April 15, 20188 yr Only just caught the highlights, two class finishes from giroud, surely he has to start before Morata

Up till the 70th minute we very poor, and was even thinking of getting the early train home at one point, the manager nor the team could be bothered so why should I, but I stayed supported the team and was worth it for 8 glorious minutes, but the comeback only glosses over a poor display and again poor team selection and leadership from the manager. Anyway that win might give us some fresh impetus.

They sold Van Dyke, who I don't rate that highly anyway, and replaced him with dross.
April 16, 20188 yr A good fight back but we were dreadful in the first half...sorry to bleat on but Conte has to go...what the hell is his problem with Rudiger? Cahill, Febregas, Moses can all be sold this time round...and it's time to get some of our homegrown talent in like RLC, CHO and others...

So a few days later, trippier does something very similar to Alonso on Sanchez nowhere near the ball, ref misses it... the Beeb who obsessed over Alonso, barely say a word in commentary and nothing in studio....later Alli does a terrible studs down the back of leg and heel...this time he at least gets a yellow, but again it's brushed over by the Beeb, who actually talked more about whether Valencia should have been sent off for a challenge he did.
