Players shouldn't already know how to press. Different managers have different schemes for pressing and often times have multiple triggers for when players should move up to press (Some have up to 20+ different scenarios which trigger pressing). Also depending on where the ball is and where the opponents are affects the movements of the players when they press the opposition. These are all things that are trained for the whole team to move in coordination with each other.

Have you watched our previous games? They have played really well, but again half the time never had a world cup to go to so they have had to get their fitness levels up in this past 2 weeks, travelling back and forth around the world. All the while under a new system and coach. We are playing against a team who know how to play for the past 2 seasons. Our style has changed 360 degrees from Conte/Mourinho style we've been used to. I am surprised we're not getting beaten by more tbh.

We’ve made a massive c##t of the transfer window only bringing in one player. It’s laughable really, this squad seriously lacks pace - particularly in the middle of the park to play this type of football.

Yes we have.
For the fourth summer in a row non the less,

Well, Sarri has annoyed me already. Instead of giving Hudson-Odoi a chance, he has put faith in Pedro who has done nothing good all game. Give the youngster a chance for once.

Hudson-odoi is worse defensively. Teams exploit his side a lot because of his poor positioning. He needs time to improve off the ball

It was never going to be an easy game today, City were miles ahead of everyone last season and probably will be again this year. Hopeful that with time and once the full squad is back we will improve, both going forward and defensively.

And marina and the board will blame sarri like they alwsys do...it baffles me that they bring anyone they want and never support with the player who suit the manager's style

They spent our second highest ever transfer fee on a player he wanted....

They used to call it the honeymoon.

Sure have your say and remark on the performance, but don't be so stupid to judge Sarri or think it has any bearing on the next 9 months. Half of our team are squad players, the cream of the squad is yet to play under Sarri, or even meet him in some cases.

Only a fool would start spouting off about how poor we are considering the above.

A fair starting point to start judging Sarri will be on next years calendar.

City bringing on jesus for mahrez,we have brought on drinkwater and abraham ffs, hiw did roman let it get like this

Because we can't afford to go out and spent 60 million on a bench player.

We have to give it time......but thinking this team will fight for the title is way way out there imo. Are people worried now maybe? We have bought a gorginho, and I have high hopes for him, but simply far far away being enough......

I never expected to challenge for the title anyway, it's too soon for that. My biggest worry is this so called Sarriball not working in the league. It can work with the right players, but i'm not sure we have them and i'm not sure it will work playing at this pace. It's not Serie A, we will need to play the ball much much quicker in the Premier League. I'm also not a fan of high lines, i think it's asking for trouble. It's fine if you are the best club in the league you are playing in, because you'll have the ball more often than not, but when you're not the best team in the league, then it's probably not going to end well.

A player....exactly .... he wants rugani...he wants a fast attacking midfielder...he wanted a striker...all he got is jorginho

At least we can all agree that if we arent going to play Outback Joes FC or some rubbish outfit, Barkley cant be ik the starting 11. Back to back terrible performances

We dont spend 60million on star players, we spent 5 x 30million on sh*t players which has accumulated into a terrible squad, we dont deserve kante or hazard tbh

I feel people are more jumping on the club for once again failing to bring in the players that's needed.
You are right that half the team is squad players but we only have three starters missing and one of them wants to leave already.
Which means our squad will still be sorely lacking even whey they are back.
