Not a great performance - we seemed fairly slow and sluggish throughout, but we did what we had to.

Arsenal lost for the first time since August, so ultimately this evening has worked out in our favour.

Brighton are better at home than they are away, but I don't know how we can play so well one week and yet phone it in the next.

Thats how I see it.......its been on for years and years and you cant see it. Take a look at our rivals and compare. And yes we are singled out at every facet......you cant see it, tough luck.

Comfortable first half, but we made it look difficult in the second, especially the last half an hour when we completely lost control of the game.

Still - an away win at a tricky ground, Arsenal lost, Loftus-Cheek got more gametime, and no racist/homophobic incidents so far - overall a good start to our Sunday. Now all we need is Liverpool to get José-d and we're golden.

3 important points, especially when Arsenal lost points. 

First half was excellent, second half we were playing with overconfidence and Brighton didn't give up, we could easily end up with a draw here. We have to work on these situations when we lead to double our leading and not to lose that. 

Anyways, our faces on the next match, let's continue to hunt City and Liverpool! COME ON CHELS!!!!

Not exactly an inspired performance, but got there in the end.

All the pressing and quick passing of the first few Sarri games seems to have gone now. It's much slower.

Sarri needs to incorporate prevention subs in his game. this is like the 10th game the team is about to collapse and the cameras catch him chewing his tobacco. Just do subs before we concede goal/s, god damn it.

Good win. Poor in the end. Marcos Alonso is a lucky boy and i really feel like we need Emerson Palmieri to take that spot or get an LB that Sarri likes. What really bothers me the most about this game is the fact that our goal keeper got a yellow card for time wasting against Brighton! Come on .... that is just cheap.

Give it time. People need to get their screen recordings uploaded and then posted to twitter.

Overall we were the better side and we were unlucky with 2 chances missed one by hazard in the first few minutes in the 2nd half and Alonso with the bar saving the goal.

 

however, we need to be able to kill games and put teams out of our sight. Alonso really is looking suspect defensively and if we are to progress further we need to be looking for better options at lb.

He needs to learn this aint Italy.....teams will not give up unless you are mauling them.....a 2-0 lead is nothing unless you are solid all over the pitch. It will come soon enough. Took Conte a while to get it too.

Alonso gets targeted every game.......thats cuz he just aint a decent defender. Emerson needs to replace him, he needs a breather maybe.

Alonso was always targeted - no breather is going to help his lack of pace.

He was much better in 343 but that a Whole another system that suited him. He needs to sit a few games out.....let Emerson stretch his legs a bit.

Well done Chelsea another 3 points gained. Really did not want to lose this one as only live a couple of miles from the Amex. My daughter was working at the Amex for the game and was chuffed as she is also a Chelsea fan and she was  delegated working in the away end

Hey - Moses was good in that system too ;).  

Win’s a win but we made hard work of that.

Still conceding way too many chances to the opposition. 

The left hand side of the team looked pretty shoddy today.

Kante had a good game, growing into that midfield role more and more.

Not sold on the False 9, think we lack a presence when the ball goes wide, I think it makes us more one dimensional, the ball is even more likely to come inside.

Damn, I totally forgot about him......but still both were improtant players us winning the title. But nahh, defending is not Alonso's powernod.

Just about to watch the match. Saw the result and saw much of the comments here. Won't expect much of the game. Easier to enjoy though with 3 points in the bag. 

Good win even better given Arse losing, made it a little difficult for ourselves towards the end but a wins a win, onto the next 1 UTC.

3 points and to top it off Arsenal lost. Brighton were far better than us second half. This will be the first time I want Man Utd to win.

From an opposition defenders point of view playing with those three up front in the false #9 is a nightmare, they would much rather have something to get their teeth into, a presence to hug and to hold, someone they can throw to the ground like in wrestling. Until we have a #9 who can play the hugging and holding and throwing around game (like your old mate Diego) we will have no other option but to continue leaving our strikers out of the picture.
