Like what Potter is doing with the offense - actually playing the players where they are best. That asswipe Tuchel didn't do that. Love Mount in more of an attacking mid role. Dude is a good passer, and a good defender. I think Pulisic is much better than Mount at taking guys one on one. The higher you can push CP upfield, the better. And you could tell how rusty CP was today - but he was constantly getting into dangerous spots. Hopefully the beautiful goal will earn him more PT. Charming.

Still don't rate him as a player but if he keeps scoring maybe he'll change my mind. He has to actually play to score. His minutes between goal are competitive with the other attacking players on this team. And quite frankly for this season they are probably way better than most because of how many minutes Havertz and Mount played at the beginning of the season and did absolutely jack.

Across his entire career Pulisic averages a goal contribution every 8 games. Has the lowest G/A per 90 of any attacking player at the club across their careers. Is the only attacking player at the club to never score double figures in a league season, the only attacking player to never have double figures for assists in a season. Took his goal well today after a lot of missed chances but the idea of Pulisic getting more time on the pitch leading to consistent goals is flimsy. Don't think he did enough to get in contention to start on Tuesday but a positive step.

Was our "go to" guy in that period and looked really dangerous, but then the injury came. Can't help but feel that player is still in there. Technically he is very good but a bit lightweight IMO. Maybe a new manager, some consistent pitch time and self belief will make all the difference. We all want him to do well don't we?

Never seen a Chelsea fan actually root against one of its own as ardently as this tool does. Rather pathetic - because CP scored a great one today in a start at his natural position. Dude again has to tear him apart. If it wasn't so sad it would be laughable.

October 9, 20223 yr I thought puli looks very good playing as LWB. We all know he is better on the left than right and this new tempo really suit puli.
October 9, 20223 yr Basically every player we have would be better if they played every game. They would find their form and rhythm. Reality is we have 25-30 players and 11 spots per game. Pulisic has shown his value once in his Chelsea career. Frank's maiden season he had a stretch of games he looked our best player. Otherwise he's been sh*te/average/indifferent or injured.

Yeah, terrible when a Chelsea fan has it in for one of our own players just because he's giving reach arounds to another one....

October 9, 20223 yr He still has alot to do to win me over. I loved him in his purple patch but he has been one of the worst players I’ve ever seen at Chelsea since then. Completely ineffective and useless. He’s producing now which is good to see and he’ll need to do that consistently. I keep seeing the comparison with Mount but he has been a key player for us for far longer than Pulisic ever was. Hopefully he’ll rediscover the purple patch form.

October 9, 20223 yr Good performance by Pulisic and a great goal. I do wonder if this is his absolute best though. His explosive quickness seems to have deserted him, which reduces the effectiveness of his dribbling style. Although he is still very quick over a distance, he has lost his ability to accelerate with the ball. It means he struggles to get separation from defenders and give himself ample time to make a shot or pass. Quickness can also be a matter of anticipation, which in turn is a match fitness thing, but it can also be the body physically unable to react with the speed it used to.
October 9, 20223 yr I'm A Big Pulisic Fan, But At Times He Has Been Beyond sh*t, But Injuries And Being Played As A False 9 At Times Did Affect His Confidence, Very Good Finish Yesterday, Great Ball By Mount To Find Him But Hopefully If He Does Keep Playing He Can Keep Up Being Effective, Same With Mount
October 9, 20223 yr 21 minutes ago, USATim said: Yet, you remain quiet on the Brits who disparage Pulisic. Gutless, you are. And I never claimed to be a Chelsea fan. There are the 2 opposite extremes, namely Hazardouschoice and yourself. HC manages to insert a very negative opinion on Pulisic whatever the subject, and you are blind to Pulisic's shortcomings and blame everything and everybody else when he's not playing or not delivering on the pitch. You called a much loved former head coach an arsewipe, not even Benitez has been called that. You wouldn't know, though, you're not a Chelsea supporter. Anyway, remove those extremes from the discussion, and you'll see pretty much everybody who ever posted about Pulisic thinks he's been frustrating, underwhelming or downright sh*t for the past 2 years or so. That includes the views of Americans who are Chelsea supporters, by the way. Chipping in with the odd goal does not equal deserving a starting place, nor does it warrant organising a system around him. What every Chelsea supporter wants (again, you wouldn't know) is for the team to do well, and when certain players are not contributing to that, we will vent. You are so blinded devoted to one single player that you're convinced that criticism is the same as hatred, and you throw in some national bias for good measure. None Chelsea supporters have always been welcome on this forum, and therefore so are you. What others have realised though, and you haven't, is that the forum is about a club, not a group w**k over one player.

Just trying to go forward on his own trying to beat three four opponents and ending up loosing the ball instead of giving an exellent pass.

October 9, 20223 yr Glad for Pulisic. As an American, I like CP but agree that under Tuchel he was crap (pretty much the same under Tuchel at Dortmund also by the way). The problem there is that Pulisic is a winger (better on the left than right but can play either) and Tuchel does not play with wingers but wants more AM under the striker. Pulisic can play as a second striker but again not his best position. If he can stay healthy and get some consistent match time on the wing, I think we will see a much better player than what he has shown the last couple of year. By the way, I think Mount is perfect in the cent of the 3 behind the striker. Not sure if you have the defense for a 4-2-3-1 right now but really think it is a much better fit for all of your attacking options.

NOT at wingback of false 9, which our boy Tuchel loved to do with him. Mount at center of the 3 in kind of an attacking mid role. Good call. This is exactly how I see it too. You might have been blinkered when you typed them, but at least own what you wrote, mate.
