WC is over for him, doubt he's going anywhere until the summer. Doesn't seem to matter for Newcastle but Pulisic might find it a huge challange to take the spot from Saint-Maximin on that left side.

Agreed If he wants regular starting job, I am afraid he might need to move outside the Top 5/6 EPL teams for now. But perhaps a move to Serie A is more likely. I do think he's not going anywhere until Summer 2023. Another scenario would be some club sign him in Jan, but he stays with Chelsea until Summer 2023 to provide cover (unless Chelsea can find immediate replacement).

I am not so sure about that. Maximin seems injured a lot this season, he's been unavailable for half of their games this campaign it seems. But looking at last season, he has a goal or assist every 281 minutes while Pulisic has a goal or assist every 160 minute; while Pulisic played about half of the minutes he did in the league. From a goal/assist production standpoint, Pulisic has the better numbers. It's possible that Newcastle could make a strong push for Pulisic this January, given Maximin's injury situation; as well as looking at the final production metric. Pulisic might be most productive and comfortable as a left winger, but he can also play attacking mid as well as right winger; so there's that flexibility component that a coach might be looking for. He doesn't have to take over Maximin's spot, you can utilize him in multiple places (even wingback lol).

That's why they are interested if the whole rumor is true, Pulisic would offer them a different profile and more depth, I think it could be a win-win for all involved when you consider everything.
December 28, 20223 yr Very unlucky last night. Should have had a nailed on penno awarded, and then had a perfectly good goal ruled out. Looked more likely to score than Sterling ever did.
December 28, 20223 yr Pulisic seems to go down very easily and the ref's are not giving them as often now. I feel he is too soft for us and a move would be best for everyone involved , shame had high hopes . Edited December 28, 20223 yr by hawkster
December 28, 20223 yr I like him and think he should stay! What would we replace him with in our current climate, hardly going to attract a much higher level at the moment!

December 28, 20223 yr Who started brilliantly then completely slipped down to mediocre level. Still rate CP higher (albeit the earlier sentence also sums him up). Though the original point still being (with both CP and CHO) is we won't be able to get anyone at a higher level than that now. With potentially no champs league next season and action man as manager, there is hardly much attraction for 'named' or 'established' signings. The best we can hope for is new young prospects and hope for the best for their future.

If James and Chilly are in the lineup this team looks pretty strong. But our seasons keep getting derailed by injuries to one or both. If we can't find a way to rely on wing backs less then we need to find a way to back them up. Quite frankly this is why we keep getting put in crappy situations where players are being played out of position. It's an attempt to fix a wingback injury problem.
January 3, 20233 yr I think Chelsea should hold on to CP until the Summer unless they can get good value. He is a nice player and can contribute from may different positions. Not to mention he seems to be a good/decent club house guy and teammate. He just seems to be a player that is again too good to let walk but not good enough to chase after. And I still feel he needs to either decide if he is a goal scorer or an assist guy. Because for me right now he does not seem to do either at a high level. And I 100% agree that he needs to be stronger on the ball. Against the Netherland in the WC you saw some final 3rd players that were men against the rather weak US defenders. I do not know if CP can handle it but 5-10 pounds of muscle would do him well and would likely help with the nagging injury issues. There is definitely something off on this years squad. No business playing even with N-F. It is that type of play that gets you put out of the Champions League. Just look at the roster spend for each squad and justify that result.

January 11, 20233 yr Out for 2 months apparently. Definitely sell in the summer for me. Best ability is availability, and he misses too many games, when he does play, he is pretty inconsistent. I still rate him as a player, but it just hasnt worked out, same as Ziyech, sell both and move on.
January 12, 20233 yr Didn't @USATim-The Returnand, what was his name, that scouser who went back and forth with Tim, get unbanned? Where has there fighting over CP gone? Lol
March 8, 20233 yr The return of Captain America last night has gone completely under the radar. Looking forward to the bants between @HazardousChoice and @TimesUpPotter if he gets to play more.
March 8, 20233 yr Hopefully just getting him in the shop window, should be first player gone in summer and awful he gets the nod over Mudryk.

Hard to take anything away, he came on late returning from injury and had obviously received instructions to burn the clock.

March 18, 20233 yr I actually thought he was his usual weak flatters to deceive, ineffectual self. Personally I would have started Mudryk. However I will concede that I have never really been a fan of Pulisic, I have always felt he is overrated, except for a brief period when he was relatively unknown and had a bit of form. Got injured in the FA Cup final and I have never seen anything in this bloke since. But I acknowledge that my judgement is somewhat clouded.
