Willian has a good chance to launch a corner in with no danger due to the time and hits the first man.

 

At least the more conservative play has kept us in the game. At some time though we have to try to win it.

What is it with David Luiz and charging like a wildebeest into players who are going nowhere down by the right hand side of the field to give away a free kick and get a yellow? You'd like to think that as a thirty-two year old defender he'd know not to do it time and time again anyway, but especially after the same thing cost us the opening goals at Spurs in November and set us on this downward spiral. 

Also, why would you not play a recognised striker to hold the ball up when you know this side will press us into the corner flag, leading us to punt it long every single time? Don't get it, but ktbffh

Solid defensively, but worse than I have seen us all season on the ball. Cheap giveaways and really poor decision making. We look much less threatening than we did against City when we beat them earlier in the season. I can't see any way through at the moment.

so with extra time you could have a doze until about 6:45 and then wake up to see the penalty shoot-out

Well, we survived the first half. Couldn't wait for anything different, City controlling the game and we depend on their game only.

0:0 better than 3 or 4:0 at half time. Fully expect to see Kovacic for Barkley and then 1 winger off for Higuain.

This team put everything into breaking down any opponent possession - knick it or foul and get men behind the ball. Their 'rests' are when they're in possession.

I don't get it, I don't understand why after so many seasons of seeing him hit the first man that somebody hasn't come out and just said it, that he can't take set pieces. Just get him off them, he doesn't know how to place it in the right area and he doesn't know how much power he needs to put onto the cross. He's just hitting and hoping.

Luiz had little choice there thanks to Emerson diving in and missing his tackle. Bernardo was in a very dangerous position to cut back - Luiz made the call to go for ball and take man if he missed, could've easily went worse if he stood off.

That went better than expected. We’re obviously not as good as City these days so I don’t know what some of you were expecting. We’ve kept them out and could have nicked a goal at the end there. Even the pundits are giving us credit.

I’d like to see RLC on for Barkley, and CHO and Higuain on at some point. Actually we’ve got some good sub options.

still in this but in order to win Giroud or Higuain are going to have to come into this match - no two ways about it

How does Barkley play so many games over RLC? I really want to know.

You got to admit their tactics are magnificent. Completely dominates every team they face.

Happy with the score so far, it really looks like we need abit of luck to get 1 on 1. Fabregas would have been very handy.

Higuain can cause trouble, but it’d have to be Hazard for Higuain if we want to keep the same defensive stability, I think it may be worth it?

He played on Thursday, he's capable of playing now, he's much better with the ball than Barkley is. 

Emmerson has been ok so far, unexpected was Hazard clearing from our box on two corners

Emerson won the ball, it ricocheted back off Silva in front of him. Luiz could have stood him up there was no need to go charging in like that.
