August 17, 20232 yr It might not even be from the medical team, could be James skipping a part of the recovery process just to rush back on the field. Regardless, I think it has reached the point where there needs to be a thorough investigation into James' injury problems.

Players get injured sure, but no other team are starting with 5 first teamers out They seem to pick up one injury and never recover. They always seem to return damaged and just get the same injury again soon after or a new injury when they return. This has been going on for years now and it started with Rudiger. I remember when he picked up his knee injury at the end of the 2018/19 season. When he returned, he injured his knee again, then he returned again and picked up another injury. This went on for 6 months. So many players at our club seem to pick up one injury and then get another one soon after. Chilwell was the same, he came back from his ACL injury and got a hamstring injury within weeks of returning and then had another one at the end of last season. Another one is Sterling. He's gone his whole career without any serious injuries, one season at Chelsea and he picks up a hamstring injury. It wasn't just one hamstring injury though, because one is never enough at Chelsea, he picks up the same injury again a month later. Kovacic is at City now, he was constantly hit by injuries with us, I would not be surprised if he manages to remain mostly injury free at City though. I don't understand why our players either go through months of injuries before finally getting their bodies back to the way they should be, or never recover until the day they leave.
August 17, 20232 yr It just feeds into the whole thing I was saying the other day, that we can never get excited about anything surrounding Chelsea anymore. Every time we do, something bad happens to spoil it. We beat Liverpool to sign both Caicedo and Lavia, and almost immediately we are brought down to a low point with Hall expected to leave and now James picking up another injury. It's no surprise that many fans are pessimistic these days, we can't get excited about anything Chelsea related, there's always a catch.
August 17, 20232 yr Cheer up, Scott, at least your internet connection is fully functional. *crosses fingers for his internet connection*

And now we're looking to play 3 DMs in the centre, how are we going to score enough goals. the days of 1-0s in the Prem is largely over and we pretty rarely score more than one goal per game in the last two seasons This is because Poch played a back 3 against Liverpool, mimicking Tuchel. This shouldn't be the norm, we should be playing a back 4 and I think the days of us relying a lot on full backs are over, this injury of James shows it too.
August 17, 20232 yr Could this be our training facilities not helping the pitch at Cobham because we pick up way too many injuries in training compared to other teams?

People won't like to hear that but the only solution may end up being playing him in less taxing positions. Could be a solution longer term but we already have a lot of competition for CB spots when all are fit. Plus you then lose out on one of his big strengths which is his crossing ability.

But either way, if that's the only way we can get a better run of fitness from him it's something that may have to be considered.

This is what I am thinking because we have been getting far too many injuries in training @Scott Harris mentioned Sterling getting injured as soon as the joined us while not having these issues at City. Until the club address this, we will suffer every season with long injuries.

August 17, 20232 yr Had to go see the best specialists in the world, has to have surgery to fix this. we cannot have him being out for months every season.

August 17, 20232 yr I agree with the thoughts on his career, or longevity of it. He is unavailable more than available - I doubt anyone is more frustrated than Reece, but this is not a sustainable pattern. Mucho Trusto in Gusto though. The boy can play

That seemed to be the highlight of his letter to young Reece. Injury injury injury. Don't understand the logic in making injury prone players captain and vice captain.

August 17, 20232 yr why arent we going for cancelo? Gusto passing was below average in that liverpool match

Because its entirely dependent on them in terms of chance creation. I'd rather focus on bringing in more attacking impetus so we can actually get more goals.

August 17, 20232 yr I know I'm banging on about it but an offer for Pavard has been made by Inter for €25m. €25m, plug in and play. About as much as we paid for Ugo, who we'll be loaning out. If we do nothing then fair enough, but if we do decide to restock please let's not spend 30m for an untried inexperienced kid when a solid experienced pro is available.
August 17, 20232 yr Ridiculous. He only had surgery at the end of last season. Doesn’t surprise me he’s picked up injury with the amount of running that Poch is making them do. So disappointing.
